Cuffing season was supposed to be about finding a hook-up to keep her warm during the cold Kentucky winter nights. T.A. wasn’t looking for Mr. Right; she just wanted Mr. Available.
That was before she met Dalton Andrews. The widower was nursing a broken heart, and the only thing he wanted was a woman to take his grown kids’ minds off worrying about him.

It was supposed to be a trade-off—he would keep her warm and toasty during the nights, and she would put up a smokescreen in front of his kids during the days. It was a win-win situation.
That was until the famous actor decided he wanted out of the deal and Mr. Available was a no-show during the biggest snowstorm of the year.

Poor schmuck didn’t realize that all the drama he had experienced in Tinseltown was nothing compared to dealing with this bitch.

2 ⭐⭐ - Meh!
==========================
UPDATE: Reread 23 February 2021
---------------------------

Rereading the author's books in the order indicated by her while I wait for Gavin's third book.

=============================
2018

I can't even express my disappointment.
What happened to the author's writing?
It has completely changed in the last books that I can no longer recognize her voice or style in the story.
An insipid story and with annoying heroes that ends abruptly and unsatisfactorily.
I got annoyed even with the Biker Bitches, and I've always liked them a lot.
The story dragged on and it took me 3 days to finish, simply because nothing kept me interested.
The author reveals a secret that leaves a hook for the next book, but I confess I'm scared.
I was very sad. Moving on.

“I’ve never been accused of being smart.” Holding her hand out, she introduced herself. “I’m T.A.”

Dalton walked to the counter. “Because I think you’re attracted to me, and the feeling is not mutual.”

“It was never my intention to try to replace Oceane.”

“I think you want us to be more than friends.”

“Yes. I’m the filler.

What’s a filler?”

“You know, like when one of them wants someone to go shopping with them when everyone else is busy, or someone to go to movies with that no one else wants to see, or take to dinner, so they don’t have to eat alone in a restaurant. That’s a filler.

He didn’t want to move on from Oceane; he wanted his heart to stay right where it belonged.

“Don’t, T.A. I’ve already told you I’m not ready for another relationship.”

“You must have loved her very much.” He didn’t try to hide the wrenching pain her words had raised. “I still do. I always will.” She nodded. “She wouldn’t have liked me, would she?” “No.”

She would never be able to measure up to Oceane.

“The problem is, I feel like I’m cheating on Oceane every time I fucking look at you.”

“I swore to Oceane that she would be the only woman I would love and that I’d never touch another woman.”

“It was a promise I made when she married me, and when she was dying.”

It’s a bunch of horse hockey that she didn’t try to convince you that she didn’t want you to remain alone. That’s some next level bitchy and makes me not like her.”

“You are the most irritating female I have ever met. How many times have I told you I want our relationship to stay platonic, and it just blows right over your head? Not only are you irritating, but you’re pushy. You texted me at least thirty times if I was coming. Let’s not even go into you texting Grace for my favorite recipes and food, and Dax for my favorite movies to watch.”

The overwhelming pleasure was one he hadn’t experienced in so long that it brought a pang of guilt. Stiffening, he released her and took a step back.

“I hope you take vitamins. You’re going to need them.”

“Did you fucking touch her?” Keeping her focus on Dalton, she ignored the shouts and loud voices coming from the front of the club. “No,” he hoarsely admitted. She believed him. “But you were going to, weren’t you?” “Yes.”

She believed that too. “Fuck you.” She let all the hurt she was feeling show in her face. “I was never going to be good enough for you, was I?”

“Have you ever loved anyone so much you considered them your soul mate?”

“Oceane was mine. I fell for her the moment I saw her, and she said the same. I was never unfaithful to her for all the years we were married, nor after. It made me sick to my stomach to even think of touching another woman. If I couldn’t have Oceane, I didn’t want one who wasn’t her.

“Your happiness matters just as much to me.” She looked at her sister with love-filled eyes that would have to be hidden the moment someone grew close. It was a choice T.A. had made when she was too young to understand the recriminations to the pain it would put them through. The only other choice was an expense in hell that their parents had planned for Ginny.

I like Jamie Begley's books and have read them all. And I was looking forward to TA's story. But I never expected JB to pair her with Dalton. This one had serious vibes of h being the consolation prize.
Dalton, a 55 year old movie star whose supermodel wife died three years ago falls in love with TA and plans to marry her. I just felt TA deserved someone younger and not a man who has had a long enduring love and marriage with his wife, for whom he changed his wild ways.
Its like h is his version of walking on the wild side. I also felt that the story was largely incomplete. There were plot holes and it seemed that things finished abruptly.

