Offers an introduction to reincarnation, including the evidence that it occurs, the beliefs of various traditions, gaining access to past lives, karma, soul cycles, and the use of reincarnation in psychotherapy.
I am so happy to finally finish this book. It was not all bad but I expected different things from this book. If it would have been called The Complete Idiot's Guide to Past Life Therapy it would firstly be more accurate and secondly I would not have bought it or at least my expectations would have been different. Nevertheless, it was informative if not written in a way to keep me entertained. The text on the back cover is completely misleading and is what I wanted to read, but did not get. enjoyed the chapters on Karma and Chakras.
I just got this from a university religious studies department -- they're doing a cull of unwanted books in the library. Not sure why this made the list, as it sounds like it could come in very handy at some point. Of course, the title can be taken two ways, which is a problem with the whole "Idiot's Guide" and "For Dummies" lines. Teed up and ready to go as soon as I have a moment.
I do believe in reincarnation. The book provides valuable insights and information for any curious individual. Reading this book can give a deeper understanding of reincarnation and past life regression. I know that I shall want to read this book again in the future.
This is a book that offers an introduction to the concept of reincarnation. Written by Dr. David Hammerman, a licensed psychologist, the book takes a scientific and scholarly look at reincarnation. It explores the evidence for reincarnation, beliefs across various traditions, accessing past lives, karma, soul cycles, and the use of reincarnation in psychotherapy.
The book also includes anecdotes about famous individuals, such as Shirley MacLaine (American actress and author), who claim to have had past life experiences and how treatments like hypnotherapy can help to rekindle buried memories and identities.
