Thinking About You by Monica Murphy is sweet with lots of sexy, but at the end of the day, I just needed more. More emotional connection between the characters. More emotional intimacy. Just more.

Both the hero and the heroine are likable characters. Neither Cannon nor Sus have any bad qualities, but I also felt like I didn’t know them well enough, which left them both feeling a bit two dimensional to me.

Their chemistry, physically is insane, and I did enjoy their physical connection. It was a bit awkward at times like Sus, but I loved that it seemed to fit their dynamic as a couple.

The story is pretty expected. No surprises or real plot twists. From the synopsis, readers are going to know what to expect and there isn’t a real deviation.

Did I enjoy it? Yes. There wasn’t anything wrong with the book, the writing, or the characters. I ultimately just needed more depth, more twists, turns. More something

"She works part-time at an art gallery and lives off her family’s money.

Her family is nobility. I come from a single mom who always scraped to get by."

So tired of the veeeerrrrryyyyy rich plot line where money makes you better than others not so fortunate. Ridiculous and annoying

Thinking About You was a sweet, pretty hot story with endearing characters. Watching two people falling in love but not living in the same place.

Cannon and Susanna didn’t live in the same country and a lifestyle so different, as that were almost not meant to be. Until they met in London, when the football player was just passing through for a game.

I adored how they connected, Cannon was a popular jock with a great career, living his dream but wanting deeply to find that someone, when the random hookups weren’t enticing anymore. I appreciated his personality, a bit of awkward and shy but so endearing. But when it came to the intercourse, he was a different guy, naughty and more confident.

Susanna was from nobility and looking for her place in the world, not living entirely in her family’s funds, a bit of posh but never arrogant. Being just the girl her parents raised with a high expectation to marry and be an obedient wife. But she wasn’t that way, a bit rebellious and having some issues with her mother about it. Meeting Cannon was the breath of fresh air she needed.

They collided in a beautiful way, and even knowing that what they shared would be temporary, the temptation was too strong not to surrender. I appreciated the upfront tone, it felt so natural between these two, a bit of sweetness and a strong hint of sexiness.

A relationship doomed for the start maybe. And the distance would strain the strong bond they created. They were hardships along the way but they never ceased to be honest, true to themselves and I was so rooting for them. I really enjoyed it.

Oh Monica you have created another book boyfriend for me. I LOVE Cannon he is so sweet and shy but lord when it is time to get down to business that shyness goes out the window and his freaky side comes out.

Cannon is a professional Football player. His team is going overseas to London to play in an exhibition game. There is a honorary party for the team and Cannon goes to it but feels so out of place he wants to leave. That is until he sees this beautiful girl he has to know. He introduces himself to her and the night is about to change. Cannon and Lady Susanna feel the instant chemistry they take it a step further and decide to be intimate.

For one night Cannon can do because he lives in the states and she lives in London. No harm in that right? But one night turns into four and Cannon and Lady Susanna can't keep their hands off of each other. They both know they have a short time together so they spend each day having fun and getting to know one another.

Can Cannon and Lady Susanna be together through the distance? Or will one of them break down and move to the states or to London? This is a great romance book with lot's of steam that will have you needing wipers to wipe off your kindle! Hot Hot Hot!!!!!!!!!!

We got to meet Cannon in Murphy’s previous books, but that small taste of the sexy footballer just wasn’t enough and I was so excited to hear he was finally going to be in the spotlight. Thinking about you is all about Cannon and his Lady Susanna. Cannon is with his football team in London where they are set to play an exhibition game. In honor of that game they are attending a party where Cannon is crawling out of his skin because he is so uncomfortable there. That is until he meets Lady Susanna and things start to get a lot more interesting.

“You keep looking at me like that and I swear I’ll pop a tent right here in the bar.”

Pretty soon clothes are flying off and what was supposed to be a one nighter for these two turns into four hot days together. They may be polar opposites in some ways but do have a lot of things in common, one of them being their rapidly growing feelings towards one another that neither seen coming. Problem is Cannon is about to head back to the States and Susanna is staying in London. Can a relationship happen for these two when they live on opposite sides of the world? Or are four unforgettable nights all that they will be left with?

