She has spent more than a decade working in journalism and broadcasting, with jobs both on-air and off-air at TV stations in Louisiana, Ohio, and Oklahoma. Her work has appeared in numerous online publications, magazines and newspapers, and she is a contributing author to Chicken Soup For The Soul: The Power of Positive.

Margot had everything until one day out of jealousy, she had nothing. Her whole dream was one day becoming a TV Producer and when she is fired, she finds it hard to find another job in a similar career as it's a particular niche. Then, of course, her car wouldn't start and she was found screaming at it by her sexy new neighbor James. Soon Margot finds herself semi-spiraling and the only thing she can think that she is good at is her social media account @SocialKitten. To make matters worse, her cousin is getting married and she is the cousin that Margot is most competitive with and not only will she be dateless but also jobless and her ex-boyfriend Nick will be at the wedding. Enter James - her sexy new neighbor and a new business owner. Starting as friends, Margot and James hit it off and soon James discovers that there is more to Margot than what touches the surface or as he called her a basic white chick. With a bit of encouragement, can Margot find herself not only in a new job, new career but also a new relationship? Find out in this fun chick-lit novel by Sara Celi #SoBasic.
#SoBasic was such a sweet story! I loved both characters a lot but I mostly loved James. I am used to reading the cocky, arrogant male characters, but I just loved how James was unsure of himself and didn’t know how to show or act with his feelings for Margot. If you are looking for a sweet, caring romance about a girl trying to find her way in life after everything seems to go wrong for her, then look no further than Sara Celi’s #SoBasic!!
Fun and flirty, quick and easy, this well-written romance has some devastation, self-reflection, neighbors to friends to more, love and a dash of humour. I enjoyed this smooth romance. I voluntarily read an ARC and this is my honest review.
Adorable story that keeps you reading. She had it all. A great place to live, an amazing job at a TV Station. Unfortunately everything fell apart. Read on to find out what happens.
