If you are a fan of fast paced stories that are laugh out loud hilarious, have fun and quirky characters you never saw coming and a book that are unable to put down because you have to know how the "mission" will go, then The Kind of a Girl by G.C. Allen should be your next read!

This is the first book I have read by this author, but it will not be my last! I cannot wait to read the 2nd book in the series, The Girl in the Diamond Studded Heels.

Ok, what next

Revealing some in the end does not explain -- you have to read the rest of the series! Book certainly doesn't tell you that! It is totally different from most books I've read! It is hard to explain but then read it and come to your own conclusion!

Lorraine Innis is the kind of a girl I'm so happy to have just had a crazy and wild adventure with! Oh, my gosh! Was it ever an adventure!
Lorraine Innis has a plan. She has a plan for revenge or justice...but it consists of her mantra, "Remember to forget". Or is it "Forget to remember?" Whichever it is, she has quite the time of following through with her "plan". This plan involves her "cousin", Valerie. It's a detailed and intricate plan that has to come together perfectly but, just like Murphy's Law, things don't quite go the way they're supposed to.
I love this author's quirky, hilarious, and unique style of storytelling. I was laughing at so many of the innuendoes and situations that Lorraine, and the other characters, found themselves in. The characters in this book are out of a mold of their own. I have never come across anything like them. The entire cast of characters bring the whole crazy story together. They are a range of characters from high ranking politicians down to the little cat in a tree. What all these have to do with each other is what makes this book an insanely humorous, entertaining, and unputdownable read. I had to find out how Lorraine was going to accomplish her "mission".
There were so many passages that had me rolling on the floor laughing. The word plays were fantastic. I thoroughly enjoyed this book from the front cover to the back.
If you want a read that takes you on a crazy, wild ride, one that makes you laugh, one that is amusing and entertaining, then this is a must! I am so happy that I picked this book up and began my adventures with Lorraine Innis, The Kind of a Girl I want to have in my future book adventures. Ms. Allen leaves the door open at the end of this book for just that opportunity!
This is the first book I've read by this author but far from the last, for sure!
I want to thank G. C. Allen for a read that took me into the life of Lorraine! It was GREAT!!! A five star laughing escapade of FUN!

It's so weird it's cute. Normally, my daughter and I have quite varied tastes in books, so when she recommends one, I tend to be afraid (sometimes very afraid). She recommended this series to me, and I thought, what have I got to lose, right?
For me, it started a bit slowly and I became a bit confused. What can I say? I'm getting old. I stuck with it, though, and I am glad I did. The book is amusing and twisty.
Most of the characters were quirky and eccentric, especially Eugenia and Purvis, and I love the cat-incident. This book is bizarre and insanely entertaining! I have already started on the next book, "The Girl in the Diamond Studded Heels".

If a book is really bad, I will walk away. Even freebies sometimes aren’t worth the time. Rarely do I give 1 star. This book was a disappointment. The many characters are both confused and confusing. The strands of the plot are fuzzy, and resolution nonexistent. I don’t like being left hanging when it feels like the author either wants to force purchase of a sequel or just ran out of ideas.

Linda’s Book Obsession Reviews “The Kind of a Girl The Lorraine Innis Series Book # 1) by G.C. Allen, 2018

WOW!! G.C. Allen, the author of “The Kind of Girl” has written an original and unique comedy and satire, that is a delightful, and enjoyable read. The author has a wicked sense of humor, and the adventures that are depicted in this story are a refreshing escape. The genres for this novel are fiction, comedy and humor, and satire. The author describes her characters as complex, complicated, quirky, dysfunctional and adventurous.

The protagonist of the story, Lorraine Innis, is a mixture of many qualities and adventures. She is just that ‘kind of a girl” to fall or have a cat fall on her head, or meet unusual and surprising characters. Lorraine Innis truly means well. She seems to be seeking justice and revenge but has problems remembering and forgetting.

I would recommend this witty story for those readers who enjoy unpredictable characters and plots. This is the first in the series, and I can’t wait to read the next book. Thank you G.C. Allen for the chuckles and escapism.

