Okay. I'm not an expert. But this "simple guide" strikes me as a little too ambitious and complex for its 114 pages (including glossary and notes). It seemed to jump about like a monkey mind. (Maybe I just projected my monkey mind on to the content?) I would have been happier with a short book about the history of Zen. Or a short book about koans. Or a short book about the noble truths and the eightfold path. Or maybe just a bigger book? Or a series of books?

A simple introduction to Zen. I found the anecdotes interesting and the information was easily grasped. The author is a Unitarian Universalist and refers to UU principles.
