Roses are red. Corpses are blue. I want you dead. And your boyfriend too.
—Your Secret Enemy

Having a clandestine romance in a realm of witches, Fae, and monsters is dangerous, especially when Prince Charming’s curse complicates one’s sex-life—and could result in death.

Clarissa Lawrence’s powers have returned. Just when everything seems to be going so well that Clarissa no longer wishes to live in a fantasy realm where she could be teaching good students at a fictional school like Hogwarts, her perfect world collapses around her. Clarissa’s best friend wants nothing to do with her. Her wicked roommate is back to her nefarious ways. Felix Thatch, her magical mentor, withdraws after becoming intimate with her. Worse yet, a mysterious presence haunts the school and threatens Clarissa and those closest to her.

Clarissa doesn’t know how to explain it all. She must figure out who is behind these threats before anyone else gets hurt.

I love this series, but this is the first book in it that I have not given five stars. My problem with it is that – for me – there is too much sex in it. Given that my ideal sex scene in a book reads “the light went out” followed swiftly by the chapter ending, you can probably understand that any more than the most scaled-back description of sex risks losing my attention altogether. Thankfully, the story did get back on track. Josie and Clarissa tentatively attempt to renew their friendship, Vega and Elric’s ‘mutually beneficial’ relationship continues, Thatch reverts to type as a miserable (and occasionally creepy) old so-and-so (he really has no idea about how to deal with women), Clarissa does make some real progress in learning about magic – and makes some quite unexpected discoveries, and some-one is sending Clarissa bouquets with sinister notes attached.
So, business as usual. Life at Womby’s is never straightforward, and always full of surprises. I did really enjoy the book, and would definitely recommend it, but for me it did not make it up to 5 stars.

"Of Curse You Will" is a fitting continuation to this charming series, which is sort of--well, more than sort of--a grown-up version of Harry Potter, featuring teachers at a magical school rather students. Although Clarissa's sort of both.

If you're just jumping into the series now you'll probably be able to follow along reasonably well, although it would probably be helpful--and fun--to go back and read some of the earlier books first. To recap: Clarissa, daughter of a dangerous witch and possessor of the dangerous and supposedly nonexistent Red affinity, is teaching at Womby's, a boarding school for Witchkin. Raised amongst Morties and deliberately kept away from her magical heritage, Clarissa is struggling to master her magical skills as an adult, while also negotiating her relationship with her lover/nemesis Thatch, the hottest, baddest teacher at Womby's.

Some of the scenes in "Of Curse You Will" are pretty hot, FYI, and there's some "adult" language as well, so the super-prudish and those looking for a middle-grade read should probably steer clear of this book. But if your inner Witchkin delights in stories of magical teachers fighting the Fae and getting it on between classes, this is the series for you.

I received an ARC of this book from the author. All opinions are my own.

*** I received an advanced e-copy of the book from the author in exchange for my honest review

In book 11 of the Womby's School For Wayward Witches series, someone is out to get Clarissa. Poisonous flowers with an ominous note arrive and more than once Clarissa senses an evil presence watching her. She has enough on her plate trying to mend the friendship with her best friend, and attempting to have a relationship with Thatch.... the last thing she wants or needs is to have to be constantly on-guard.
I loved this book, as I have all the books in this series. I ended up reading it in one day because I couldn't put it down. It was filled with danger and excitement, with some steamy romance thrown in for good measure..... something for everyone!

This is the first book I've read in this series. I definitely like it and I'll mention that it has some sex scenes in it. This book has great characters, both good and bad. It's well written and has an interesting plot. I got quite a few laughs between sarcasm and just funny stuff. It's quite different from the rest of the paranormal fantasies I usually read. You'd think it would be the kids getting into trouble, but the adults give them a run for their money! I definitely recommend it.

Clarissa is naked and Thatch is there. On the other hand someone sends her poison flowers, Vega really, really seems to hate her and Thatch is teaching Clarissa more magic since her own magic seems to have returned but it needs to be kept secret.

