Not the kind of book i would generally go for... In fact, i was stuck in an airport recently and this was one of the few books available. It was an easy, fast read. I appreciated it for teaching me time management which i am currently working on
I think the book is really interesting because it teaches us how the youth reacts to certain situations they face and what we should do as the youth to overcome the problems we face.
1. Hustle to create outstanding poetry and novels with deep insight and learning and growth. You got to write poetry and be known for it because you took the time to be bored and look for inspiration everywhere. Hustle to you means creating a side business of poetry and journaling wherein people request you to write poems for them (poetry) and pay you for it. It also means writing a lot of book reviews and journaling about anything you want that fosters and builds your growth process and mind. 2. I did not learn poetry from school. I am completely self-taught. It is a gift I was blessed with and I use it every chance I get! 3. ““If there’s one thing I know how to do well, it’s how to sell”- I write poetry and sell it through my poetry blog and certain writing websites. 4. I learned how to sell from my beloved parents. Mum the financial and honesty part. Baba the business and hustling part. I learned from my mother that you have to have a positive outlook financially in order to succeed and generate wealth and income to pursue your God-given dreams. From my Baba I learned that just because someone says no does not mean no. It means they can’t help you yes but it also means that they are a referral for something better to make you prosper and dream bigger in order to accomplish your feedback analysis and your SMART goals. Lastly it means keep working on creating content and sharing your work consistently writing and sharing on writing websites so that you gain respect and admiration from those around you through God blessing you in your writing career on the side. Your day job is important. More important so is your gift of poetry. So share your poetry no matter what people think. Someone is bound to love it and request for more poems! Which has happened multiple times. 5. Launch two new novels every four months. That means every 121 days share a new novel to your writing websites.every six weeks complete a novel. Then spend time editing and coding it on your website and share it on your fanfic blog. Then share it on your writing websites. That is three novels a year. 6. I will be an outstanding poet and fanfic writer through editing and proofing my own work and creating a website to showcase my thoughts and passions and ideas. 7. I will be able to provide myself financial stability to travel every five years in order to explore different cultures and cuisines.
BiggestTakeaway:
Sell yourself in writing projects and through reading to encourage people to do better, to be better, and to have a better life.
Quote in Summary:
“When someone doesn’t believe in you move as if God believes if you because He does and He is making a way out of no way for your success and achIevement by His Grace and Power. Believe in others and their talents and one day you will be richly rewarded.”
I've never been a fan of DJ Sbu because he is controversial, arrogant and brash. I didn't agree with everything he said in the book yet I have a newfound respect for him, his work and his achievements. I take back all the negative thoughts I had of him and choose to focus on positive uplifting thoughts. I choose to be the positive person. Just like DJ Sbu said and it's in line with Philippians 4:8. This book has me feeling inspired and motivated to pursue my passion/purpose by living authentically and starting even though I don't have all the answers. I believe I can add value and empower others with what I already have. I listened to the audio version and his voice really made the book come alive. He is an excellent story teller and I went through all the emotions with him. It is possible black child. Keep dreaming. Let's make our townships better in terms of schooling, security, lifestyle...
call it by what it is, the energy and persuasive-ness in DJ sbu is commendable when you look at it from the social-background of black males in south Africa. Though his selling insight will sound ancient to an average Nigerian because it a common energy there and nothing will seems new.