“I’m leaving tomorrow. I won’t ever see her again. There’s no reason for me to. Or is there?”

While this was a pretty good read, it just wasn’t all I was hoping for. I loved Cannon and all his sweetness and dirty talking.I also liked Susanna, well for the most part. I did find myself getting annoyed with her at times and I’m not even quite sure why. Sometimes the insta-love works but for me I struggled with it a little in this book. I liked the banter between Cannon and Susanna and I love how much they cared for each other. I am looking forward to the next book in the Forever Yours series.

Thinking About You is part of Monica's Forever Yours series but can be read as a complete standalone.

I have always enjoyed any book by Monica that I read and I was really excited for this series because it's her characters from her friends series, but when they are older and mature adults.

I did read the first book in this series (which I will go back and do) but it did not hurt because these are all complete standalones. Thinking About You definitely was not my fave by Monica.

The book started off slow for me. We don't get to know much about Susanna other than she's somewhat royalty in London. For me, it started off too slow and then next thing I know, they're having sex. A lot of sex. I think the majority of this book is them having sex when they are together. I am not one to ever complain about that, but it hurt the relationship development since these two don't know each other at all. Cannon admits that he falls hard and fast a lot, but then it would make sense in his position to slow down a tad bit.

Aside from that - it was decent story. There is no angst or drama. I loved the added touch of her best friend and her brother getting together but it didn't add much to the whole story itself, felt like filler almost.

For me, this was not Monica's best work. I've read many others by her that I loved and this one fell short of that level. It's not a terrible read, I did enjoy it and the sexy times, but everything just felt rushed and not fleshed out well. I wanted to see them get to know one another more on a deeper level than just face value.

Overall, it was a decent read but not favorite from Monica. I know others who enjoyed it more and I think those who like sugary sweet romances with no drama will enjoy this one.

What a fantastic book. I adore Cannon, and he isn't a typical alpha jerk male. He keeps it real, He knows he is not top dog, he is unsure of himself, and he is adorable. The story is about opposites attracting, and boy do they ever. Lady Susana shouldn't want anything to do with a "big brute" but she knows there is something about him, This was a well thought out book that was always entertaining. The characters are very relatable, and likeable. This story is told in dual pov.

This was a lighthearted opposites attract story.
It starts off very interestingly and engagingly with Susanna and Cannon’s meet-cute. Susanna is an English lady, the dutiful daughter of an earl. Cannon is a professional football player from California. Even with their apparent differences, an attraction grows between them.

Susanna is a nice, endearing girl with one arresting weakness: the inability to stand up to her controlling parents. Her parents are the epitome of nobility and so far, she has been following the rules of social etiquette. She still has to realize that the safe, expected option isn't always the best.

Cannon was so very sexy, and I enjoyed his relentless pursuit of Susanna. He is the type of person who goes after what he wants. He became a pro football player by believing in himself and working hard. I loved that he was all tough on the outside but in reality that's not how he really was. Yet, at first, he believes that a girl like Susanna will never be happy with a guy like him.

Generally, the story was nice but kind of predictable and lacked character development. It lost some of its romantic mojo as the story progressed, but ultimately this is a cute love story. What was best about this book, though, was how not perfect the characters relationship was. Susanna and Cannon have so many ups and downs from the moment that they meet, which makes the story interesting. Not to mention that I love opposites attract tropes, so this aspect was working for me.

My honest review is based on an advanced reader copy of this book.

Towards the end of last year, I had not been reading as much as I usually do, however the moment I began "Thinking About You", my reading mojo returned and I read this book in only a few days. I can always rely on a Monica Murphy novel to get me back on track. I had been patiently waiting for Cannon and Susanna's book since finishing "You Promised Me Forever." The couple had piqued my interest and I had a feeling that their romance was going to be something special. I wasn't disappointed. I loved so many things about Cannon and Susanna's story. It was a love that was both sweet and fun but also hot and steamy in parts. It was everything that I had hoped it would be.

"No one makes me tingle with just a kiss like you do, Cannon Whittaker."

