I found this a really informative read, I hadn't heard, or knew very little of, most of the women mentioned in this.
I found it a little dry at times, a lot of the entries relate to politics and while I can see the relevance of the issues, I zone out a little at lots of mentions of seats, ballots etc.
That's more of a problem with my attention span rather than the book though, it really is a varied and interesting read.

This was a really interesting book. Sadly I had not heard of many of the women in this book previous to reading it. There have certainly been some notable women whom have made a significant impact on the North east of England throughout history. I like the fact that chapters are short and concise, with a photo. Many of the women featured are Suffragists or political figures.

Cannot recommend highly enough. A perfect list of people I need to remember and aspire to be like. The title encapsulates the content perfectly. While I had heard of several of the women, I had never read their histories in such detail even when I had looked for them.
