This book was out of my league. Showing off the abundance of natural light in your house isn't hard, if you have windows bigger than 4 square feet. And balancing my deep and luxurious soaker tub and glass-enclosed shower? I think I could handle it, but all I've got is a stained fiberglass enclosure. Better luck next time, PB.

Beautiful, glossy photos, diagrams, measurement tips, materials, color palettes - Home has much to offer amateur decorators and is also a lovely book to just flip through.

I love this book just as much today as when I bought it 15 years ago. It's still relevant for me. I hope my own style isn't dated - but I don't think so. The way we live in our homes is universal. I found some notes I made, and they are still important to me. It still inspires me. I love seeing homes from all different parts of the country. Of course I can't do everything I love because of the limits of my actual home, but I can and have incorporated 100's of ideas over the years. I found a lot of them repetitive, and the book is too large to consume! Otherwise, a nearly perfect book.

Aspirational decorating at its finest. These are houses for couples, really; or possibly for families with much older children who ideally don't even live at home anymore. These are not houses for families with young children, or families who like TVs, or families whose pets jump on furniture whether they're allowed to or not. I chose to look at this book this way: I'd glean a few ideas from it and sigh wistfully while fantasizing about the rest.

If you are a fan of the PB home decorating books but don't have easy access to them, this book reads almost like a "best of." Although I grab these books for the eye candy, there's plenty of text and it's easy to read and compiles a lot of useful design information.

Great book with wonderful photos and decorating advice. Do not think this is just a glorified catalog of the company's products. This book gives excellent decorating advice room by room and incorporates life styles into each chapter.

I got this book from the library to get a few hints on decorating my new house. I will be buying a copy of my own for future home updates. There were so many great ideas.
