Having read and enjoyed the first book last year, Bloom for Yourself book 2 had a mixture of poetic and reflective entries that was a little more tricky to get into but was still a good read and interesting to know more about growing as a person.

Emotions need to be released, not held onto. Where
would a river go if it were able to hold back its flow?

I didn’t understand that you can stop looking at the
past whenever you decide to; even when it’s showing
up behind you, in front of you, or inside you. You can
stop looking. You can choose to start again, wherever
you are, whoever you are, whatever you have done (Two Worlds).

a note on depression:
try and find a way to make every inhale taste
beautiful again.
(the sun will eventually find its way back to you)

when you bloom for yourself, your petals touch
everything around you ( Promise Yourself).

when i was rebuilding myself:
i collected all the broken flowers
and turned them into something
very beautiful.

Solitude—my refuge from life—the only place that
brings me back to life (A place beyond the stars).

Fantastic pick me up

I love how this collection picks up where the last one left off and truly encourages you (the reader) to bring your full self into everything you do. But also the voice in this is so we'll crafted and conveyed that you don't ever feel alone or out of place in trying to do so. Beautifully written. Just a tad repetitive - which is probably intentional to remind you, to really stick with you, to say the same thing til it sticks- but just not my cup of tea!!! The rest of the collection absolutely is though

The chokehold this book has on me!!! Ugh!!! I purposely read it slowly. Because I wanted to full understand, comprehend, annotate, engulf this entire book for what it truly is. There were tons of tears shed! TONS!! This book will forever be apart of me and I will for sure always come back to this book. I think if you aren’t in this state of growth and mental stability you won’t be able to truly feel this book for all that it’s worth!! Sending copies to friends and loved ones who I think would truly benefit from reading this. I’m completely obsessed!! 🤍🤍

I loved the first Bloom For Yourself, and I loved this one just as much. April Green’s writing is simple and sweet, easy to read. The poem’s don’t always align with where I am at in my life, but I find that there’s always some that just resonate so well. I love that I’ll be able to read this again and find different poems that resonate at that time in my life. Can’t wait to read her next book now!

i liked this one better than bloom for yourself i connected more with it and i felt it had more a connection and coherency between the passages than the first one did. this one was filled with more prose and mini essays than the first one was and was a bit deeper. i guess the author connected more to the feeling behind what they were saying than last time. i know i did.

I liked this volume almost as much as the first one, though it took me a bit more to connect with the content. I could relate much more to the first volume for sure. However, it was great and I learned a couple of things about myself when reading it.

I've never read any author who so perfectly paired trauma and hope. This book was incredible. The whole collection felt so authentic and I think anyone who has dealt with trauma and is still trying to figure out how to love themselves could get something wonderful out of this. I'll be looking for a copy of the first collection to read next. Highly recommend.

I think every woman should read this book series because we forget about self love And some people not Even know that they're missing self-love myself included.It has helped me open my eyes and I hope that it could help someone else's no matter their circumstances it is a must read!