For eg; H is resisting h but suddently gives in and declares his love.
h fights and breaks up with H but the next scene; she is suddenly attending a red carpet premiere with his son so she can meet H and apologise.
H's daughter and husband are having issues and H feels its because of him as after his wife died, his daughter neglected her husband and concentrated on the grieving H; his solution is to have h for a smokescreen so his daughter can relax and concentrate on him. At one point H is seeking a solution to help his daughter but then that plot just goes away; in such a way that there was no mention of whether they had worked things out or no.
One time H is thinking about h's need / desire for children; he is bumbling along to Shade but suddently that line dries up as well.
h is an avid volunteer worker but suddenly there is no more mention of her volunteering
We don't even get to know which biker club adopted the H either
It felt like a filler book; one which was also paving the way for other books / stories. If that was the case, author should have indicated it somehow
The blurb says TA just wanted Mr. Available; which is not true; she was after the H right from the beginning; in a pathetic and pushy way. She pushed and pushed and when he resisted she got upset
The snowstorm where H was a noshow - again the same abrupt feeling
This was disappointing to read ...

I'm sad this one didn't work for me. I didn't feel like there was a big conflict that needed a big resolution.

I'm not sure why I'm not connecting with this author's writing anymore. I missed her earlier work terribly. My favorite parts are always when the old characters appear as cameos.

I had a hard time relating to the main couple. I didn't feel the love between T.A. and Dalton. Most of the book passes with T.A. following Dalton. Throwing herself at him. While T.A. is all over him, Dalton spends his time mourning the loss of his wife. Even though she died a few years ago, he misses "his soulmate", which he's not afraid to tell T.A. Just exactly what a woman wants to hear. T.A. deserved so much better than a guy still in love with his dead wife. Don't get me wrong, I liked Dalton, I just don't think it was the one for her. I felt that she settled for Dalton instead of having a man who was head over heels in love with her.

The other thing that bothers me about T.A.'s book is the lack of resolution about Grace and Ice's issues. I loved them as a couple and knowing they were having issues which were not explained well didn't make sense.

There is a good spoiler that made me excited about the next Last Rider's book. I do hope this one takes me back to loving this world again.

Will I read the next book? Absolutely, I just can't let this series go.

Cliffhanger: No

i've been curious about T.A. since foreverrrr but i put this one off for a while because the reviews were scary. i didn't mind it that much because i knew T.A.'s story had to be told before Ginny's and i appreciate Jamie's attempt at trying to do T.A. justice. it wasn't my fave but it wasn't that bad either!

T.A. brings us back to the Biker Bitches in Jamie Begley's world with the last Bitch to get her man. T.A and Dalton were a good mix, I thought. She wasn't as loud as her friends but she still knew what she wanted and wasn't afraid to go after it. And that's exactly the push that Dalton needed to get his head back to the land of the living.

I did want to see more of them together though and at times it felt like some secondary took the focus away from Dalton and T.A. I can't say I particularly liked that Dalton's daughter, Grace, from Riot, was featured like she was since her marital problems were brought up and I don't want to see that type of thing from a couple that already had their HEA.

But overall, I did like the story and the characters. It was intriguing with those hints of sexiness whenever Dalton was around. And of course Ms. Begley left us with some questions so I'm excited to see what will happen next in this world.

Honesty, I'm not a fan of T.A. She had really good moments, that I enjoyed. But then there were more of those moments that... I just wanted to shake her. She was frustratingly pathetic. Maybe I'm harsh but she had no self respect and sometimes it felt like she built these sand castles, expecting them to last forever and when they are washed away she acts like this was unexpected outcome.
Also those different moments, gave me a feeling like I was reading about two different people. Or T.A. was just bipolar because those two sides of her just didn't blend for me.

*****SLIGHT SPOILERS SPRINKLED THROUGHOUT*****

Hmm... this was a bit of a mixed bag for me. I enjoyed reading it but was more interested in the side storylines rather than the main characters.

Dalton & T.A. made for a fun match but never did they come across as an in love, forever kind of happily ever after. That whole second soulmate thing... Yeah, no. I just didn't buy it as more than f*cking for either of them & honestly, that's okay. F*ck away but don't try to make more out of it than it really is because it's not believable. *shrugs*

My most favorite things about this book...
#1 That WTF plot twist was brilliant! Yep, the connection between T.A. & Ginny came out of left field but it laid some fabulous groundwork for Ginny's story & I am so damn happy about that!!

