Who doesn’t want to be in love? When you truly love someone, it doesn’t matter how long two people have been apart. Real love can be picked up and restored at any time. That’s what happens with Hosea and Chyna. Once high school sweethearts, circumstances bring the separated lovers back together. While they’re working on getting back to that old thing, there are a few people lurking in the shadows, plotting to tear them apart.
Chief loves his girlfriend of six years, Portia. Like most men, he has to dip outside of his relationship. He’s in love with Portia, but there’s something about Jazzy that has him living a double life. When her roommate finds out about his main chick, she places an ultimatum on the table, but what happens when she doesn’t uphold her end of the deal?
Kyng loves his snow bunnies, but Neesha has him ready to try a dose of chocolate. She has her own personal issues to deal with though. Her home life is in shambles, and she’s the breadwinner in her relationship with her boyfriend, Dee. Kyng doesn’t want to apply any pressure on her; he just wants to get to know the beautiful waitress he meets at Denny’s after his girlfriend causes a scene.
Can these couples stand firm through every storm life throws at them? Or will they crumble and fold when rough times hit in waves?
This was a pretty good read... It moved at s nice fast steady pace... There was so much going on that I didnt know what was coming next... This storyline had a nice build up and even had me in my feelings a little bit... I loved the frienship that all the females had in this book... Chyna and Portia are smart and about their business... Although they have men that will take care of them they want to be out there making their own money... They don't want to have to depend on a man... Chyna is out here messing with males and females... She does not want a committed relationship after what happened with her ex boyfriend Hosea... He even moved on and had a wife and 2 kids... All was going good until they cross paths again... This cause all the old feeling and emotions to come back... Although Hosea was married he was not happy and was in the process of leaving... So once him and Chyna got reconnected he was making sure he did not lose her again... Things moved pretty quickly with them... But there is still unfinished business on both ends that just keeps inferring with they are trying to build... The question is will it be to much for them to handle... Portia is in a relationship with Chief who happens to be best friends with Hosea... Now this is the power couple that everyone wants to be like... They have a love so strong that nothing can come between them... She is every man's dream... Well you guessed it... Chief just did not appreciated what he had at home... Even after being warned about what will happen... Like with mose men he just didn't know how to be faithful no matter how good of a woman he had... Be got greedy and wanted what he had on his plate but also reaching into someone else's plate stealing pieces and hoping not to get caught... But he kept going back for more even when he was full... Then he started getting sloppy about it... Then when he got caught he wanted to act like it was no big deal and it didnt mean anything... If it didnt mean anything and he didn't want her... Then why even reach over to began with if it meant nothing yet he couldn't stop... Just never satisfied no matter what... So all because Chief could not stop, look at what has happened with Portia... I hope she does not take him back... Make him suffer the lost and really feel what he just missed out on... Then make him have to watch her move onto the next man that will appreciate her the way she deserves... I was so glad to see that Chief's own brother Kyng put him in check... Kyng loved Portia like his real sister because she has been around since Kyng was young and she always made sure he was good no matter what... So to see his brother do her like this really set him off... With Kyng he hangs with some friends that he has grown up with Ceaser and Davio... I really am not feeling this Davio friend for some reason... He just feels real shady... Everyone else is starting to pick up it as well except for Ceaser and Kyng... I think he has something up his sleeve I'm just not sure what... I just hope that Kyng and Ceaser find out about this before it is to late... Now wait a minute... How much more can Chyna take in one night... Just when she thought it was bad enough with what she was dealing with with Portia... Now this happened at home... Then on the streets... What is really going on in these streets... I don't know what is happening... Got this story all built up then just gonna leave me hanging like that...Ugh now I have to wait for part 2 to find out how it all turns out...
I really enjoyed reading this book. It was well written and I loved and enjoyed the storyline. I like the chemistry between Chyna and Hosea...hopefully they get it right this second time around. I also like the chemistry that was between Chief and Portia, although he was messing up badly. He needs to sweat a little...learn a lesson.. Deuce...I knew that was coming, just was expecting Portia to be there too. Hope things work out. Good read! Patiently awaiting part two.
