Jade will have to choose between love . . . and fire. Jade McClaren, both cat burglar and supernatural cop, has been working with the Fae Lords for months, all the while getting closer to her Fae partner Davril Stormguard, but she's hit a rocky patch with him. Before she can do anything about it, disaster strikes.
Nevos, Davril's brother and the enemy of the Fae, strikes a devastating blow against the Fae Lords, forcing the Queen into a desperate move she wasn't ready for. Now Jade and Davril will have to take action or the whole world will be engulfed in war and shadow.
Along the way, Jade will finally find what she's been looking for her whole life: her fire. But getting it back could mean losing everything. And meanwhile the world teeters on the brink of destruction.
No pressure, Jade!

If a potential partner requires you to change an integral aspect of yourself, then they don't deserve you. Behaving better for someone else, for their respect and just being a kinder person I can understand and endorse. But destroying something that is you? Nope don't agree and that's toxic. Major flaw in this book, although there was some concession. Another, personal, issue with the book is viewing Anubis as an evil Deity. Just because a deity is more powerful in the dark or helps the dead does not mean that is an evil Deity!
You've been waiting the whole book, books thrusting and throbbing through out to get to that final sex scene. Which I didn't read, but I'm sure was brilliant. Just not my thing. Call me a prude but I just don't care about other people having sex. Close the door. So I do appreciate that the books are not about just that. But a real honest to goodness story which has been absolutely excellent. All sorts of twists and turns and unexpected totally original work. You've bone a fabulous job. Me I'm in my 50's have a masters degree 2 b.s. and love a good story. Our whole history prehistory has been based on the ability to tell a good story and tell it well. It's is unvalued at the moment. But not by all. There are many readers more diverse than you Or your publishers my think. They like to pigeon hole Thanks
Okay, I’ve been waiting for this for so long and when it finally happens: yeah, crickets chirping and a big sigh of dissapointment. Come on! This scene was to have been Epic. It was just put so matter of factly and no fanfare. Readers you know what I’m talking about. Was I the only one disappointed ? The story line was okay but the why and how seemed unimportant. Jade had bigger things to worry about such as making a choice to stay a mortal human with no powers or regain her dragon fire and form. Hmm all for a guy who may or may not want to even kiss you because of who and what you are. Davril was made out to appear more affectionate towards Jade this time around but it seemed so out of character for him. Expected more but will wait to see if the next book goes back to the earlier formula that worked to keep me entertained. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Jade and Davril are in the thick of things again as the Fae struggle to find a way to defeat Vorkoth. When Queen Calista reveals that there is a Golden Sword that will kill the evil dragon. Jade is forced to enlist her contacts in the Guild of Thieves to help her retrieve the sword from her greatest foe, Walsh, the one who stole her fire.
As Jade and Davril travel to the Sahara to make a final attempt to procure the sword, Jade is hiding a secret that could change the course of their relationship. Everything will have to go just right, but when does that ever happen?
I was given an advanced copy of this book by the author. My review is voluntary.
This series just keeps getting better and better. I love Jade and her sister Ruby. I really felt for Jade in this book. For most of her life all Jade wanted was to get back her dragon powers so she could feel whole again. Now she’s in love with someone who claims they can’t be with her if she does. Ugh. For me the answer is clear but for Jade not so much. Matters of the heart aren’t always easy and it made my heart hurt to watch her internal struggle. I really enjoyed reading about Jades adventures in this book and can’t wait to find out what happens next.
I continually waited for the next thing Lady Made were going to jump into to see her surprise both herself and her partner as she held her own and became more bold in her actions. I do wish there would have been one more notes romance between Jade and Davril when it was possible again. It still kept me on my toes for the next adventure. Maybe more romance and adventure in the land of the Fae?
It has been such a journey already and there is still so much to come and im so happy that what has happened has finally happened but then Jade having to do what she does to win puts a spanner in the works and then what happens on the final page basically blows it all to smithereens! (May not make sense but hey.. at least theres no spoilers!)
I don’t know which one I don’t like more- Jade or Davril. I wanted to strangle both of them many times in this book. I might be over their love struggle- let’s just save the world and not have a romance.
What the ever loving f... Whelp, now Jade knows the mortal enemy of the Fae. Gasp, Jade is maybe in that category. Seriously, Darvil is being a dick. Jade, just drop the men and use them for sex. In that case, go back to Nevos who is the hawter lover. Jade needs to decide if she will take the chance to have her powers back so that she can be a dragon shifter again, or... stay mortal because her boyfriend isn't happy about her intrinsic identity. WTF. When I was younger and dumber, I probably would have been ... "oh, give it up for love". Now jaded and older, my answer is "Fuck him". If he doesn't like you for who you were born as, tell him to take a hike. Judging her because of what she is instead of what she stands for and who she has become, not cool.
This is probably my least favourite book in the series even if it did bring up some interesting situations. I just felt Davril was an ass and should be shot.