Cannon and Susanna were both so easy to love characters. Cannon reminded me of a big teddy bear, all cute and lovable. He was also so lovely with Susanna, I had a big grin on my face with how sweet he was with his girl. Susanna was a caring and loving girl who just seemed to be so perfectly matched with Cannon.. I enjoyed that Susanna was British, giving the story a little twist and also adding a bit of a challenge to the couple's growing relationship It was so heartwarming to see this adorable pair together.

"I'm a different man with Susanna by my side. There's so much still to learn and do,
but I know without a doubt that she's the woman for me."

"Thinking About You" was an easy to read standalone romance that was filled with sweetness and light. I enjoyed every minute of being in Cannon and Susanna's world. I was sad when it ended.

I love Monica Murphy because she writes some light, sweet romances. They don't have a lot of depth to them, but that is perfect when I just need to give my brain a break after a long day.

We met Cannon in the first book of the Forever Yours series and I absolutely adored him in that book. He is a genuinely nice guy who wears his heart on his sleeve and is not afraid to fall hard. He is also a complete alpha male who kicks ass in the NFL.

Lady Susanna Sumner is the epitome of grace and kindness. She has lived a rather sheltered life among the London high society. Susanna feels free and vulnerable to be who she is while she is with Cannon because he doesn't care if she loses it in front of him.

These two have societal norms, small windows of time, and oceans to overcome, but they were made for each other.

Cannon isn't one for subtlety, “you keep looking at me like that and I swear I’ll pop a tent right here in the bar,” he threatens." Cannon's girl is quite good for his ego, “I don’t normally like hairy men,” she continues, her lips brushing against my chest as she talks . “But I like you.” Cannon's thoughts tend to wander "...I can’t help but wonder if she ever forgets her panties when she’s wearing a dress. I won’t protest. Easy access and all." I just love Cannon's attitude, “damn, I love it when you sound all snotty like that.”He swats my butt, making me squeal, and I glare at him as he exits my bedroom. “Come on, girlfriend. Let’s get you settled on the couch so I can jump in the shower.” On my word, I loved this book, Cannon was a hoot.

Opposites attract in this sweet sexy story. Lady Susanna is English aristocracy. She is prim and proper. Cannon is a rough around the edges American NFL player. He loves her primness and she loves his brashness. How can they make it work long distance? They both have some self doubt but can love conquer the insecurities. Follow Cannon and Susanna on the trip to HEA. You will fall for Cannon just like Susanna did. He may be a little brash with no filter but he adores Susanna and treats he like gold. He is thoughtful and sweet. Being a Lady, you would think Susanna was stuck up. She is down to earth. It was fun watching Cannon ruffle her feathers. Good read with lovable characters.

Thinking About You is an easy read with adorable characters. Although very different, from their social class to their geographical location, Canon and Susanna are perfect for each other.

Canon brings out the adventurous side in Susanna while she provides the calm to his storm. Despite their short time together they both fall hard and fast. I loved how open and honest they both were about their tendency to indulge their romantic sides. Luckily they were on the same page if not the same continent.

While I liked Canon and Susanna’s relationship, it was Susanna’s best friend, Evie and her brother, George, who completely stole the limelight for me.

Thinking About You is a smokin’ hot read with sugar sprinkled all over it.

Cannon is a hot NFL player for the 49ers who tends to fall in love quickly. While in London her meets Lady Susanna who he clicks with immediately. Susana is out of her element with Cannon, an American football player and huge physical along with his dirty talking mouth. Cannon and Sus spend 4 magical days and hot nights together. Long distance relationship was never part of the plan, yet they do everything they can to make it work.
I am loving this new series by Murphy.

I was given an advanced readers copy of this book and have decided to leave a voluntary honest review. I had no idea this book was with the people from just friends series. I absolutely loved that series and wondered what to happen to them. Cannon is not your average footballer what I mean by that is. I didn't see him as player and I'm guessing that's what drew Susanna towards him. He also wears his heart on his sleeve not many guys do that. He's sweetheart. I loved seeing a different side of him from high school to grown up.

Cannon is genuine, real and down to earth.

This is the steamiest Monica read I’ve yet to experience. Whew it’s smokin!

