Three things matter: What you want. What you have. And the distance between them.
L.A. is the capital of unfulfilled desire. After busting my ass for years in the City of Angels, I’m handed the flagship location of the hottest new fashion label in the country…
If I can pass one test.
Enter Kent. My boss’ friend is 100%, fresh-squeezed California, from the hard body to the easy grin to the sky-high confidence.
He offers me a one-week deal. He’ll help me get over my fears if I teach him how to sell his boards at the biggest surf championship in the world.
The problem? It’s not easy to help him and ignore how he looks at me. To learn from him, without being seduced by his carpe diem lifestyle.
Because Kent might be a good friend but he goes through women like a missile. There’s no way I’m falling for a guy like that again.
If we follow the rules of our deal, he’ll walk away and we’ll both be satisfied.
Unless one of us decides we’ve been chasing the wrong thing all along…
Satisfaction is a steamy 150-page novella in bestselling author Piper Lawson’s hit TRAVESTY series about smart women with big dreams and the hot-as-hell guys that get in the way!
Piper Lawson is a Wall Street Journal and USA Today bestselling author of smart, steamy romance! She writes about women who follow their dreams (even the scary ones), best friends who know your dirty secrets (and love you anyway), and complex heroes you’ll fall hard for (especially after talking with them). Brains or brawn? She’ll never make you choose. Piper lives in Canada with her tall, dark and brilliant husband. She believes peanut butter is a protein, rose gold is a neutral, and love is ALWAYS the answer.
I received a copy and voluntarily left a review and all opinions are my own.
I have seriously fallen in love with the Travesty series from the moment I met Lexi and Dylan in Schooled and my love for the series has grown with each new couple that Piper Lawson has created for reader's enjoyment. After getting to know Dahlia and Kent, her newest couple in “Satisfaction”, I was just as enamored and ready for the scorching heat that Piper is known for delivering with all of her books.
Dahlia is a business woman that needs to learn to step into the spotlight and own her success. Now is her time, but all she seems to do is fumble and embarrass herself. That is until Kent, who is a great friend with an equally hot body to match, brings out the “super girl” in her and shows her how amazing she truly is. I loved seeing Dahlia through Kent's eyes and learning more about this heroine who is far stronger than she thinks and can conquer anything she sets her mind to.
I could not wait to cozy up to the delicious Kent that we have known since the beginning of the Travesty series. Piper shows us that there is so much more to this golden, yummy surfer boy than his gorgeous looks and hard body. It was great getting down and dirty with this sweet and funny hero and finally seeing him find his own love.
Piper delivers another pulse pounding, heart melting read that keeps readers coming back to her fictional couples over and over again. I highly recommend the newest couple of the Travesty series for another trip down the much traveled road of romance where you will enjoy every bump and jostle along the way. Piper always hooks me from the first page and keeps me hanging on long after the last page of her story is read.
I received an ARC of this book and this is my voluntarily, honest review of it.
Great news for the readers who have been following the ‘Travesty’ series. We finally get Kent’s story! Yes!!! Kent has been part of the ‘Travesty’ series from the very beginning. He was the easy going, fun, loyal friend throughout the series. Always there when someone needed help. I have been looking forward to reading his story for a long time now and it was definitely worth the wait because Dahlia is a great girl, perfect for Kent.
I really enjoyed this friends to lovers story. I knew from previous book that I have read that the writer Piper Lawson writes sweet, easy to read (but still steamy) romance stories and this one was the same. Kent may act like a ‘playboy’ but he’s a great friend to have. Something that Dahlia can confirm. She only knows Kent for a year but in that year they became great friends. Whenever Kent comes to LA, they meet up. But this time something is changing between them and both aren’t sure if that is good thing or a bad thing. Because one thing that Kent doesn’t do, is relationships. And that’s just something that Dahlia is looking for. But once you crossed the line between friendship to lovers, it is hard to get hard to get back to just being friends. So, what happens then?
The story is told in both POV’s. ‘Satisfaction’ is a novella long story. I really loved both Kent and Dahlia character. They were loyal to their friends and they matched each other in important ways. It was great seeing the other couples back from the previous books.
Book 5 in Piper Lawson’s Travesty series is a wonderful 110 page friends to lovers novella featuring Travesty’s LA Store Assistant Manager Dahlia, and Jordan’s friend (super sexy surfer dude), Kent. A lovely story with an adorably cute couple, who, on paper are complete opposites, but in reality they’re meant to be. Both secretly crushing on the other, both helping the other in their career, both unwilling to put themselves out there. I loved the story, the writing and the characters. This book is best enjoyed having read the previous Travesty books, it can however be read as a standalone. I loved it. I received an advanced copy of this book from the author. This is my honest review.
