I was looking forward to read a novel about Slovaks, but any nationality & the appropriate details could have been substituted in. Everything was so implausibly perfect; I keep reading wondering when the bombshell would drop, but there was never any tension or dramatic conflict. The upbeat tone could be great for someone with the blues, but it just didn't work for me, especially with the characters eating sugar night & day yet never needing to exercise. I received a Kindle edition from a Goodreads giveaway.
The book started ok and I was ready for a good romantic read. The Story is simple and sweet. I was looking for a creme broulle' but this was a chocolate chip cookie. Still good but not as satisfying complicated. The writing was way to simple and almost seemed like a kids view on love. The characters were older and they didn't really evolve. It was hard to finish, because by halfway into the book I knew how it world end. No surprises, no conflict. So for me it was just meh.
This is a wonderful book and an easy read. You quickly become entrenched in the lives of 2 best friends and their endearing adventures. Perfect for a day at the beach, a flight across the skies or a lazy Sunday afternoon...
