My purpose in developing this gun record log book was to devise a simple, useful means for firearms owners to record or log identifying information in printed or written form about their firearms collection and ammunition, whether needed for insurance purposes, taxes, estate records, theft, sales or exchange, or just as a self-reminder. It was born out of necessity for me to record my own firearms, and provided a means of motivating me, with encouragement from my wife, to design a tool that would also help others who love the outdoors and hunting. One might also say I came to develop this gun record log quite naturally based on my life experience. I went hunting and fishing with my father and grandfather while growing up in northwest Missouri. As a teen I spent a lot of time in the woods with my squirrel dog contemplating life and my future, as well as enjoying the time hunting. I developed a number of friendships throughout my life through my love of the outdoors. I also carried on the family tradition of hunting and fishing with my children and grandchildren. I hope you have similar memories and experiences to share. I hope you find this gun record log book useful, as it contains multiple forms for recording essential identifying data about the current firearms in your collection, the ammunition you have on hand, and guns you have disposed of via one method or another. Thank you for using this gun record log book, and I hope you will encourage friends and family to give it a try. Remember to be safe and follow the law when hunting and handling firearms.