Suddenly, though, things go wrong and it seems someone is after her. Even with eleven books done the story still seems to be interesting and the characters are also still interesting. I am beginning to wonder, though, why they always remain on the defensive against the Raven Court and don't at least consider taking the offensive, perhaps forming some kind of coalition of the other courts and maybe even use technology against the Raven Queen.

entertaining paranormal cozy mystery series

This is an entertaining paranormal cozy mystery series. Great cast of characters and an entertaining storyline. Once again we are following the adventures of the teachers at Wimberley school for wayward witches. Is a magical school in the paranormal world which is for the most part the last resort for all students in the education system in the world. They get the rejects they get the poor kids they get the orphans they pretty much get everybody. Read and follow the adventures once again and see where it leads.

This is the volume where Clarissa and Thatch finally manage to 'make it work'. Yet it has to be for 'new adult' rather than YA simply because of the nature of their strain of magic. All his long life Thatch has had to deal with the practical disadvantages of the Red affinity. Clarissa's indefatigably loving nature refuses to leave this unsolved. Then when she uncovers a potential solution, the frigid heart of her potential helper also needs healing. It's a matter of life and death for them all, and has to remain hush-hush due to school rules!

You will get absurd chuckles over how the students interpret the strange situations in which they find their teachers, giving rise to truly tabloid-level rumors.

Coming in on book 11 of a series isn’t recommended in this case. The brief explanations make the current characters seem to be made out of jello, as their personalities seem to fluctuate like a mood swing on speed.

Coming in on a sex scene was equally disturbing. What is this Shades of Grey meet Charmed?

A taboo romance between Clarissa and Thatch could entice some, but forbidden love isn’t anything that whets my appetite - or anything else. So it’s also like an adult student/teacher thing.

The first chapters show us a wimpy damsel in distress Clarisssa and ends with her being saved. Again.

It’s not that I want a kick ass heroine who doesn’t nor need a man or significant other; but can we have someone who isn’t a disaster with an easy mark on her forehead? If it was clumsiness, I could go for it. Once in a while.

Two stars for “it’s okay” but it’s really, truly not anything that tickles (against the rules!) my fancy. The writing and editing were tight; so it is primed for an easy if this is what you’re looking for.

Sinfully sexy. Wickedly wonderful.
Behind the scenes with the instructors at Womby's School for Wayward Witches. It is not only the students that are struggling and being instructed.
I read this as a stand alone novel and followed along just fine however I really do want to read this series from the start to get all the nuance and figure out how all the relationships fit and malfunction. Many of the characters surprised me. I wasn`t quite sure who could be trusted... at least until the next wand waved.
Clarissa wants to get a handle on her magic and she is as impatient as the younger students.
She also wants her highly anticipated romance to move ahead more quickly. Keeping it secret is harder for her than learning new magic!
While the series concept seems find for young adult readers, this book has its very hot, hot hot spots and language. There are mature subjects openly displayed.

I have a review at the beginning of this series talking about how I wasn't sure if it was a series I'd be interested in. And that as the series continued I was more and more under it's spell. Each book got better and better. There is so much creativity and heart in these books that it was impossible not to fall in love with the stories and the characters.
Sarina Dorie has managed to not only spin takes that will make you laugh out loud and even shed tears, she has created characters that will draw you in and actually make you care about them.
I have not been surprised by a series, to this extent, in a very long time.
At this time there are no other books that have been released. Though lucky for me I have already pre-ordered the next book which will be released in a few days! I can only hope that there will be more after that.
Do yourself a favor, if anything I've said or others have said has made you curious, get series. I do not believe that you will be disappointed.

If you haven't started with the earlier books, you've missed out on a lot of interesting, funny, and informative background leading up to Book 11. You should start with Book 1 and read your way forward. Book 11 continues the saga of Clarissa Lawrence, 24 years old, in her third year at Womby's. It starts, "naked and blindfolded, sitting on the lap of my sworn enemy in his office." Wow! What a start! And a few pages later, "He fulfilled my every fantasy and more." Of course, with Clarissa, the adage,"The course of true love never did run smooth." holds in spades. There are humorous misunderstandings, spells gone wrong, misunderstandings, and occasional true understandings. My favorite characters are back for another adventure.