I believe 2019 is the year of freaking awesome books. I’ve had a 100% strike rate so far and Satisfaction is no different. I loved Kent and Dahlia. Like the story, their easy going friendship turns to sexy hotness. Although the story is a novella it was a great read filled to the brim.
Kent is the smart sexy business man turned blonde god surfer. His visit to LA should be simple, but running into Dahlia whom he has listed for only makes his week even more full on. As new store manager of Travesty she is thrown in the deep end when Ava, Lex and Jordan all go away she is left to be the voice of the company to a new interview. So with a pact to help each other out, they fall for that unmistakable pull that’s always been there. Working together is one thing but falling in love only makes leaving harder.
Satisfaction is Another great story to the Travesty family, if you haven’t read this series get into it, Piper has created an awesome series filled with everything from friendship, love, loss Highs, lows. Each story shows off a new couple.
**I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest voluntary review. All opinions are my own and not influenced by my source.**
This is super sexy! I loved returning to this fabulous world Piper has created. She really writes great romance between her characters--and I love the strength of her female heroes and how that's never diminished by the hero.
The synopsis is slightly deceptive in the sense that there isn't a whole lot of scenes regarding the "one-week deal" but I was ok with that because we get these other great scenes between Kent and Dahlia.
Would I have loved a full novel? You bet! I think you'll get more out of this book if you've read the full novels in the series because you will see how this romance has been building since the start. A lot of things are assumed here (based on your knowledge of the previous books) but I think this novella serves as a special treat for fans of the series---or a great way for new fans to get excited about diving into this fantastic series!
I liked Kent and Dahlia's story, and I loved the characters. Ever since the first book in the Travesty series, I've hoped for a happily ever after for Kent, and I'm glad he got it. My issue with this book, and the reason I gave it four stars instead of five, is two-fold. First, there were a number of spelling/typos and grammatical mistakes which are just inexcusable for a best selling author to have in her books. I noticed that as the Travesty series progressed, each book had more and more such mistakes, and it's really a shame because Piper's a talented writer. She clearly needs a new editor because her current one is asleep on the job! My second reason for taking off a star is because there were pacing issues with this book. For one, it was a shorter book, and it didn't need to be. In fact, it should've been a little longer to fix the pacing issues. We had a fairly decent build-up between Kent and Dahlia, and then suddenly, we rushed right through everything and BAM...they were together and the book ended abruptly. It felt like Piper got most of the way through the book and maybe just didn't want to keep going or had other things to do, so she just skipped ahead, deleting about five or six chapters and just threw the characters together. If you've read any of her other books, you know nobody gets together or initially stays together so easily. This book was definitely a rush job. Kent deserved better after waiting through four other books to get his own. It was disappointing. I will say kudos to Piper for not relying on the misunderstanding/false assumption plot device she all too often employs. So thank God for that, at least!
Another fun visit with the cast of Travesty. This time, Jordan, Lex & Ava are entrusting Dahlia with an important magazine interview and photo spread. Her success ensures she will be the store manager but there is one problem, Dahlia gets ‘stage fright’ in these types of situations. How will she conquer her fears and succeed? Kent is visiting LA and hopes to make an impression at the surfing competition with his boards otherwise his business is going nowhere. Now Kent and Dahlia have had sparks but have kept each other in the friend zone. When they need each other’s help to succeed, will they realize that they should be more than friends? I love this series and enjoyed the push-pull between Dahlia and Kent as they fought their attraction but well, then finally found love. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
Satisfaction 100!!! I was so happy to read Kent’s story. He’s been friends with this group from the beginning. He’s loyal, helpful, sweet, kind and trying to get his surf board business on the map. Dahlia is sweet, a loyal employee and great friend. Kent and Dahlia have developed a special friendship over the last year. After her new promotion at Travesty she is left to handle an interview for her bosses while they are all away. With everyone away and Kent in town they realized they need each the others help with their work. Will helping each other also make them realized their true feelings??? Can they cross the friendship line without losing? I love this series so much and was so happy to get more.
😅 Confession - I didn't remember putting this book on hold. And then when it was available I low key mixed it up thinking it was a Piper Rayne title - and was a bit confused. The tone was obviously different - and I never mind reading things out of order...
So it was a cute story. It seemed the hero had been hung up on the heroine forever.
I actually think Kent was super sweet - although he kinda ... I dunno was too /so focused on his business - it was nice that the heroine was there to be like "it might not just magically happen for you" - and/but then OF COURSE IT DOES.
I actually forgot Dahlia was the heroine's name - Dal - and Mac is :X kinda too much. I didn't entirely find all Dal did etc so believable but they do work and are a good fit for each other.
I've wavering between 2 and 3 stars ...
C-- maybe C---
not great just not bad. Nothing that memorable - it really felt more like an intro to a romance than a fill romance AND YES I KNOW IT WAS A NOVELLA.
