Surprising and thrilling
I would never have questioned how certain books turn out,till you get in the middle of a story. They always make me laugh, smile and cry to the end.
If you enjoy reading, you will never be disappointed with Mr. Archer. I can hardly wait for his next book on Sam, family and the gang from Windlass crew.

A guilty pleasure
I basically devour most of David Archer's work, like a bag of chocolate chip cookies, so it's no wonder that I plowed through his latest Sam Pritchard novel the day it arrived.
Pritchard is suddenly jailed because DNA evidence found in three different locations on a murdered 14 year old girl is a 99% match to him. So just as he's given up security work to retire, all he'll breaks loose in his world. But all his former colleagues rally round him (given that Archer had come up with a fine bunch at that security firm, why wouldn't they get involved?) And look to sort it out.
Can't go into a lot more without revealing twists and turns, so I want to explain why there are four stars and not five. For me, it boils down to this - while the cast of characters changes (including a surprising death), Pritchard doesn't. It's clear that Archer will be writing Sam Pritchard novels for a while, and what I haven't seen is any development of his character. He's the same guy as he was five books ago; life hasn't changed him beyond stepping away from high-risk work.
I suspect some of that may be due to the speed at which Archer is producing his work. It seems like he's giving us three or four (maybe more?) Books per year. That kind of pace resembles TV scripting for a series. And when's the last series you recall that showed character development? Inventive plots and unusual circumstances, but that's all.
And I also admit to recently reading three by Michael Connelly so I'm doing some comparison. One big thing about Connelly's Bosch series that is different is time frame. Reading Archer's Pritchard books and barely four years have passed over the course of ten books. Connelly's dealing with years between books.
Let some time pass between books. Let Pritchard 's infant son start first grade or his daughter hit puberty. It looks like his sister is about to get involved with another character - good! Let's return to them after a year of marriage. We don't need to Stonehenge through the dating dance.
However he writes the next one, I'm going to buy it and read it. I'd like to see more depth in it. That's all I'm saying.

Beauregard & the Flibbertigibbet.
Another superb offering from David Archer.
He sends Sam on a somewhat unusual path this time, to prove he is not a psycho who stabs young girls & kills them after brutalizing them horrendously.
Problem is his DNA matches & an eyewitness identifies him as the perpetrator.
Sam is not the only one in for a shock, life changing discoveries lead to the demise of two people close to him.
Strange as it may seem, these two death complete a circle & somehow seem right. The last few pages are the icing on the cake - looks like the old soldier has met his comeuppance. Can't wait for notification of the next Sam Prichard novel.

Later Ego
This book really ticks me off. A 6 star book until the bad guy disarmed everyone @ the same time by running into one person. That stinks! Then shoots one main character to death. If 3 experienced professionals can be knocked down and all lose their FIREARMS then they should ALL be shot, not the one that was shot. A main, MAIN character was killed off for NO decent reason other because of a WEAK DAMN ENDING. Rework the book and correct the ending and I would give it 6 stars or more! I purchased my book from Amazon as I do all of the books I comment on. GREAT SERIES OTHERWISE.

Sam is going to need some help if he has any chance of proving his innocence and finding out what really happened, especially with more lives hanging in the balance..... So. it's just as well he has the right 'friends' to call on.

The same and badopposite
Another Prichard mystery, this story revolves a hidden loose only to become reality. Quite a temporary shame has Sam doing what he always does which is find the truth however it’s hidden leaving nothing stopping the answer from being discovered. The answer doesn't always mean Sam and family don't suffer pain along the journey which makes it more believable because doing the right thing often isn't easy.
The combination of difficulty finding answers, strange twists, and great storylines justify praise.

Another great book best ever
This is another great Sam Prichard book. I could not stop reading it. It usually takes me a week or two to read a book ,I read this in two day's. If you like mystery books you have to read this one. If you haven't read all of the Sam Prichard books you must read them this is the best one yet. Get it a enjoy.

A Good Story, Well Told But an End of an Era
Truly a family drama tale, perhaps not the way you're thinking but truly worthy of a Soap Storyline. If you don't know what that it is,I'm proud of you. Enjoy the story. It still has all the investigation thrill you expect from Sam Pritchard and Windlass Security. Yes, even Beauregard had a role.

Huh!
Aint that a kick! You wake up like usual and attend to your normal routine and the next thing you know cops knock on your and arrest you. And to boot, they are overwhelming evidence that you are guilty because the DNA found on the victim is proof positive.
Ok Sam, how the dickens are you ever going to get out of this one?

OMG. FANNOMENAL
New word...fantastic & phenomenal. This novel was superbly written, designed. Archer you out did yourself this time. You are a hard act to follow. You've set a new bar for yourself. This was by far one of the best novels I've had the pleasure to read. Keep it up Mr Archer.

This latest book in the Sam Pritchard/Indie series was awesome. It had a reference to a Star Trek episode in the 60s and it modern day technology (DNA testing). Unfortunately it had death. The plot was outstanding and once I started reading the book I couldn't put it down. A new character was introduced as we said goodbye to another favorite character. Great ending.

This is my least favorite too much detail of the killings, and chapters of the killer’s thought. DNA was proven, and Sam charged with a serious crime, and one that is air tight the detective believes. How to solve and find the real killer was the plot, with changes now ahead for Sam and his family.

Love the Sam Prichard series!
I have read all of the books and they are great. I am hooked! A little upset at what happens to one of the grandmothers in this book, but will just wait to see how it is handled in future books. Highly recommend this series and author.

WOW...What a Brilliant Book
This book is full of twists and turns that makes the reader not wanting to put it down. Don't start it if you have to work the next day! As always with David Archer books, I absolutely recommend this one.

What a story!
Sam gets into serious trouble in this story. Twists that seem to be insurmountable. Kim's ghost is confusing as ever. Close calls in every chapter to keep you on the edge of your seat.

SUPERB
This is just the best Sam Pritchard book yet & I’ve read them all this surpasses all of the others & they’re all very good, it’s unique & a non stop roller coaster of a ride. I just didn’t want it to end. Absolutely thoroughly enjoyed it.

One of his best!
Just when I thought all of Archer’s works were going to end ,happily, he threw me a curve. The ending was sad and unpredictable. An excellent read, I’m glad the ghost survived.

As always David Archer is improving with each story. This one was twisted in a good way. The ending was expected because of Beauregard, and then it twisted slightly again. Wonder what's next???

Sam's Retirement is short lived
I'm hoping with this last adventure, Sam realizes he can't stay away from the action! He's too good of a person to stay out of the game too long. I just wish he'd get that darn hip looked at once and for all 😊!

MIND BLOWING!
This book is the best in the series. Grace a wonderful mom defending her family till the end. Sam and C.J. Holy smokes. I can't imagine a twin out there and not knowing him or her. Page turned for sure.

Wow , this story had such an unexpected twist to it .
