Dangerously Curvy #2

Warning, Slippery When Wet

Rate this book
He’s a dangerous criminal.
She’s dangerously curvy.
Will she bring light into his cold dark world? Or will his darkness consume her?

Some say Garrett Chambers was born evil. Since, the day he took his first breath, he’s caused nothing but chaos, destruction and death. Some call him the Grim Reaper, because when you see him, death soon follows. Others call him a Butcher, because of his skills with the blade. One thing he’s never been called is a lying hypocrite from hell.

Until he meets her. Oni Evans. The beautiful, curvy, smart mouth writer he kidnapped as a means of retaliation against someone he used to call a friend. It isn’t long before she turns his entire world upside down and has him rethinking all of his decisions.

He doesn’t believe in nonsense like love and forgiveness. Yet, the more time he spends with her, the more he’s realizing that maybe those things aren’t so useless. Maybe he should believe in love. Maybe he should believe in forgiveness. Maybe he should believe in her.

However, after all he’s done to her, can he convince her to believe in him?

Oh, if you loved Dean and Rain's story in "WARNING: Dangerous Curves Ahead: BWWM Romantic Suspense (Dangerously Curvy Book 1)" then Oni and Garrett in "Warning: Slippery When Wet will leave you panting for another book in this series.

What started out as payback or revenge leads kidnapper, Garrett to want sweet Oni for life! What made this story for me was the loyalty of the secondary characters to Oni and the revenge plot was altered quickly! Think Stockholm Syndrome in reverse if you will-- lol! I love a story with a lot of push and pull/twists and turns and this one was just that!

I hope the rest of the misfits get their stories told too... hint-hint!

5+++ Exciting stars *****

Loved it! What a great love story! Oni and Garrett have some really good and playful banter as they fall in love. It makes you believe in that kidnapper love lol No, but really it’s a great read and I highly recommend it! Sort of an unorthodox love story anyone would be sure to enjoy!

Who knew revenge was a dish best served...with love. Beauty does in fact tame her Beast. Garrett certainly had no clue, when he kidnapped Raine 's friend Oni, in order to get his revenge on Dean. And Oni had no clue she had was being put at the mercy of a hardened killer. Garrett's plans for Oni start out on his breath to get to getting revenge, but quickly turn to something else. And every minute he spends with her, he finds he can't harm her, and not just because she's innocent in all this, but he wants her in ways he thinks she might fear him. But Oni Evans is one tough cookie, and she makes demands despite being captured. Forced to cook and clean after Garrett's men, she soon turns his hardened crew of criminals into a domestic band of misfits. She's betting her freedom on doing whatever is necessary. But what she didn't count on, was falling for the beast that's holding her captive.
This book certainly delivered on everything we loved about the first. I was actually laughing and wondering if this was the first case of reversed stockholm syndrome, when Garrett started to fall for Oni first. They were an interesting couple for sure. And Garrett gave us a bit more about the other half of the Butcher Brother's world that we didn't get with Dean. And I'm glad their friendship survived through torture and kidnap. A few grammatical mistakes, but it didn't detract from the flow of the story. And yes we would love to read about Scar if he gets a book!!

Slow burn!

This was my first book from this author, and I was pleasantly surprised. I like my romances with an edge to them, and this story was overflowing with edge, danger, and humor as well. Garrett kidnapped Oni to seek revenge on his former friend and business partner, but through a series of events, ended up falling in love with her. Oni was no pushover, and gave Garrett a run for his money! I enjoyed that the author took her time in telling this titillating story where the characters chemistry was off the charts, and the story was developed organically. Beautiful job! Now I'm off to read Rain's and Dean's story.

She was his Beauty and he was her Beast

She captured the hearts of a bunch of cold hearted vigilante killers and was their Queen. Oni Evans was supposed to be a means to get revenge on Garrett Chamber's partner and best friend Dean Collins who left him and allowed him to be tortured. Garrett was very angry that Dean did not tear the world up to rescue him for the hurt and anguish he suffered. Oni was to be tortured to get back at Dean through Dean's love interest Rain. Instead, what happened was that everyone in Garrett's crew fell in love with Oni including Garrett. He only saw women as a means to getting off. He never loved anyone before and he felt helpless to keep it from happening. She brought light to their world of darkness that life had made them into. The entire crew would protect Oni with their lives. Garrett found that he needed to own her, claim her mind, body, heart and soul. She was his and he was hers.