You’ll swoon, sweat and squirm with these two great characters while they navigate the pitfalls of a long distance relationship and status lines.

A quick, gobble up kinda page turner. Prepare to fall in love with Cannon!

We have Cannon's story and it was one that I enjoyed. He is a sexy football player and his actions is totally not what I would have expected. He will have you swooning and itching for more of him.

He meets a woman, Susanna at a party in London where his team was passing through. Little did they know that one night would change the fate for the both of them and where falling hard was definitely not in the plans.

The problem...we have two people from opposite ends of the world and from different lifestyles. Long distance and a busy schedule is the challenge that they will have to face. To add certain standards are set in place. Will it work and worth it? Only time will tell.

•••••••••

REVIEW: 3.75 stars--THINKING ABOUT YOU is the second instalment in Monica Murphy’s contemporary, adult FOREVER YOUR erotic, romance series. This is twenty-five year old, San Francisco 49ers football player Cannon Whittaker, and twenty-three year old, part time art gallery worker, Britain’s Lady Susanna Sumner’s story line. THINKING ABOUT YOU can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary. FOREVER YOURS series is a spin-off from the author’s FRIENDS series.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Cannon and Susanna) THINKING ABOUT YOU follows the building relationship between twenty-five year old, San Francisco 49ers football player Cannon Whittaker, and twenty-three year old, part time art gallery worker, Britain’s Lady Susanna Sumner. When the San Francisco 49ers are invited to Britain for an exhibition game at Wembley Stadium, all bets are off when our hero meets the woman with whom he will fall in love. Four days of sight-seeing and $ex ends with tearful goodbyes, and the possibility of a long distance romance. What ensues is the quick building relationship and romance between Susanna and Cannon, as they must come to terms with their plans for a future-together or alone.

The relationship between Cannon and Susanna is quick to develop; an insta-lust/love romance that is dampened by the scheduled departure of our story line hero, a departure that comes with promises of more including face-time escapades and sexting. Cannon likes to talk dirty both in and out of the bedroom. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

We are reintroduced to Cannon’s 49ers’ teammates Tucker McCloud, and quarterback Jordan Tuttle and his girlfriend Amanda (You Promised Me Forever #1) as well as Susanna’s brother George; their parents Lord and Lady Harwood, George’s co-worker Priscilla, and Susanna’s best friend Evie.

THINKING ABOUT YOU is an uplifting and inspiring story line. The premise is imaginative and moving: the characters are sassy and flirty; the romance is seductive and captivating. The conflict is limited to distance and commitments.

I’m not a huge fan of Insta-Love (I personally like a buildup) but when it’s done right I’m on board and Thinking About You, the second book in the Forever Yours series, is a perfect example of this trope. This Sports Romance is super steamy and witty, the dialogue between Cannon and Susanna was smart and funny and these two had sexual chemistry that was combustive from the get go. We got a peek of their meet in the first book of this series and I was happy to finally read their side of it, told in dual POV. So if you’re in the mood for a fun, quick, and steamy love story, look no more!

Cannon Whittaker plays for the San Francisco 49ers and the team’s in London for an exhibition game at Wembley Stadium. The players were invited to a fancy welcoming party but he feels like an alien, so out of place, among the hoity-toity people attending. Cannon doesn’t like the appetizers, there’s only white wine to drink and he thinks everyone’s a snob. Except for the beautiful woman who catches him imitating someone he heard, talking about the “beastly” American players.

“I don’t know what I did to deserve his attention, but I’m going to revel in it for as long as I can.”

Lady Susanna, the daughter of the Earl of Harwood, is quite taken by the large and handsome football player. He’s unintentionally funny and they seem to hit it off. They decide to leave and have dinner elsewhere and before they realize it, they spend four amazing nights getting to know each other and having hot and steamy sex before Cannon has to return to the States. While Susanna is smitten by him, she knows the crass American player could never be a proper suitor; her mother would never approve, mainly because he’s…well, American. Her mother has very high and exact standards and takes their title very seriously, something Susanna has accepted as a given.

“If only he were a Brit. I could see myself falling love with him so easily.”

