Galactic bounty hunters on one side. A corrupt military on the other. Nowhere in the deep black of space is safe. A space opera in the deep black of space from #1 Bestselling author James David Victor
Bayne and the crew of the Deep Blue are on the run from bounty hunters and the UNS Navy that they used to serve. After a daring mission uncovers a conspiracy far deeper than they ever thought possible, they are left with nowhere to run. The only way out may be to embrace the past Bayne has done everything to avoid.
Ranger Bayne is the third book in the exciting Deep Black space opera. If you like fast-paced space adventure, rogue pirates, and stories more complex than good vs. evil, you are going to love your visit to the Deep Black.
James David Victor is the pen name used by science fiction and fantasy author David J. VanBergen Jr. for co-authored projects. It is his way of sharing more stories with you than he could write by himself.

The first two books were interesting, but this gray are writing everyone seems so fond of is not for me. I actually read fiction to get away from reality - I am old fashioned and prefer good vs evil, not outright evil vs evil that seems to permeate so much writing and other entertainment. Heck, they have even destroyed Star Trek with this double minded way of thinking.
Ranger Bayne (The Deep Black, Book 3) Short on science, this is a character/story controlled military space adventure. Can Bayne keep his crew together? Who can he trust? Quite a swashbuckling story, put it on your TBR list. I received a copy for free on a promotion and am leaving this honest review voluntarily.
I had very mixed feelings about this story. I liked it but it came across with such high drama that the characters almost became stylized or exaggerated and thus difficult to identify with.
The third instalment of the Deep Black series provides a fun read. There are twists and turns that are unexpected and enough action to hold interest. I will enjoy following the future adventures of Captain Bayne.
