Amaya Reynolds is just a plain old human…and the key to reaching the secret land of Tara. Or so her five men insist. But Amaya can’t even keep a roof over her head in Distant Edge, home to supernaturals and humans alike. Nor is she doing well in her job at a vampire blood bank, where nothing is required but her willingness to bend her neck. So how can she be the savior of a dying world when she can’t even save her parents from eviction?

It’s true she can cross into Tara at times—accidentally, in her sleep, and never of her own volition. And she’d do anything for the fairy king and loyal warlocks who’ve taken her in, who cherish her and love her when she’s done nothing to earn her keep. So when an opportunity arises to turn a secret passion into a thriving career, she jumps at the chance to prove her worth. But when one of her men goes missing, all the magical powers in two worlds won’t be enough to avert a heartbreaking choice: save her future, or save her men.

DNF!

DNF! The cover pissed me off from the start because this book is definitely about a black woman. Why is there a white fairy on the cover? The author made Amaya so unlikable. And she makes so many assumptions. She’s beyond insecure and creates way more problems for herself than necessary. This book just pissed me off. Details matter and this book made no sense.

Is it not obvious that Bob and Cheryl are not human? At this point, why does Amaya still work at Ichor? Like one person has taken her blood and she made him stop. Like how is she still getting paid? Where’s Vasily’s father? How did Vasily become king? “I love Bodhi. I want to please him. I want to be of service and feel needed.” Where is this coming from? The last book was literally 5 days tops. A little longer because she was in Tara but none of the guys were there. What is happening? Then she proceeds to ask how Bohdi’s brothers can love her because they don’t even know her. Am I missing something?!?! She doesn’t know any of them! Then she’s about to fight her best friend? Immediate no. Why couldn’t they all go to Tara?

Misspellings.

Amaya Reynolds had been left in charge of her parents’ house while they were in Taiwan. They were due back in a few weeks and would find that the disgusting landlord has evicted them after raising the rent an enormous amount that Amaya could not pay. As Amaya is discussing her woes with her friend, Jules, the disgusting landlord Bob walks in to the coffee shop! A disturbance at the cash register draws everyone’s attention as Bob holds his blue-lighted hand in front of the cashier and snarls that she must make him a tall mocha with three pumps of chocolate and skim milk. In a trance, she walks off to do that, ignoring all the other customers. If he was a warlock, what he did was illegal, using magical powers on the general public. But they were not sure if he was one. He had never shown this type of activity before. Unfortunately, his sister is Amaya’s boss, so she really can’t do anything against the creep, like report him for this illegal magic use.

Amaya and Jules return to Vasily’s home where Amaya has been staying. Vasily is the Fae King living on Earth. Amaya is angry with him because she found out he had invited the destructive fae Azotar into Tara, Vasily’s Fae realm and so many people have been hurt by him. Azotar then banished Vasily to Earth. Amaya also learned that to save his niece, Vasily had to enslave her to himself, which infuriated Amaya. He still could not free her when he made her his slave, so he brought her to Earth where she would be freed when she found a husband. To Amaya, having to switch to a husband’s control but not much of an improvement in her situation. But his father ruled with an iron fist and put many decrees in place so he almost ruled from beyond the grave! Amaya was beginning to see how difficult a job honorable and kind Vasily had inherited.

I really love the realm of Tara and the Fae. Amaya will face bigger challenges and will be forced to grow and make tough decisions. She is a strong character, and yet lets self-doubt erode her confidence. Will she overcome her doubts and move forward to be what fate has destined her to be? Will her bond with her men grow better as they get closer to each other? The story line is compelling if the reader has been with this series all along. There is much going on and danger everywhere. Grab your copy and see how Amaya will respond to the difficult choice she faces!

Amaya is fighting to keep her job and her parents home. While still learning about the powers growing in her and her link to 4 warlocks and 1 King of Tara. Planes walking between 2 worlds, fighting to learning about Tara and its mysteries, and how she can save Tara and bring back their magic to her handsome men.

This is the 2nd installment in the chronicles of Tara. Its start off fast paced and slows down in the middle to pick back up in time for you to get really interested.... and then that's the end of the second book and I need to hop into the 3rd and last so I can find out what will happen to Amaya and her harem of men, who dote on her.

Some parts had me frustrated in the decisions that Amaya was making. But if characters did not make stupid decisions the story would be over.

Overall I really like this series. Happy reading

This was one of those stories I almost couldn’t read fast enough. I was desperate to see what was going to happen next. This book is filled with action, adventure, magic, and intrigue. My only real complaint is that as much as I adored Amaya in the first book, this time around she frustrated me beyond all sense of reason. I can mostly wrap my mind around why she does many of the things she does; she’s so fixated on being “worthy” and independent. But, light of heaven! The number of too-stupid-to-live moments left me shaking my head. The ending, while not a cliff-hanger per se, has me anxiously counting down the days until I can get my hands on the next book.

