A very helpful book! I had never meditated before, (I did not necessarily understand meditation before), but I felt an interest in reading this book. I've recently found myself interested in Buddhism (I guess you could say that I am a Buddhist?), and exploring meditation has been enjoyable. I will take the book's advice and not speak too much on my personal opinion on meditation, however, if it is something you are interested in, this book could absolutely help you. I have learned so much in such a short period of time.

Anytime i faced what seemed to be an insurmountable trouble in my life, this book was thrust into my hands by my mother. The copy I have has traveled a large part of the world and carries the smell of a life lived full of depth and experience and I could never part with it. Insightful, simple.

A nice little companion to my practice, dispensing wisdom from some of the greats like Thich Nhat Hanh, Jack Kornfield, and Jon Kabat-Zinn that have aided the confounding theory of mindfulness.

This book is a compilation of essays about meditation. One of my favorites is "One Breath" by Gary Snyder. Definitely recommend to anyone even slightly interested in learning about different forms of meditation.

Wonderful book. Short chapters written by Zen masters who share about meditation. Although the title describes this as a first guide to meditation practice, there are goodies for all meditators. I read a chapter or 2 each morning as a day beginner which was a great way to start the day.