The Kind of a Girl the first book in the Lorraine Innis Series written by G.C. Allen. This is the first book I have read by this author and it definitely will not be the last. Ms. Allen wrote a wonderful story which drew me right in, had me laughing throughout. I could not put this book down, I had to know what was going to happen. Happen it did if something could go wrong it did. The story was very well written the quirky characters were well defined and likable. This book kept me entertained and engaged until the very last page. If you like humorous, fast paced, make you feel good books then The Kind of a Girl is the book for you. I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book in this series The Girl in the Diamond Studded Heels.

A Crazy, laugh out loud book

The Kind of Girl (The Lorraine In is Series Book 1) by author GC Allen had me laughing from the start regarding the issues Lorraine faced. The events Lorraine finds herself involved in are so outrageous that it makes for a great read. Lorraine goes through a day in her life but her memories are mixed up so much she begins to believe them as fact. She has a quirky personality that makes her more relatable to the readers. I personally loved the elements of. humor throughout this book. Author G C Allen has a wonderful way of creating likeable characters to make for an enjoyable read. Be sure to check out her series along with book 1 if you like lighthearted reads. Check out GC Allen's series today on Amazon.

This book was a book that I had a hard time putting down. I enjoy the it enormously because of the twist and turns that was not expected. The characters where entertainment and some where kinda two faced but it kept me reading the every end. This was a book of you love a female leader then you will love this book. It was a cliff hanger ending which I loved because it leaves me wanting the next book to read quicker. I think this is a great book club to talk about. The writing was fabulous. I recommend it for anyone who loves females leaders.

I enjoyed this light-hearted, oftentimes humorous romp in literature. The main character, Lorraine Innis, is likable and oftentimes relatable. The other characters range from devious to amusing and leave readers wanting more. The characters are well developed and I enjoyed the author's style of writing. My only complaint is that it is a cliff-hanger, which means I now have to buy "The Girl in the Diamond Studded Heels", sneaky, very sneaky! LOL

Interesting little beginning of the series. Lots of twists and turns. Several different plot lines going but it doesn’t get confusing and they all are intertwined nicely.

A good read

This was the first book I have read by G.C.Allen and am picking up the next one as soon I am finished with this review. I tried to read this book when I had just finished a book based on true events! At that time, I found it confusing and couldn’t get into it so I put it down and moved on. I kept wondering why everyone was liking it and I was not. After making a promise to finish reading it, I picked it up again after a few months and I am so glad I did! This book is hilarious, entertaining and while reading it, a person can relate to how things don’t always go as we plan them to. The story line started with Lorraine looking for revenge, but the ending was not what I expected. But then again, nothing in the book is predictable! Grace has a quirky sense of humor herself and beings this into her book. From the names such as Purvis and Eugenia to her mishap with a cat! Great job Grace.... now on to “The Girl in the Diamond Studded Heels”

The Kind of a Girl Book Review

The Kind of a Girl is a very unexpected book. There are many twists and turns to keep you on your toes. The author does a fantastic job of creating unique and interesting characters that move the plot along. They are a very peculiar and lively bunch. These are probably the most unusual characters that have been assembled in one novel.

The plot starts to come together about midway through the novel after the seemingly unrelated zany characters somehow find a connection to one another.

Then a series of quirky events ensue.

I literally laughed out loud for a few minutes at one particular scene in the story. For that part alone, it might be worth it to read the book.

If you are a patient reader and can appreciate the amazing character development along with the incredulous events that unfold, this book is for you.

This is a laugh out loud novel with quirky characters reminiscent of the Stephanie Plum series. Lorraine Innes out on her own secret revenge, just trying to make it through the day. A cat, a car accident, a volt of electricity, saving the Russian President, all get in the way of her own mission. The situations flow seamlessly from one to the other in a way that makes sense. I thoroughly enjoyed this novel as a funny, light read. I can't wait to dig into book 2of this series. I strongly recommend this novel and this author.

Zany and laugh-out-loud funny, this book was an amazing read! With a cast of eccentric characters and bizarre plot twists, it was an absolute delight. I had no idea what to expect, but loved getting lost in this quirky, unpredictable world. Allen has a very unique voice and has crafted a story that is unlike anything I have ever read. Now I can't wait to pick up the next book in the series and see what happens.

Definitely pick this up if you are looking for a light, fun read that will keep you on your toes (when you're not rolling in the floor laughing!)
