If you know quilting but not rescue work, this is perfect, it will educate you about many aspects of dog rescue. If, like me, you know rescue but not quilting, you may be, as I was, a little lost during the discussion of the quilting. But that’s not important to the plot. While the beginning had me wondering if this was meant for middle-school/teen/“young adult” ages, the investigation turned out to be interesting. The e-book had some typos (missing/wrong words, misspellings), but no more than is to be expected these days (unfortunately). As far as the writing goes, there were a few times I wasn’t sure who was speaking, a couple times someone is mentioned by name that I could swear hadn’t been introduced yet, I still don’t know what kind of dog Barney is, and I wish the author hadn’t chosen names that start with the same first letter for the 2 main characters. And I’m not at all clear on what exactly about this case made Charles make the decision he did. All minor things. I still enjoyed it. (It had dogs—being loved & well-treated—how could I not?!)
