Half wolf, half dog, White Fang fully understands the cruelty of both nature and humans. After nearly starving to death during the frigid Arctic winter, he’s taken in first by a man who “trains” him through constant whippings, and then by another who forces him to participate in vicious dogfights. Follow White Fang as he overcomes these obstacles and finally meets someone who offers him kindness and love.

The story,"White Fang,"written by Jack London, is about a wolf pup and his mother. The author dose not specify what year it is, but he describes native Indians interacting with white men on horseback in the wilderness. White fang is raised by his mother in the woods, His mother was raised by humans. Later an indian named Grey Beaver adopts White Fang and his mother because he recognized White Fang"s mother when she lived with humans. At first he is kind to them and develops a bond with White Fang. But later Grey Beaver betrays White Fang by selling him to a man named Beauty Smith. Grey Beaver knew that Beauty Smith wanted to use White Fang as a fighting dog. The author describes how White Fang has to learn how to fight by being beaten and torched by his new owner. Later, White Fang's luck changes when he is saved from almost dying in a fight with a bulldog by a new owner named Weedon Scott.
Weedon Scott takes good care of White Fang and the wolf becomes very protective of his new master. Little by little, White Fang learns to forget his old difficult life and learns to love his new life and family.
I tried to find the Audible for this and gave up. The Audible version I read was probably more like 2 stars. The original story by Jack London is certainly 4-5 Stars.
Do you like the outdoors? Then this book is for you! White fang is a really good book about a wolf, it’s a really good book I highly recommend this book if you like the outdoors.
Do you like wolves? If so then this book is for you. It’s about a half wolf half dog and even through almost starving during the arctic winter, he has to face the cruelty of humanity and find loving family. I think this book is five stars because of the way it paints a story in your mind. I hope you enjoy the book!
I like the book White Fang. The story features both good and bad characters that I thought were interesting. The central character, White Fang, had many obstacles to overcome and the story is filled with his adventures along the way.
Melhor personagem: Weedon Scott Melhor citação: "Even enimies must have respect for one another."
=> White Fang is considered by many to be a story about "the survival of the fittest". What do you think this means?
==> How does White Fang change from the beginning to the end of the book?

White Fang is a good book and I recommend it to a lot of people who like to read about wolfs. This book is similar to the book Stone Fox. If you have read Stone Fox read this book.Everyone treats it like a dog. The dog saves many lives. If you don't like sad books don't read this book. This book is a great book. The author is a great writer. White fang is half wolf half dog. He is on the human side and the nature side. Through out the book he gets vicious and attacks some people but sometimes he is a mans best friend. White fang finally finds someone he loves and chose to be by his side. Not a lot of people liked White Fang in the beginning but they finally started getting used to him.
The way he brought the characters into the book was really creative. I wished he added a little more detail on how the people looked. I would not want any animal or living thing to have a life similar to White Fang's. How much intelligence and intellect he had was amazing. I really think animals have feelings and can understand the way others feel. It was a great book Realistic fiction tradiontional
I read this book about 6-7 years ago. It was the first time I read a novel in English =)) harsh memory but thanks for supporting (and pushing) of my friend, I improved my English much. Really love White Fang, a cute boy, a long way to walk but he did it so well. The illustration is beautiful. I remember how happy I was when reading it until the end. A predictable ending but very emotional. Hope in the future, I can read The call of the wild of Jack London.
I read this to my boys (ages 6 and 9) and it was a much easier read for them than the unabridged original. The chapters were short which was good for us depending on how much time we had. The boys loved the story and the questions at the end were nice too. At several points in the story we were able to have good conversations about how what White Fang was going through are things humans can also experience.
Excellent story, loved reading it. The evolution of White Fang was just glorious in my opinion. The prose kept me coming back to see where the story was going. London did a great job elicting the proper responses expected during the story.
Very good book, about a half breed dog and wolf, having his mother taken away by strangers the young cub wonders the world with people around the world. His cold heart isolates him from others, will he stay that way or would he change. Read this book to find out.
what a strange adaptation. I mean, are the puppies his or is he adopting some other dogs puppies? they really need to think through these adaptations. they gloss over the different cultures of each of his owners, which is actually pretty important.
This was a great book and one of the first classics I had ever read. This book is very good and will be always remembered by me. This is a dog who is going through domestication and I would recomend it to people who like animals and action.
White Fang is a book that shows the life of a gray wolf. he has a lot of troubles along the way, until he meets a man who was nice to him, unlike his other owners.
it s a really good book because it as alot of emotion .Like i, when i read the book i felt sad and after i felt happy. It is a really sad story but at the end you feel good after you read it!
Read this out loud to my son. We both enjoyed it very much. we then checked out the movie version from the library and enjoyed that as well, although of course different than the book.