This is my first read by this author, but definitely not my last. Enjoyed the storyline, plot and these characters. Held my attention from beginning to end and what a ending. I couldn't put it down...a page-turner. Flowed really well at a fast yet steady pace. It was full of drama, secrets and I wanted more. Really loved Chyna and Hosea together. Would like to see a relationship between Kyng and Neesha, hopefully she'll give him a chance. Now, Chief knows he's messed up big time with Portia, but I hope with time they work everything out. Highly recommend this book and I can't wait for PT 2. Job well done Cayla.
This story was good from start to finish .I'm glad kyng punched his brother for violating Portia, I'm glad Tasha dodged that bullet she could have been dead right along with deauc Great job
This is my first time reading this author but if definitely won't be my last. I really liked this book and the characters. Although I liked Hosea and Chyna, Portia was my favorite. I loved how dedicated to the people around her and for Chief to treat her like that had me in my feelings. I hope that if you put them back together you better make Chief work. Hosea and Chyna were cute together I loved the fact that they got back together after all that time and the love was still there. I can't wait for part 2 and see what drama unfolds next.
First book I read by this author but definitely not my last. I absolutely loved this book. It was full of so much drama and craziness...I love Chyna and Hosea together. I hope Neesha gives Kyng a chance and I hope Chief and Portia gets it together....Chief’s mother was so funny. I wasn’t ready at all for that ending. This is most definitely a must read. I can’t wait to read part 2...Cayla you did the darn thing with this book...
I need part 2 like an addict needs their fix. This book was so good that I haven't moved since I started it. I want to see Portia make it thru this and boss up. My heart hurts for Chyna and I know Hosea is not gonna be able to stop what's coming. I could go on and on about this book.
This book was wonderful, the way the story came together was dope, it was well written. Chyna and Hosea are a cute deadly couple, who go through a lot in life. But no matter what they stick together, I ready for part two, that was a cliffhanger!
All I can say is wow! There's a lot one has to be prepared to deal with when it comes to loving a thug. I didn't even feel bad for Chief because he got himself in that position but I felt for Portia. To know she had been doing everything to keep Chief happy and still get done the way he did her would hurt anyone. I like Kyng but I need him to realize before it's too late that his homie isn't as official as he thinks. Hopefully he can make something work with Neesha. Chyna stay wilding but I know after the news about Deuce she'll feel it's her fault but she should realize it wouldn't take long for the person he was after to know and prepare for anything. Hosea seems like a good dude and I like him with Chyna because he pushed her to stop continuing to put her life in danger. Cita really is crazy and should've been dealt with. Jazzy accepted her role only to become annoying and I hope her roommate gets what she deserves for being messy. I can't wait for part 2 and hope Chyna is alright and Portia gets her mind right.
Loving A Thug is the first book I've read from this author and it wasn't really the story for me. The only character I found myself liking was Portia. I could really care less about the rest of them. Chief didn't deserve Portia. I didn't feel the love between the main characters, Hosea and Chyna. Hosea's wife Rae was a whole mess. Tiff was a hot mess and too extra and I didn't like her at all, and Kyng was okay. I did enjoy the way Kyng chose to stand by Portia when it came to the choices his brother was making but even that wasn't enough. There was drama but this story still fell flat for me. It ended with a major cliffhanger regarding Deuce and even though I already own the second book, I have no interest in reading it.
This book was definitely a Banger!!..I loved all the couple's & how close everyone was..Cita & Rae & Tiff were on some get back but Cita took crazy to another level..grab ur copy..it was lit!..🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I was immediately drawn into this book all the main characters are great. I even felt bad for Chief at the end I hope he and Portia work it out. Can't wait for sequel.
Didn't care for it kinda bored with it kept looking interest in it from beginning to end will definitely read the 2nd book to see if it's a bett er read and catches my attention.m
