Destria is a Spirit Keeper, and a damn good one (most of the time). It's a full time job with all those spirits requiring constant care and attention. But one day a momentary distraction allows the Spirit of Christmas to slip from her care and run amok in the human world, wasting all its joy and cheer at the wrong time of the year.

It's Destria's responsibility to find the spirit and bring it home before it wastes away completely. But there's a problem--her entire life has been spent in the Spirit Kingdom and she knows absolutely nothing about the human world.

In steps Dasher, the cocky reindeer shifter whose very livelihood depends on bringing the Christmas Spirit home; he blames Destria for this catastrophe and could think of nothing worse than serving as her guide (and ride) as she attempts to track down the spirt, but he has no choice: without Christmas he and his family will have no purpose.

Chasing Christmas is a fun, romantic, slightly cheesy (and what Christmas story isn't?) urban fantasy adventure.

Omg !!! That was such a cute and cool story. I don’t think I would’ve thought about it that way. I absolutely loved that. Such a cute tale about Christmas. I couldn’t get enough. I wonder what would be happening now afterwards. So cool. Awesome story. 💙

Chasing Christmas is a fun, grown-up fairytale just right for Christmas. Destria and her sister, Kendra, are keepers of growing spirits in the spirit realm. Neither sister has been to Earth, although they nurture spirits who will at some point be going to Earth, like the nature spirits. Kendra is a magical klutz, but the sisters keep that fact quiet because they fear being separated. After one particularly bad mistake on Kendra's part, the spirit of Christmas accidentally leaves the nurturing ground of the spirit realm and goes to New York.

Suddenly, it is Christmas in July. Dasher, a reindeer shifter, notices this at once. He and his reindeer buddies, when they're not flying Santa around, help keep track Santa's naughty list the other 364 days of the year. Rather than wake Santa from his hibernation, Dasher determined to figure out what's going on and solve it.

Dasher goes to the spirit realm to speak with the spirit council, but before he gets there, he sees the sisters in the spirit garden. Curious, he goes in and soon decides to escort Destria to Earth to find the spirit of Christmas before it burns out. They end up going on a cross-continental journey in pursuit of the spirit of Christmas. Will they catch the elusive spirit before the spirit of Christmas is lost forever? Will they find a little romance along the way as well?

The book had some of the common issues with grammar, punctuation, and usage. This did not detract from the story.

I found this to be a delightfully whimsical Christmas fairytale for grownups.

I really enjoyed reading Chasing Christmas by Ashlee Nicole Bye. It is a short, funny, and sweet fantasy novella that explains how spirits are raised away from the human world by spirit keepers. This story focuses two sisters, Desteria and Kendra who are charged by the elders with tending the spirit gardens. An accident occurs and the Christmas spirit escapes into the human world. What follows is a poignant and out of the ordinary tale telling how a spirit keeper and a reindeer shifter meet up and work together to save the spirit of Christmas. I recommend this novella for anyone who enjoys reading a short fantasy story mixed with elements of the real world.

I absolutely loved this Christmas fantasy novella it is such a fantastic story and I enjoyed it immensely. Destria is a keeper of spirits just like her sister Kendra they look after spirits in the spirit realm before they go to earth. When a mistake occurs and the Christmas spirit gets away and makes it’s way down to earth at the wrong time of year so Destria teams up with a reindeer shifter Dasher and they go to earth to catch the spirit of Christmas before it burns out and maybe a little bit of romance along the way. A wonderful funny novella and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

Delightful Christmas 🎄 Adventure!
A sweet, fun, whimsical fantasy. The Spirit of Christmas escaped and is creating Christmas in July. Destria, a Spirit Keeper, enlists the aid of reindeer-shifter Dasher to get him back in this fast paced adventure. Enjoy!