While I can appreciate how everyone has moments of self doubt, whether it’s their looks, what they are capable of contributing to society or relationships, etc, I found it hard to enjoy Amaya’s journey through this book with how self conscious she is every single chapter, through every scenario. It would have been nice to see her confidence grow, at least partially, in some aspect of her life. I think their are readers who will enjoy the realness of Amaya discovering herself but personally, I enjoy a main character with a little more confidence. The world of Tara is still fascinating and I enjoy getting to explore it more and more.

This was very close to a DNF for me. The basic story is good but Amaya, the H, is so very irritating and whiny and juvenile. She constantly belittles herself, says how undeserving she is, because her birth destroyed her parents’ lives (even though they clearly love her and enjoy their lives), and how useless she is. I mean, on almost every page she makes some statement like that. She doesn’t pay any attention to the reality of the relationships she has with the men too, just saying how she’s not worthy. I got so mad. Why would the author write her like this when otherwise the story is pretty good?

This is the second book in the Chronicles of Tara series and we get to see just how Amaya handles more problems in her every day life. I really loved how we get to watch how Amaya deals with her self doubts and, I would say, low self esteem. It is a breath of fresh air to read a book where while she is a strong main character it shows that she still has problems like others do.

Book 2 of the Chronicles of Tara series is an enjoyable insight to how Amaya handles all that life can throw at her. Through her struggles, she experiences self-doubt that she has to fight her way through while knowing she is to be a savior. The men in her life continue to become more and more important to her as they love and cherish her. Amaya will be faced with a difficult decision that will impact many futures. What will she decide?

Amaya faces new challenges in this one. I really like the World of Tara so far but hopefully Amaya's self confidence grows a little bit during the next book. Because herself doubt during every situation was kind of hard to read after a bit. I love the characters plus FAE! I love the Fae! I want to read more of Amaya's story and other than the issue I had with her character everything else was fabulous. Very creative and detailed storyline and characters. Great second book!

This is an interesting second book in this series where we see Amaya go throughly number of new challenges including her self-doubt. We get to see the guys start to mean even more to her! There is some great character development in this book that is realistic...Especially Amaya’s Low self-esteem. It will be interesting to see what decisions she makes and how this affects her and the guys in the next book!

This is book 2 for Amaya. While it’s nice to see a character who has struggles and learns to fight and overcome them, I feel like her life is struggle after struggle. It would be nice to change it up a bit and maybe a little bit of her seeing the light. Her relationship with the guys is getting better, I just hope it all wraps up nicely for her in the next one.

This is book two of Amaya’s story and we she her journey to Tara and experience more issues that cant be explained. We watch as her relationship with the boys gets a better but her self doubt is a killer. I felt this book was a little flat needless to say the 4 stars but I’m hoping book 3 turns it all around.

A good read. I love this story, although disappointed that it was a bit on the short side and I found that Amaya was a little bit whiny and depressing for my liking. I'm hoping the next book will be a five star!

It's really great to see a word unfolding more as you read and to see more of the characters involved and discover their individuality and quirks. It's also lovely to see how the relationships between the characters are evolving. I enjoyed this book and I am looking forward to what happens next. Hopefully Amaya's confidence will grow with each book.

Loved the book. Not the first I've read by the hand of Chloe. I like that the story of Amaya continues in a way I've not suspected. It's a book about how Amaya adjusts to whatever is thrown her way. Her way is like I see myself. No self esteem and general a sweet caracter.

Amaya is getting slowly hold of her powers and her men. And the story getting more and more interesting. There are still things we need to resolve and understand. We discover as well more of Tara. And Amaya is evolving too, in even stronger woman. I love this book.

I loved the way this book is written. It has an epic nature to it. We’d get another view of Tara along with the entry of a few new characters. It is a good read!

Amaya’s adventures to Tara continues but there’s more at stake with unexplained incidents involving her landlord. Amaya is a powerful young woman with a great heart and she’s determined but lacks confidence in herself and her abilities. Her determination to help Vasily and the warlocks though is starting to give her the push she needs. She’s also naive in a cute way and despite all she’s experienced she remains innocent and somewhat pure of heart. Her connection to her men had grown stronger and their intimate moments are really steamy and sexy. She’s very certain of her feelings for these men but she approaches everything with a bit of uncertainty so she tends to hold back. Slowly she’s learning that somehow this was all meant to be. The men already claim her, she just need to accept the inevitable and figure out the dynamics of their relationship. There’s always more mystery, danger and surprises from Tara on the horizon so the question is, what’s next for Amaya and her mansion of sexy men?