I received an advanced copy of this book from the author. I am giving my honest review.
This is the eleventh book in the series and follows on nicely to The last book. I really felt for Josie in this book. After that horrible ordeal previously the shame must have been horrible. Clarissa is all loved up with Thatch and things get steamy. I guess I did not want her to to go out with Thatch, I mean he has been out with most of the teachers and he adored Clarissa's mother. It just seemed gross to me. The book although it has a little back story of poisoned flowers and stalking basically focused on the relationship. The startling bit came near the end when she fixed Vega's heart. So magic is back hurray. I love these books and have read all of them. My guilty fix of fun and mystical.

Clarissa and Thatch finally come to terms. Clarissa finds herself seriously involved with Felix Thatch. She loves being with him, but he wants to keep their relationship a secret. This causes some problems with Clarissa as she starts to over-thinks their situation. The major problem between them is communication. Clarissa of course gets herself into many problems with Josie and of course, Vega. With all the secrets she has to keep to herself, she has a hard time when answering questions. Most answers are partial truths mixed with lies that make her nervous. Read it to get all the spicy thrills between Clarissa and Thatch. Another witchy story in Clarissa’s world.

Clarissa continues to struggle learning magic and what her heart really wants. Her affinity still gets her in hot water but she eventually sorts it out with the help of Thatch, Vera and her other friends. There are some unexpected surprises along the way which seem to bring her and Vera closer together. It's well written and an addictive read because the characters seem so real and you are so invested in their stories. This book can be read as stand alone but will make more sense read as part of the a series.

I received a free copy of this in exchange for an honest review.

Of Curse You Will by Sarina Dorie
[PNR, new adult, magic, school, relationships, series]
Sometimes we need to step outside ourselves to see the big picture. I enjoyed this episode of Womby's as much as the others, even though the action was more internal than external. Understanding one another and their motivations is a form of magic that can aid healing and is a large concept that is woven throughout Of Curse You Will.
I look forward to reading more from this enchanting series.

A Perfect Continuation of A Great Story.

I love how Sarina weaves a storyline from one book to the next and so on. While making happy from reading this book, you are still left wanting more. The feeling of real time is what makes the books in the Womby's School series. Also the characters continue to grow and you also learn more and more about all the main characters and the secondary characters who are integral to the story.

Can Clarissa finally get everything she want? She is now in a relationship. Or is it all in her mind? Thatch has his own idea about their relationship. He's still bossy with no regard to her feeling. Most of this book is about their relationship. I loved as much if not more than the rest of this series and hope the next book comes out soon. I received a copy of this book and choice to review it.

If the course of true love never runs smooth, it must be the real thing for Clarissa and Thatch…Or at least for Clarissa. And every new magic she learns always seems to hilariously complicate things more than solve them. Things are definitely heating up. This is my honest, voluntary review of an advanced reader copy of this book. Great characters and lot of humor.

Man, I wish I would have gone to a boarding school like this. Gorgeous teachers, wild magic classes, death threats and hot hookups during (and after) school...wow, I really missed the boat. Heck, mine was run by nuns and was a girls only school. I received an advance copy of this book. This series is a blast and I post this review because I want others to know about this fun read.

More fun and adventures with Clarissa and her career as an art teacher at a school for witches. She continues to have difficulties with knowing whom to trust. The characters in this series are never good or bad, like real life but magnified. Her relationship with Thatch seems to move forward and then stall. He’s like that. He drives me crazy but I kind of love him too. This series is such fun!

I loved this book. It is an adult read, it contains sexual content. The book continues to follow the life of Clarissa as she learns to control her magic and affinity, while hiding what her affinity is and her relationship with Felix Thatch her mentor is anything more than anyone thinks it is.
