Reading this in the Danish version. I'm blaming this for being part of the reason I am a bit disappointed. Some nuances got lost in translation so it isn't actually about what I thought it would be. But as it now is here and I won't be headed for the library for a few days I may as well read it and possibly pick up something I can use.

Finished it now. This was a ridiculous book I'm sorry to say. Part of it might have been made extra comical in translation, but mostly I'm left with a Huh? Are they serious?! feeling. I think there may be cultural differences as well as socio-economic ones in play here too.

I did find a few ideas along the way pertaining to what I thought it was about so not all bad. But I'm still going to leave it just 1 star. If I could I'd add a half more seeing how I did get an idea or two.

I enjoyed reading this book at a leisurely pace before bed each night. The images were beautiful, and though my own style is a little less rustic than some of the PB decor, I found it inspiring and enjoyed seeing and reading about the vignettes in the various homes in which the book was photographed. I also enjoyed the close-up dissections of each scene, which focused in on place settings and napkin rings, etc. My only criticism of the book is that the flow between settings within each chapter seemed a bit disjointed.