Oni finally found her place with her adoptive band of misfit crew who were all dealt a bad hand at life that turned them into the men they were. They accepted her the way she was, fat and all. Her own family would not miss her being gone for so long. She became estranged from her mother and sister after her father was murdered by the Triad. They were always critical of her.

M'Renee wrote a very detailed story about how a misfit band of murderers evolved from ruthless revengefull killers to vigilantes who were doing jobs that the law failed to do. Each member of Garrett's crew, including Oni, were dealt hard blows life gave them. They all thought they did not need love in their life but they all needed and loved each other in their own way. It tickled me to read their interactions with each other. They had the banter of a real family with their joking around. Oni's self talk about her Lioness was so funny to read. She had a hard time resisting Garrett and chalked it up to Stockholm Syndrome but no, she was in love and so was he. I was glad to read that Garrett and Dean worked out their differences and everyone got their HEA, except for Scar. I guess we will be reading about him in another book.

Oh my!! What a Read!!

I enjoyed every mad, brutal, hilarious, insanely romantic yet poignant moment of this novel which led me on a rollercoaster ride that did not stop until the final full stop was read. In is one of my favourite heroines ever!! The hero, Garrett, is a brutal psychotic killer who shoots first and then asks questions but Oni becomes his Nemesis and she truly owns him as he does her. Their sexual chemistry off the charts and once they know each other there is no turning back. The banter between Oni and her kidnappers had me in stitches and so the ' killer crew' becomes more than kidnappers they become her friends. You have to read the story to understand the eels and the interaction between a motley band of killers who become so much more to On i and to the readers. The plot becomes very complicated and Oni's life is in danger...again but her kidnappers become her saviours. Loved it!! I truly became invested in the characters and am hoping that the author will create a happy ending for each of these characters as they deserve it. In fact the ending to the novel was wonderful except for Scar who is missing. I am hoping that the author will create a story for him as he has worked his way into my heart. That would be a great next novel though I have to admit it's going to be difficult to top this novel for romance, suspense and humour. But I shall leave it to the expert, Ms. Allen!! I have every faith in you!

This is the second installment in the Curvy Series and I must say I loved it more than the first. Oni aka Beauty and Garrett aka Beast were so made for each other.

This story built on things that happened in book one so I would advise readers to start there. Once caught up to speed they will enjoy this story so much more.

One of the main things I really loved about this book was the cast of supporting characters. The Killer Squad was so dope. If I was Oni, I would have wanted to stay too. The writer did such a good job with the extra characters that I felt like I had a relationship with each and every one of them. I especially enjoyed Nik, who was a very bad joke teller and Liam who was a sweet kid with a big heart. When the crew dubbed Oni their queen, I swooned.

Garrett was a prick in book one and that sort of bled over into this book, until I realized his reasoning for being so mean. As the saying goes, hurt people, hurt people. Once he calmed down enough to recognize he needed and loved Oni, he became so much more attractive.

I enjoyed the battle of wills between Garrett and Oni. Even though she was the person who was kidnapped, she ended up calling the shots most of the time. This was a great story with a great ending. I look forward to the next book in the series.

Oni and her Beast

Garret finds himself betrayed by an business associate with the expectations that his brother would move heaven and earth to rescue him. It doesnt go as plans.

Revenge becomes his reason to keep going. Revemge against the one he calls brother. However, he didnt expect guilt to keep tugging at him. Nor did he expect love to take a hold of him.

Oni is doing her friendly duties and checking up on her bestie sincr she hadny heard from her in weeks. She crosses Garret's path and offers him help because of the physical state he was in.

Oni now fins herself a part of a revenge plot because of who she knows and not because of something she did.

Of Oni is is trying to find a solution to this unfortunate circumstance. She builds deeper connections with the mixed band of brotherhood and begins to questions what she wants.

This story is a good follow up in this series. You have two people that lost the only person that chose them out of love, not duty of obligation. Now as adults, they want to be chosen again and this story takes them on a journey of how being chosen out of love truely looks for them.

Such a fun read!