It’s been a long time since Cannon had a serious relationship; he gave up on them after a series of them broke his heart. While he’s had the occasional hookup, he knows that’s not what he wants either. And no one’s made him feel like he does with Susanna. But he knows his life is in the States and they come from two very different worlds. It would never work out, would it? Should they even try?

Are you ready for some Cannon? Thinking About You is book two in the Forever Yours series by Monica Murphy. Book one was all for Mandy and Jordan, but book two shows us how Cannon is living. I always liked Cannon in her earlier books so it was nice to actually get to see a story from his point of view. Furthermore, it was great to see him as an adult and with someone who could really teach him some things.
The plot of this book intersects with book one. The book starts in England, where Jordan and Cannon go to play an exhibition game of football. If you read book one, then you know that Mandy meets Jordan there. We actually even get to see Cannon and Lady Susanna there. This story shows us about them. About how they met and how their relations go.
I liked Susanna. She is prim and proper, but she is also down to earth. She doesn’t let the wealth and nobility of her family get to her head. She is sensible and loyal. Then you have Cannon. He is the opposite of Susanna. He is loud, brash, and sometimes rude. He is an alpha male to the core. That is what I love most about him.
The heat between these two is explosive. They each find each other attractive so they fall into bed, but they didn’t expect what came after. The addictiveness of finding someone who can help fill those missing pieces in your life, even if for a short while. That made the heat even hotter.
The writing style of this book is good. The pace of the story is steady. I liked the characters and how we were able to read from both point of views. I even liked the little mini plot in the story. It helped progress the main plot, but also gave us something else to focus on. The only thing about this book is I didn’t feel there was enough conflict. I needed just a bit more.
Overall, this was a great story. I am glad Cannon finally got his book. I liked getting a glimpse of Mandy and Jordan from an outsiders point of view. I also liked how the author showed how these teens grew up. You would only know that if you read the first series, but for me that made it great. I would recommend this book to others and cannot wait for the next book.

Plot: 5/5

Thinking About You is the second book in the Forever Yours series by one of my favorite authors, Monica Murphy. You can read it as a total standalone but I do recommend reading the previous book since it’s awesome. If you read Monica’s YA series, friends then you have already met Cannon. In his teen years. Now, he is all man and playing for the NFL.

Cannon never expected to meet her. Lady Susanna Sumner was the kind of woman he never thought would like him. An American Footballer who didn’t know the difference between a Duke and and an Earl. A man who would rather have a cold beer than a glass of wine. She was a Lady after-all. A distant relative to the Queen. So he was shocked that she agreed to leave a fancy party to go out to dinner with him.

Susanna never expected to like him. He was not her type. At. All. But there was something refreshing about him. He was not trying to impress her. He was being himself. Crude words and all. And those words tempting her to do something a Lady would never do. She went home with him. And it was the hottest night of her life. She knew he had to go back to California in just a few days. He was in London to play one game. But, can she just let him walk away after there time together in her city?

I loved this one! I have been following this series from the very beginning. I like Cannon in the Friends series but completely fell for the foul-mouthed sweetheart in this book. I enjoyed their banter. Their laughs. Even their struggles.

Overall...it was damn sexy and sweet. I have read many of Monica’s books and I must say this was the hottest one yet. Cannon’s words and actions are both beautiful and flush inducing.

Quotes:

“You say the rudest things,” she accuses, but she doesn’t sound that mad about it.
“You like it.”
“Hmm. I might.”

“Is your relative the queen in the house?” I’m joking, but wouldn’t it be awesome if Susanna could get me a visit with the queen? “We’re not that close of relatives. I’ve never even met the woman.”

“No one makes me tingle with just a kiss like you do, Cannon Whittaker.”

Pull her into my arms so she’s snug against me, her body fitting to mine like a just-found piece to my life puzzle.

“Who is this unicorn of a man?”

Thinking About You by Monica Murphy, published in 2018, is a short novel at 234 pages and appears to be a part of a series of books mostly based on American professional football players from the San Francisco 49ers team.

