Hmmm....A new to me cheating tale,oddly described as a second chance Romance when it is not a Reconciliation tale.This messed up my expectations and thwarted my enjoyment as I first kept wondering when things would improve with the MIT and then thought, oh no !.Kane the new love ,is temporary? I soon came to realize that this label had to be a misnomer...or that it references a different kind of second chance.Kane finally allowing himself to live and love again after the death of the woman he saw as his forever. He would move on with betrayed wife and cheating victim,Rosa.
So disappointing initially, but improved tremendously when I realized I could invest in Kane and Rosa's love. Rosa labeled frigid by her ex,is multi orgasmic in Kane's capable hands!🔥🔥🔥

This was a angsty read about a woman that dealt with a cheating husband who left her for another woman but instead of living life and letting him go she held onto some hope that he'd come back and they'd pick up life as it was before. Then Tosa meets Kane when he helps with a garden project ( he's a professor) and there's a connection. Kane has past relationship issues of his own.

I liked the book, it didnt have the punch in the gut angst I really crave but I thought it was a decent read and kept me entertained.

Wow, what an emotional powerful read from this author. This book just sucks you in and keeps you reading long into the night. This is a gripping very well written story. Amazing characters with very intense chemistry between them through out the story. This is the first book by this author that I've read and it definitely won't be the last. I can't wait to read more from this author in the future.

Reading about Rosa‘s divorce and her husbands antics felt very stressful at first as I could emphasise with her going through a similar thing myself. Karma came to the rescue and she found justice and even love again.
Still waiting for Karma to come to my aid.

A captivating well written interesting romance. The characters are intriguing and relateable. Kane and Rosa are both broken people dealing with their own problems. Rosa betrayed by her cheating husband leaving her devastated but what if her ex doesn't seem to want to let her go. Kane has his own problems and an ex trying to take everything. A wonderful story full of unexpected surprises including Kane helping Rosa see she can be loved.

This was a great and emotional story. The author really captures the rollercoaster of emotions Rosa goes through after being blindsided by her husband's cheating. I enjoyed how Rosa's character developed as she came to terms with the end of her marriage, and realized how her marriage had robbed her sense of self. With the help of her sister and the very hot and sexy Kane, she is able to push forward growing into the person she was meant to be.

Any reader that has ever gone through a break-up or has been cheated on will certainly identify with the emotions Rosa battles, as well as the fear and uncertainty of learning to love again. The book was well written and I definitely recommend it.

My first book by author Megan Hetherington and I instantly felt a connection to this author’s style of writing. The character development throughout the story really made me want to fall at my knees and beg for more books.

Rosa has lots of hard times and struggles through this story but she honestly made me want to fall over laughing at times too, not one to take life lightly she hangs in there until she can make it through finding her own ways to deal with the upset but I commend her ability to bounce back ten times stronger even when it felt as though all her hopes and dreams were slowly fading away. She was a absolutely refreshing version of the lead female role that I wish we had more in romance.

Kane was an amazing guy, although he did have demons lurking in the background but it was how he chose to slay those demons that had me falling in love with him and rooting for the happily ever after he really did deserve! Admiral, loyal and super sexy is always a winning combination for me in any man but I also lived his quiet vulnerable side that Megan wasn’t afraid to embrace in this book!

A fantastic start to my new addiction I really can’t wait to read more

I found this a great little story!

A great tale of life after heartbreak and how with the right people in your life you can get through anything!
I loved how the writer was able to build up the suspense with Rosa’s ex husband and and sexual chemistry between Rosa and Kane.
Only reason I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 was because I felt the end was a little rushed but I still really enjoyed this book!

What I liked/Didn’t Like: I loved how this one takes you on the stages of grief throughout Rosa’s Divorce. I also liked how Kane helps her see that she can be loved, This was my first book by this author and was well worth reading.

I haven't read this author before & didn't know what to expect. However I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed this.

I think Rosa was caught up aura of marrying a slightly older man & the lifestyle it bought. They are both architects her giving up her career then beginning to restart it when she notices something altering her to his infidelity. This is really where the story begins.

Just like death divorce brings various stages of grief & we go through these with her from the revenge, tears, self-worth & more. I loved her pet hate name for Charles & how she refers to him in the book. Without realising it Rosa does several things to make herself stronger & is aided by her more free spirited sister Poppy. Another issue she had was the friends & how the sides divide on divorce. Then don't forget the gossip from being in a small village. She has a lot on her hands especially when it comes to the settlement which causes her ex to go into a strange mode. I won't divulge any details here.

Then we have Kane, who seems ideal on the outside but he too is struggling with his inner demons & letting go of his past. I really liked him & he is more than the gardener her ex thinks he is. Their relationship is quite touching & steamy, something she never had with her husband.

Just when you think everything is rosy of course they hit a snag & nothing runs smoothly for our lovers even too for the ex.

I genuinely enjoyed Rosa's journey of finding herself especially with Kane in tow. As for the ex, let's just say he got his just desserts.

This book is so good! I honestly can't recommend it enough for you to read. Rosa's story sucks you in and you cheer for her the whole way after the start. Her journey is hard to follow at points, however, because of the realism. Must read!

Great second chance romance

This is by far the best second chance romance I've read. NO weak female lead. NO running back to the douchebag ex. NO treating the female like trash and getting away with it.

Belle may start out devastated but her character grows throughout the book and it is awesome how the author has done this. Kane is growing through his own issues and there was a point I was worried that might get in the way.

Ms. Hetherington wrote a great plot that I couldn't put down. There were points of happiness, sadness, suspense and love. It was amazing.

I kinda enjoyed the drama in the beginning, but that’s it

Rosa was useless and an alcoholic for the first 25%+ of the book. It got old. She’s also useless at the end of the book during the final confrontation. I don’t understand how she’s attractive to any man, let alone Mr. Hottie Professor.

I skimmed a lot because there’s a lot of filler and I obviously didn’t like the main character much.

I got to 30% and had enough.
Found the fmc very meek & stupid at times
I get that she’s going through stuff but I would have like to see her get a back bone instead of telling me about decor I care nothing for.

So no real consequences for the ex who committed some serious crimes. I also didn't like how the dog was just shuffled off to a relative like an afterthought while they go on a very long vacation with no thoughts on how long they'll be gone.. At that point, why even give the H a dog if he doesn't seem to care that much about her?

Loved it!

I enjoyed this book so much. My heart hurt for Rosa at the beginning. She then meets Kane and her backbone starts to stiffen. A very satisfying end to this great read!

Cute and spicy read

Really enjoyed this book. I love how sometimes loves conquer all. All you need is love. Such a easy read for a 6 hour car ride to Cornwall, uk.