A lot of typos and super long but other than that (and "females" I cannot stand that damn word to describe women) the story was good enough that I could gloss over the grammar and "females" bit.

Overall I enjoyed it a notch above the Dean and Rain story. Garrett's craziness was justified and it helped knowing there was no way in hell he'd ever really hurt Oni physically (too much) but the edge was still there because of the emotional and psychological torture Oni was put through. It was strong enough to make the story "twisted" and pushed buttons without being grotesque. I really really can't wait to read Scar's story and over all 4 stars and two thumbs up. It was a fun read that was good but not SO good that I couldn't pause when reading (which is a compliment) because the story was very well divided into acts/parts that let you fall asleep without feeling like you were missing something.

Fun read and story well told.

I wasn't for sure what I was getting myself into with Garrett's and Oni's story after reading book one, but it definitely wasn't this. This book right here. . . right here. . . was freaking amazing!

Garrett is my kind of crazy and Oni is my type of BFF. Together, they were unstoppable. The chemistry is chef's kiss 😘 Nothing felt rushed or strained. It was all organic. They made me wish I could get kidnapped, so I can fall in love with a man who wants to torture me and dump my body in the river after cutting it up into a million pieces.

Garrett's character arc is written to perfection. The man stays on crazy, yet stills grows as a person. He maybe one of the most ruthless men in the world, but he has a heart of gold.

This book has it all - danger, excitement, humor, spice, and more. It was like watching a movie in your head that you never want to end (but you do b/c it's hella long).

Longer than the first but so good

This was the second book in the series and let me tell you it is a much longer read than the first. With that being sad it is a gooos book. Oni meets Garrett when she goes looking for her friend Rain. He kidnaps her and tells her that he is going to torture her because of Dean. Oni is definitely a fierce woman. Despite being in the hands of a man who said he was going to torture her she still kept her mouth going! She wouldn't let him know that she was even slightly afraid of him or what he could do. Thankfully for her he couldn't go through with it. He knew all along that it was wrong. Even better for him he was able to end her sex drought! Even better then that, they fell in love. This was a really good story that really did need to be a bit longer than the first book. Can't wait to read what's next!

Better than the first

This book was Awesome. I loved Beast and his Beauty. I fell in love with Garret's entire crew. I cannot wait for the others to get their story. I loved that Oni was thicker than acceptable but Garret loved all of her. Their relationship was so freaking tangible, it was like you could reach out and touch them, like watching a movie, it was just that vivid. There were a few grammatical errors but not enough to take way from the book. I think I have found another series to fall in love with. I hope each book keeps getting better. I hope we get to visit Beast and his Beauty again. I hope we get to revisit the entire Killa Crew. I highly recommend this book.

I selected this book on a whim ai selected this nd what a great read it turned out to be. I absolutely loved it. The badass yet hilarious characters had me hooked from beginning to the end. I hope to hear more of the other characters in the story. I would definitely recommend this book.

I selected this book on a whim and to my delight I had a fantastic reading experience. The connections between the characters (who were badass yet hilarious) kept me hooked from beginning to end. I would like to know more about the other characters, especially Liam and Nix, in future titles. I would definitely recommend this book

Omg!

Who is this author and where has she been hiding?! I loved these 2 books. I didn't think she could do better than the first book and BOOM she knocked it out of the park! I have few books on my favorite list and this book has managed to make it on that list. I loved all the guys. Oni and Garrett were perfect together. I was worried that the author was going to start Oni out as a strong female at the beginning of the book and as the book progressed she would become weak. So many author do that these days and it drives me nuts, thank goodness Oni remained a bad ass the entire book. Can't wait for more books from this author. She's officially on my watch list!

Garett had my feelings all over the place for him. I understood why he was pissed but had mixed feelings with him taking it out on Oni. Then I was like nah he’s doing to much. His transition from hate to lust to like to love was realistic. However I didn’t feel the same way about Oni’s. I definitely loved her personality and slick mouth and impulsiveness and how she clicked with the killing crew.

But her “murdery” ways were not plausible to me. Glad things all worked out.

Garett and Dean’s reconciliation was a little too quickl for me but I guess.

It was so cute to see the fellas with Yaakov and Yara.

