I am a yoga teacher and a family nurse practitioner. Timothy Mccall is an internal medicine physician, yoga teacher and yoga therapist, ayurvedic practitioner and author. I have enjoyed and benefited from his previous writings about yoga so I decided to read this memoir of his journey thru cancer. I was not disappointed.
This is a personal as well as practical view of negotiating the Western and Eastern Medical systems. I appreciated the different viewpoints, obstacles and successes he shared. Currently only in Kindle format, the book version will be available in Spring. I recommend anyone facing a cancer diagnosis who desires to add Eastern based therapies read this book.

Useful and groundbreaking: would be a much better read with some skillful editing

I am a herbalist and health educator and also a yoga enthusiast, so this book fascinated me. The first half was a diary of the author's cancer treatment, and well done. However, the second half of the book had a lot of grammatical and s p telling errors and needed a lot of tightening up and sequencing corrections. All in all, the book was interesting and informative, and I recommend it.

Applied Ayurveda

As an Ayurvedic Health Counselor, I found this book to be an excellent example of how to use Ayurveda alongside western medicine for optimal results.

3.5 I really liked the sections about his diagnosis and conventional mixed with alternative treatment but got bogged down in the latter part of the book.

far reaching

We’ll documented and informative, also autobiographical and honest about self and others. Emotionally astute as well. Very worth reading too.