Dahlia (Dal), one of the newer employees to the Travesty team is quite an innocent character. She has recently split from her boyfriend and trying to sort her life out. Ava surprised Dal by offering her a new position as the manager of the LA store. This is definitely out of her comfort zone, but she is up for the challenge.
Her good friend Kent is a great support for her, while he is in town, and it's when they spend a bit more time together that they both notice the attraction between them. Will they both try to resist for the sake of their friendship? Or will their feeling take over?
I've read the previous books in the Travesty series, you don't need to read them to enjoy this book. I highly recommend them as well, if you haven't read them. Piper writes her characters so well that you feel you KNOW them and get engrossed in their story. I have a hard time putting down any of her books. Dal & Kent start out as friends, but there's chemistry there - they just need the confidence to make it work. This book may be a novella, but it is definitely not short on story. *ARC received for honest review
I have read all 5 books in this series and I absolutely love it! Each couple is my favorite which include Kent & Dahlia. I love how they are friends that support one another and I am happy that they come together as a couple. What I love most in this series is how each of the couples make an appearance in each story and you are able to catch up with where they all are in their lives. We were intruduced to 2 more characters that I would love to learn more about like Kayli and Mac. I am not ready for this series - these amazing characters - to end!!
After finding travesty book number 1 I’ve been hooked from start to finish on each and every book. But Satisfaction has to be my favourite! I love Kent and Dal’s story of helping her overcome fears and empowering her and also at the same time realising they were in love and had a chemistry more then friends. I really wish there was another book to continue with Kent and Dal’s story see where it goes!! It’s left me wanting to know more and more. Another fantastic story from Piper Lawson I’m thoroughly enjoying reading all her different story book sets.
First things, first: They are so cute!! I needed to let this out of my chest. Second thing: I feel robbed! How come this two only have a 13 chapters story?? I want more! I need more!
This was such a light, sexy, fun and fresh short book. No forced drama, normal approximation from both sides, friends-to-lovers...it was great! Kent is such a fluffy person inside those muscles and Dahlia has the muscles of a boxer fighter beneath that fluffy personality!
Really liked the book, sad it was so short...but a GRAND FINALE for the series!
This is a short, but enjoyable read. Dalia and Kent were both likable characters who were honest with one another, once they finally stopped fighting their mutual attraction. Prior to that, the tension was bearable because it was clear they would eventually succumb. A peripheral character made a great comment in regard to surfing, which was perfect foreshadowing, “If you love something, you never really walk away from it.” Truer words have never been spoken.
First of all, I love all things Travesty, so I was just excited to be back with my friends. This little novella about Kent and Dal felt just like summer. It's warm, bright, fun, and ended way too soon! I loved being with these two and loved continuing the adventure that is Travesty. If only it could have lasted longer! I could have read 150 more pages of these two! Hopefully we get to see more of them in the future. I recommend this book as I recommend this fun series!
4 1/2 STARS! Book five in the Travesty series. Can be read and enjoyed as stand-alone. Secondary characters the same throughout the series. Novella length told in dual POV with HEA. I have read the series in order and was so happy to read Kent and Dahlia’s story! They were both so sweet, I just wish there was more of them together and making it work in the future. I would have loved an epilogue!!
Travesty fans—we finally get to see Kent find his girl!!! This is a novella length book and while you get a small update from past Travesty couples, it really focuses on Kent and Dahlia. It’s a sweet story that I absolutely could not put down!! Kent finally got the girl he deserves and I couldn’t be more excited for this book.
Kent....... what an amazing character you have written in Kent I’m so glad he got a book too. Like all your books it shows the guys chasing after the girls. Dahlia is an adorable character and she perfect for Kent.
I loved this whole series and I hope that we will see more in the future. X
Just like the last book, I wasn’t sure at first if I’d bother reading it because I wasn’t that emotionally invented in the main characters as the ones in the first 3 books, but it didn’t take me long to realize that Piper Lawson can make anyone fall in love with the characters she creates. This was a really fun read!
Funny and flirty equal fabulous. I love the Travesty series. Piper Lawson tempts with a sassy dialogue, a rockin' cast of characters and the chemistry to back it up. Kent and Dahlia are not to be missed. Their story was a long time coming, but totally worth the wait.
3* Dahlia & Kent have an easy going friendships he builds surf boards she names them. Will either of them admit their feelings? I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book Quick read
Beautifully written and so realistically believable it was difficult to put down. Piper Lawson is an amazing writer and her series of books (Travesty) and all her characters have captivated from book 1 to book 5...gotta read.
I read this entire series in just a couple of days. The characters are the kind of people you want to be friends with in real life. I hope there are more plotlines to come, I want to see what comes next.
I’ve enjoyed reading all 5 stories in this series and loved each one. I’m saddened this is the last one but glad all the main girls finally found love and success.