I hope scar is ok. Can’t wait to read his book in the future. Now time for book 3

Onni Tried To Kill Garrett and he Fell In Love

What a sick phu$k. Onni told him she would burn the house down with her and him in it if he tried to cage her and his response was: as long as she is by his side he will gladly burn. She tried to stifle him with a pillow while he was recovering from a blood transfusion that she agreed to. He woke up b4 she could succeed and he was all googly eyes for his dangerously curvy sweet heart. OMG!! When Onni asked Garrett if he’s hungry and he said yes then Onni’s reply was she can feed him, I lost my damn mind. Onni turned hm out. I enjoyed her teaching a hitman how to perform. He was a virgin in many aspects.

Garrett and Oni

Oni was kidnapped, but was no shrinking violet. She was both tough - tried to kill her kidnapper, and tender - took care of her kidnappers. Garrett was full of rage; he had been captured, tortured and felt betrayed by his brother. He kidnaps Oni for revenge and his life is changed as a result. I like how the author took the time to gradually develop common ground, understanding before any type of relationship developed. It made sense that Oni was captive for months rather than a relationship developing overnight. I enjoyed this story.

Beast & Beauty

Wow, can’t believe Garrett had a whole other life right under Dean and Mariam’s nose …and no one the wiser !! Oni is right when he called him out as a hypocrite! lol . Don’t get me wrong i like the man, he is a decent man if you can call a killer that… his group of misfits proved that, but sometimes his reasoning is wracked.
Anyway, I am liking this series and my heart goes out to them Killas, everyone of them have a heartbreaking story. Liam’s made me cried.
Oni and Garrett belonged together, they are perfectly matched.

just fantastic

Great characters. Great story. Great evolution of characters. Great dialogue. Just fantastic. Great writing. M’Renee Allen loves her craft and you can tell she wields a wicked pen. I’ll read whatever she writes. I told generally like mafia and assassin stories but I make an exception every time if it’s written by M’Renee Allen. Action packed. Smutty. Great funny dialogue. Just bravo! I needed this crazy ass story to make me laugh and cry. It delivered it all.

LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS BOOK!!!!

I am loving this series. I liked the book with Dean and Rain but I absolutely loved this book and Garrett and Oni . It's a long book but it is soooo good. This is one of the best books I have read this year. I can't wait to read about the rest of the Killer Crew. I'm already in love with them. If you are looking for a good read please stop and read this book. You won't regret it.

OMG 😍

This book was sooooo DAMN good 🙌🏾👌🏾🙏🏽. I fell in love with Garrett aka Beast 💪🏻 who fell in love with Oni aka Beauty. (Oni call Garrett that as a derogatory name(him being a "beast" towards her in the beginning, but after falling for Garrett, it became a loving pet name; which he started calling her "beauty" afterwards. I thought Rain and Dean story was good... Whew Chile 🙌🏾🙌🏾. This one was far BETTER 🤤😎🙌🏾.

Too long

This book was too long. It got repetitive. The part I read was funny. I was laughing at Oni and Garrett a lot. Maybe I will finish reading it. It's just too many words. I thought it was about Oni and Garrett, it was about everybody. Everybody was talking. Rain and Dean had the first book. Why not get to the point of this book quickly? I think I was pause reading your books saying everything over and over.

Perfectly Awesome IR Suspense Romance

M’Renee Allen is a wordsmith of the highest order 🙌🏽. In Garrett’s Temptation this ✍🏼 will have you 😂 with her hilarious banter between the 💯 scary Alpha Beast Garrett & his sassy Beauty Oni… The characters jump off the pages & you fear & worry for them as the suspense builds😳! It was so hard to put this 💴down to get on with my work IRL😎. It was also great to “see” Dean & Rain from the first book; and the end was simply thrilling🤗. I can’t wait to read the next 2 📚 in the series 💃🏻

loved it

Loved all the series so far. The writing had me glued to the page desperate to get to the end but not wanting it to finish too soon. Book 2 and 4 are my favourite but I loved them all. I loved all the characters and the dialogue had me LOL at times. Roll on book 5. I hope it’s not too long before it’s released because you forget what’s happened and you then have to go back to re-read and I’ve already done that twice. My only other criticism is that the woman don’t all have to be BBW, don’t know why they just can’t be BW! Eva was in the field so ideally should have been ripped but I still loved the series and this book especially
