Another Sarah and Charles adventure. The weird thing is that the author brings up a conflict but then it’s suddenly just gone as if thinking, “nope, the readers can’t handle conflict. It must be like a hallmark movie with no rough edges.” I’m beyond the halfway point in the series so the impetus is there to keep going and finish. It was the right foil for a book to read after my last serious book.

In this the 6th book of Carol Dean Jones's quilting mystery series, Sarah is on a peaceful quilting retreat. She befriends Holly Harper and once again, set against the backdrop of the Appalachian Mountains, a mystery occurs. 

A woman has disappeared from the lodge and when Sarah discovers that the woman is the mother of one the women staying at the retreat, well she can't help but get involved. Having suffered a sprained ankle Charles is soon by her side and helping with the investigation. 

Moon Over the Mountain is probably the most descriptive of all the books so far. It is filled with the culture of the people, the customs, the mountain walks are just divine to read about and of course the quilting is a major factor. The Crafts Museum visit is something I would love to go to. 

The mystery is good and again this quick read has some fabulous characters. The local characters are amazing and I especially liked  Ricky, although it isn't all good for him.

A very pleasant book. A little slow at times, but I enjoyed watching two seventy-somethings go about solving a problem for much younger people.

These are such a fast read......I start the book and before I know it I am done.....I love that.....I also enjoy how the author brings in an awareness of things happening right in front of us.....This book looked at abandonment, one of the other books spoke about keeping secrets within a family, being embarrassed, dealing with illness and love in older adults.

And of course the mystery to solve (not all of them are about murder!! LOL)......and the quilting patterns that the author shares in the books are great fun!!

My main problem now is finding the series in my library. Apparently there aren't actual books to hold but they are eBooks so I am going to have to resort to those. I am not a huge fan of reading online though.....

Well, the author's editing team did miss some of the errors in the book. Nothing major, but it always irritates me to find them.

I enjoyed the story and especially the quilting. Though Sarah has certainly become quite an expert in a short time! I'm also not sure that the average person would extend their trip by so long and that her husband would really come out to investigate the disappearance of a widower.

The side story with Sophie is amusing, as always. I do wonder how these people have the money for all their travels. Retirement communities are not cheap.

The cover art is beautiful! I love the quilt block pattern it depicts.

A stretch...

Another very slow start, then into a rather unbelievable tale. This was a let down after a couple better books. Reading this series us like being on a roller coaster - bad, ok, good, good, bad

Interesting book and gives a small insight into how people can look out for each other even when it doesn't seem to be a simple, safe choice. A good reminder to help out as you see the need, when you can.

I have been reading this quilting cozy mystery series in order. This one was really interesting, much more than the last book. This held my attention, had a better flow to it, and I looked forward to how things would be solved.

The setting was the beautiful Smoky Mountains where Sarah went on a quilting retreat. This introduced me to a new quilt pattern, moon over the mountain. There was quite a bit more about quilting in this book and as a quilter, I loved that.

Sarah and the cast of characters are all senior citizens which is different and very entertaining. They are all good people that you would like to be friends with.

Being a cozy, there is a mystery to be solved. This time it was very different than the usual murder. It involves a missing person.

I'm looking forward to the next book. This is a book and series that I'd recommend if you are looking for a light cozy mystery that involves quilting!

Really enjoyed reading this wonderful story about Sarah Parker's lasted adventures which took place in one of my favorite places to visit.