#2 About that groundwork... OMG, OMG, OMG! I think my wish is coming true about Gavin & Ginny being matched together!! Their story is going to be AMAZING. Angst, heartache, revenge, love, secrets, darkness...GAH! Can't wait to read it. Ginny represents the quintessential Jamie Begley heroine & I have no doubt that Gavin will be a contender for top Last Rider in many people's hearts.

Two things absolutely bugged the sh*t out of me in this book...
#1 The way Oceane was portrayed/most any talk about her... She might not have been my favorite character when she was alive (a little too hoity-toity at times) but I LOATHED how she was painted in a bad light in this one; especially since she wasn't around to defend herself.

Also, I was very disappointed with all of the "wild side" talk & the comparisons made between Oceane & T.A. They're two different people; one in Dalton's past & one in Dalton's future. They are both awesome in their own right, so there is NO need to compare them. Just. Move. On. It made me sick when that sh*t was thought or said out loud because it just diminished the love Oceane & Dalton had shared. (Please keep in mind, this how I felt when I read it.)

And FYI, there is NO need to try & one-up a dead woman, Biker Bitches. *sigh*

#2 The marital troubles between Ice & Grace... This sucked a pair of hairy donkey balls. Big time. Here I was hoping that the BEST Predators couple would be making a pregnancy announcement in this book, but noooooo.... We get them at odds with each other instead. You make Penni pregnant AGAIN but not Grace?! So. Not. Cool. The way they were left hanging felt like a slap in the face to #IceIceBaby fans.

Regardless of these two biggies, the book is a must-read for fans of this huge saga. Skip one book & you might miss some super-important details about certain characters! *cough*Ginny*cough*

So excited for the Valentine novella the author announced on her Facebook page but let's be real, the one I (& everyone) can't wait for is... GAVIN'S BOOK! His future is looking so bright right now, if things go down the way I hope they will!!

Side Note: The baby boom was cute but again... I'm salty because Grace didn't get to lead the damn thing!

No connection again

Wasn't expecting much from this book and that's what I got. No connection between the Dalton and TA. Very rushed. A year passed between chapters so was confusing. Did like the banter between the BB'S and the hints of Gavin. Last few book have been very disappointing.

I don't understand the 4 star ratings, Jamie Begley's writing has really gone down in quality.n The story was disjointed and and had massive holes, nothing was explained or elaborated. I keep coming back to complete the Last Riders journey but at this point I am just holding on by a thread.

This was really one of my least liked books by this author. I had to stretch it to give it 3 stars.
T.A. always acts like the dumb one of the biker bitches but in this story she could be nominated for sainthood. She does so many things to help the downtrodden and the needy. She sacrifices for everyone. She never puts her feelings first. She literally chases Dalton. Dalton still loves his dead wife, I mean really can't let her go. Dalton is a movie star and is described in detail as such but when the story opens he's escaped back to the MC he started out in years ago because he wants to be alone to "grieve" for his wife who's been dead 3 years. I also didn't like the appearance of T.A.'s sister (a character from previous books) and finding out she was T.A.'s sister but her identity as a sister must be kept secret because of their parent's "evil plans."

(3-3.5) I am having trouble with rating this book. Ms. Begley is always a go to author when releasing a new book or even re-reading previous books for me. The stories always have a underlying mystery that isn't disclosed until the end and that creates great writing and a story you don't want to put down. I always enjoy the way that all the characters throughout the series are always just as important in the new book as the previous books. That being said T.A. and Dalton were not my favorites. I like them, but didn't love them and together I just never saw it. I felt like the true connection between them was too late in the story and then it ended. I don't think Dalton was what T.A. needed and T.A. just fell for him because of her kind soul not because it was her soul mate. Its like she settled, which bummed me out.

I couldn’t really get into this one as much which is a shame.

I felt like T.A was too needy and weak- I tend not to like that in females. There’s a twist in the end over who her sister was and it seemed that it came out of nowhere. I suppose Jamie couldn’t give too much away and it will be revealed in the next story, but I can’t quite put my finger on what the story was with this one.

I felt like this book was more of a filler to the series than it's own book. I'm a huge JB fan & was left disappointed by this book.