This current story is based in and around London, England. The 49ers is one of the U.S. football teams invited to London to play a exhibition game at Wembley Stadium. The book opens with some of the team’s players and staff attending a party being thrown by a titled, wealthy Brit. Football player, Cannon Whittaker, feels out of place but decided to attend hoping for some good food and drink. While there he meets an attractive British woman, Lady Susanna Sumner, whose father is an Earl. Despite the titles, Susanna’s family makes their money through finance and Susanna, herself, has a part time job at an art gallery. After some flirtatious conversation between the two, Cannon and Susanna decide to leave the party and continue the celebration on their own which leads to a hot night of sex and days of enjoying each other’s company between the sheets. Even though they are developing feelings for each other beyond the physical, they know a more serious relationship is not in the cards. After all, she lives in London and he lives in California. Furthermore, he’s a working class American whose all about football and she’s a titled woman whose well-to-do family has roots in the British aristocracy.

Although I enjoyed aspects of this novel, I basically found it pretty disjointed and unclear as to what it wanted to be. It started out as a pretty hot erotic romance. About halfway through the book we stay with the heroine as the couple face their inevitable parting, promising to keep in touch. The story then focuses mostly on the heroine, and we get little of what the hero is experiencing in California. In fact, all through the story, I felt like the hero was less well drawn. We learn about his physical appearance, his sexual prowess, and his feeling of intellectual and class inferiority, but most of the plot which susses out character is with the heroine. We see her interact with her best friend and with her family, while the hero is left mostly a blank slate in those areas. However, that did lead to very good section of the book where Susanna visits her family’s home for her parents’ anniversary and all kinds of crap hits the fan, mostly involving her brother and best friend. At that point, the story turned into a bit of a family farce and I was really enjoying the antics. I would’ve liked more of this and only wished the hero could’ve been a part of it in order to learn more about him. After those scenes, an event happens that once again switches the story’s tone to one that’s more of a “dramedy” which leads to a reappearance of the hero and a return to the erotic. As I said, for such a short book, this was all over the place. For that reason and because we really never get to know the hero, which made the ending kind of a blank slate, I would give this book a C-. If the author has written something longer, it might be worth a try — especially if it takes the time to develop both protagonists.

Cannon and Susanna meet at a party when he is in London with his football team to play an exhibition game. They hang out all evening, and end up spending the night together. Neither wants their time together to end, and after his 4 day stay they decide to give a long distance relationship a try.

The two are so cute together. He his huge and a little crude, she is tiny and proper and petite, but they bring out the best in each other.  Unfortunately living on different continents makes things difficult. Susanna's mother, nicknamed Dragon Lady by Susanna and her best friend Evie, is constantly giving Susanna a hard time about all of her life choices, too, so she is anxious about Cannon meeting her.

When Susanna is injured, Cannon flies to London to be with her and take care of her. Things are going well, but then it just ends. They are having a conversation, make a big decision (I won't spoil it) and then Susanna talks about going to tell her family and anticipating their reactions. After our brief encounters with her parents, I was so excited to see how this played out! But after Cannon and Susanna's conversation about it, the book ends. That was very disappointing. Where is the rest of the story? Even the epilogue doesn't give any information about what happened with her family.

Overall, a really cute, sweet read about two people falling in love. Just be prepared for the abrupt ending.

Thinking About You is the second book in the Forever yours series and it can be read as stand-alone. The book's timeline for some part of it overlaps with the one of the first book, so people who have read You promised me forever, like me, are already familiar with Susanna and Cannon and how their relationship began. My favorite part of the book was the 2 happy endings that we got and I am happy that the author gave us that second happy ending in this book instead of making us wait. I would like to read Priscilla's (?) story. The lady George brought to his parents' house. She seemed like a good person who needs happiness in her life.

Susanna seemed so light hearted and carefree at first glance, but I found her very insecure and in need of talking to someone about it. I would have also liked to see her getting some sense of direction on where her life is going. She is like a leaf in the wind in some sense. Cannon is more set on his life, but things were not looking so good towards the end of the book and I am not 100% sure about that his future is going to look like.

Overall, though the book was good and I liked the characters. The early stages of their relationship were a little fairytale-ish in my mind, dreamy which is good. Later the story got a little more serious, but I was very happy with the book in total.
