When Holly finds her way as a lost child to Neverland, it is a paradise for a girl who loves adventure. But her life with the outlaws is plagued by a dark their sworn enemy, the mischievous Peter Pan, now captain of the pirate ship, the Jolly Roger. Holly finds the troublesome Pan strangely appealing, but he pays no attention to her – until one day she steals his name.
“There was something about the magical boy: his unstoppable energy; his undiluted interest in whatever had his attention (and if that happened to be you, it felt like you were the bright side of the earth and he was the sun)… When Peter was with you, you shone in his charisma. When he left your side, it felt as thought the best parts of you began to fade.”

Loved this story that is set parallel to Barrie’s Peter and Wendy, but follows a different Lost Girl and her adventures in Neverland. The writing style and descriptions felt very Barrie-esque, and you can really tell the love Knight has for Barrie’s original book which made my heart very happy ✨
Knight takes us back to Neverland through the eyes of another Lost Child - an older, more authentic Neverland reminiscent of J.M. Barrie's original, where memories are lost treasures, names are fiercely guarded possessions, and not every story ends happily. With not a Hollywood A-lister in sight, we peek behind the scenes of the stories we know, and learn to love and hate Peter again as the flawed, overconfident, charming hero he is.