I didn't hate it I just didn't find anything to love about Dalton, he was a grieving dude who had TA talk some shit to him to try to make him snap out of the grief process of losing Oceane and all of a sudden he realised there's more to life than living in the past with his dead wife... ummmm I don't know about that. So the connection between TA & Dalton didn't seem real to me it just seemed like a bit of a charity fuck which is fine & whatever but the "true love", second chance soul mate aspect didn't seem real to me at all.

The side characters were more appealing to me so it felt more like a set-up book than it's own book which is where I was felt it was about quantity more than quality which is upsetting. TA deserved better cause she's a pretty awesome chick.

The bomb that was dropped at the end with Ginny excites me for the next book but I hope it's not a rushed let down.

Another thing that pissed me off was that there were so many loose ends not tied up, all the drama around Grace & Ice's relationship but there was nothing to say they got their shit together again.

Sigh....

I REALLY wanted to LOVE this book, but I didn't. I did like it enough for 3 stars.
I thought T.A with Dalton was a really bad fit. It seemed to jump about leaving some questions unanswered. It was more of a prequel for Ginny's story.
Are we sure this was written by Jamie??

You know when you read a book from a serie you enjoyed a few months/years ago, and wonder : what the hell was I thinking ?
Well this is exactly the effect this book had on me : cannot say it is bad, but I have no idea why I read the rest of the books...
Both characters are annoying, the supporting cast got on my nerves and their names are the worse 😂.

What I noticed with this series is that I appreciate the books more after the first reading. I'll probably change my rating after my second reading.

Initial impression:
This is the "tamest" book from this series. Tame in the sense that it doesn't have the usual highly sexually active mc. The angst here stems from the fact that Mr Hollywood loved and lost his wife so is there a room in his heart to love again? Especially when it's with one of the biker bitches?

At this point, I'm unsatisfied at how the romance developed. Quite frankly, I wanted to see a bit more chemistry and fireworks just because I'm aware of how much he loved his wife. But I was hoping that his love for T.A. is "better" than the one he had with his first love. I know, that's terrible but *shrugs*

I'm also a little disappointed with the epilogue because it lacked the usual HEA moments that we normally get. But I do understand that the writer is leaving some room to introduce us to the next book, which I'm guessing involves 'G' and 'G'.

Who knows maybe after the second reading, I can appreciate it more. That definitely happened with all the other books.

------------
Expected publication is on the 4th but it’s already out today (the 1st), I’m thrilled!!!

Liked this one but didn't love it. Always like seeing all the other characters in addition to the main couple, and this book didn't disappoint on that front since there were people from all the series:
the Last Riders, the Destructors, the Blue Horsemen, the Predators, and all the people hanging around them, including Lily's friends from Queen City. Gavin is here as well.

Dalton is Grace's dad and is a widower and is 20+ years older than TA, but they make a good couple since they're both damaged in their own ways. TA ends up having a closer connection to the Last Riders than we ever knew before, so that's an interesting aspect of this one. It seemed short to me and also that I missed some stuff that had gone on before that was relevant (but since I've read all the series a few times, I'm surprised I missed it).

Classic Jamie move stirring the pot with this book.

Any one who follows this author will realise quickly exactly what this book is. Now this is just my opinion so don't shit your pants if you don't agree but this is how I see it. I have religiously followed this author since The Last Riders series first came out and one thing I have noticed especially is that with every highly anticipated book of hers that's due to come out (Gavins now for example) .. she always releases what I like to call a filler. Now I'm not shitting on this book when I say that because it has its own place here right? However this is a set up for Gavin and I'm guessing Ginny's story whilst also giving us T.A's story and tying all the series's together neatly by adding Dalton to the mix killing three birds with one stone and all that bollocks. Are you still with me?. So for all those hella angry readers whom are super disappointed in this book I'm going to say that this story isn't finished yet hence the abrupt ending without her traditional trademark at least 3 crazy epilogues. The thing this author can do well is play her readers. See it doesn't matter how pissed you are this book you'll still want Gavins book because #1 GAVIN #2 You'll want to know about T.A's past which you'll no because #3 Ginny is the key to it all. And lastly this author is well known for her love to hate hero's and sure shocking moments so it's no surprise that this all came out the way it did.

^ I had to get that off my chest even if it doesn't make sense to anyone else.

I actually really like T.A's book. Going into these stories I already that I'm going to love to hate a lot of it and 'in turmoil' is the best description for me and these books.

