As a senior detective, he led investigations into all kinds of major crime including, murder, armed robbery, serious sex crime and people/drug trafficking. Whilst commanding firearms and disorder incidents, he learned what it means to have to make life-and-death decisions in the heat of live operations.
His stories are grounded in the reality of police work, but remain exciting, suspenseful, and with the sort of twists and turns crime-fiction readers love.

The Worshipper Trilogy
Tension, intrigue and plot twists abound in this set! Jamie Carver is the main character. As DCI in charge of solving a set of brutal murders. This is the theme throughout the set. The murderer is a psychotic, with ties to some of the most influential people in several nations. Cunning, calculated and cruel the murderer seems to always be a couple of steps ahead of the police.
I'm looking forward to the next book!

Rollercoaster ride
Couldn't wait to get to the end of this trilogy. Brilliant characters and plot- kept me guessing til the end and didn't see the wicked twist coming at all. Well done Robert Barker.

This first novel on DCI Carver, I found to be a fast read and the protagonist, likeable. Though clunky in places, I think the plot with its twists and turns keep you hooked until the end. I already have the second book in my tbr pile in the paperback version and I'm looking forward to it.