T.A surprised me with her smart witty ways. She's the dark horse of the group who is normally in the background even more so that Fat Louise. But she was hella present here. She's has an almost Lily like sweetness to her but with more fire and A lot less fear. But there's a darkness there that we don't get to understand yet. Boy has it got my gears turning though. I feel like if anyone deserves a HEA it's T.A.

Dalton was a surprise but not a bad one. Does he frustrate me through this story? hell fuck yes. But no more so that the rest of these arrogant broods this author is so fond of creating. He's sweet with a darkness that lurks just under the surface. Mature, his words show his age at times but not in a bad way. One could never say he wasn't honest because if nothing else he was honest to a fault.

Now the whole Dalton situation didn't grate me like most for a few reasons. This man was married to his soul mate for a long ass time so does it seem like a far stretch of imagination that he would fight the attraction to a women almost his kids age when his wife past only three years ago?. Absolutely not. That just shows me that man felt with everything in him for a women he imagined spending his life with, the mother to his kids. He was also still grieving, conflicted in his loyalties to his wife and his feeling for someone who was at the time threatening that memory he fought so hard to keep. So I don't begrudge that and I don't think that T.A was a second choice because people can love again and it can be different and no less meaningful that the first. Did I get frustrated? Absolutely. But again I can't begrudge the loyalty when thats what I want in a hero. I also can appreciate that when he got his head screwed firmly on he made sure to tell her exactly who she was to him and that there was no need to compete when she was the only one he wanted. I'll also point out that he didn't once lead her to believe any differently in that point and was honest the whole way through. Lastly that girl handled that situation with fucking grace let me tell and she did not shit on his memories on because irrational over it. Now that earned her my respect.

So final thoughts for my long winded review of pure blubber.

I feel like this story was smartly written in a way that it filled a timeline whilst showing us several characters and layed a path of possibilities for future stories. The characters always have great depth and the story always brings a slew of feelings taking us on a emotional rollercoaster. T.A shined in this story for me and I loved getting a peak at her. I definitely think we haven't heard everything from her just yet and I'm excited to see what comes next. The chemistry was palpable and that connection between them was just burning hot. We always get multiple characters with diverse personalities bringing a little of everything into the story. All kinds of crazy dysfunctional and downright hilarious shenanigans. A boatload of banter, bickering and misunderstood sweet friendships and there you have yourself this crazy story.

I'm not disappointed I'm just anticipating what's to come because I'm sure Gavins story will hurt.

I'm not a fan of this one and was disappointed on T.A.'s behalf.

TA / Trudy Anne sets her sites on famous Hollywood actor, Dalton Andrews (dad to Grace from Predators MC Book 1). Dalton has just lost his beloved wife, Oceane, and he's grieving his one true love. He doesn't want to move on to anyone else, but TA isn't giving up.

The story is really weird and I feel like this TA isn't who we've read about for the past 50 books (feels like 50). This TA is flat broke because she gives all her money to poor people and anyone else who asks her. She lets people abuse her kindness and she also only screws loser men who mooch off her. It doesn't even make sense that she's convinced herself that she'll capture Dalton. Sure, she's met his daughter and knows people who know him - but she's never met him before. I'm all for far fetched, but this one seems a little coo-coo even for me.

I hate this kind of fic because all we hear about is how much he loved his wife and how he'll never love anyone else. I feel sorry for TA. She'll always be his second. He tells her several times that he doesn't want anything to do with her and she just won't let him go.

Eventually, at the 89% mark, they have sex for the first time and he ends up finally admitting that he loves her. Not sure how or when that happened, but ok.

I do like the age gap but it's kind of a backburner issue. He's in his fifties and she's in her late twenties (I think).

I don't think you're missing out on anything if you skip this one. This is kind of the end of the series anyway so you can take it or leave it IMO.

Another great one

I have to tell you I didn't think about T.A much , I mean when her and sex piston was talking about Stud in another book I thought it was funny but T.A come off to me as sweet but not stable, this book changed my mind about her for the better, she was sweet and surprising as well. Now Dalton was a hurting man lost with out his wife, his kids was worried about him being home and going back to his past. He had a very hard time seeing any woman in front of him, That was the hard part for me because I think he hurt T.A. before he saw what he had. Loved seeing all others characters from JAMIE books ,I don't want to say much about this book but you will have surprises and seeing Gavin I am interested in him now also another character from her other book that I wanting to see her story. This book was a great book about second chance for the love when you didn't think there was one! Thank you jamie, but you kill me with the mysteries. Can't wait for next book!💗
