After getting suspended from playing hockey, I’m failing yet another class. And now, a blogger who calls herself The Queen is broadcasting my secrets all over campus.
Out of luck and options, I hire a tutor. But I never expected the person behind the screen name to be my ex-hookup.
Samantha still hates my guts for giving her the “Tucker Kane treatment”. She wants nothing to do with me and makes me work for every second I spend with her.
But as I jump through hoops to win her over, I discover something that shocks me to the core, leaving me with one question.
What if the girl I’m slowly falling in love with is the blogger behind the posts that are threatening my future?

2.5 stars This is the third in the Face Off Legacy series and centers on Tucker Kane. All of these books overlap in time, but tell the stories of the offspring of the original Face Off series characters. In the previous book, we got to know the identical twins Trent and Tucker Kane when they fell for the same girl (and Trent ends up winning her heart). Tucker is partying too hard, is failing his classes, and may get kicked off of the hockey team if he doesn’t get his act together. He goes on the college tutor website, and makes an appointment with some one named Sam. Little does he know that this is Samantha, a drunken hookup he had when they were both freshmen. For Tucker, he didn’t do relationships, so he blew her off. Sam wasn’t happy being used and forgotten. Of course they are thrown together and find their way to their happily ever after. This book didn’t do it for me. Tucker was a narcissistic jerk, and I didn’t see a lot of growth in his character. I was really wasn’t sure what Sam saw in him, other than the fact he was hot. At about 70% mark of the book, Tucker seemed to completely change his personality. It almost seemed like the author realized that they needed to wrap things up and skipped a few chapters. I like this series overall, so I am looking forward to the next installment in this series. I received an Advance Readers Copy of this book from the author for my honest review.
Smoking hot sports romance filled with witty banter, emotional thrills and heart pounding action..... Loved it!!! They need each other in so many ways and don't even realize the most important one till much latter.... Great opposites must attract and make each other better romance.
I really enjoyed Tucker and Sam’s book . He’s a real character, wild and untamed, until she gets her way and he starts to listen. In fear of loosing his place on the team he has to persuade her to help him.
The Face-Off Legacy series is definitely a hit with me, as each new book keeps getting better & better because these boys keep me on my toes, and the girls that bring them to their knees are nothing short of amazing! This is Tucker's story, as he was going down a bit of a rabbit hole in the previous book about his twin, Trent, so I was anxiously waiting for this one, and the amazing Jillian Quinn didn't disappoint! Tucker met Sam at a party a while back, and they hooked up, but it ended badly. Since then, Tucker has gone down a road where he's about to mess his future up, and when he needs help with his grades, he signs up for tutoring with Sam as his tutor. Yeah, that's complicated, especially since she's not going to do it. Now he has to figure out how to get her to give him a chance, but Sam isn't an easy sell. On top of that, there's this lovely gossip blog going targeting the hockey team, so yeah, life isn't all it's cracked up to be. Sam was great, and I loved how she didn't take crap from Tucker, who has been getting away with too much lately, and someone needed to, because he's not listening to those closest to him. However, their chemistry game is strong, so there's that, but Sam's strength still keeps him at bay, so sexy times take a cool minute before they catch fire again. The cast of secondaries are back from previous books to entertain me again, so there was laughter, plus the set up for more books, which has me excited. And with my favorite Harry Potter references, twists that brought out the colorful metaphors, which also had me waiting for "Tick Tock B*t*h*s"-A (Yes, I'm now watching Pretty Little Liars, & no, there are no murders), and finally the mystery that will continue on in the next book, there wasn't anything I didn't love about this story! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
I enjoyed this entertaining read. I thought the story was fun and it held my attention. This is Tucker and Sam's second chance romance. The chemistry is scorching between these two and the attraction powerful, but baggage from the past casts a very long shadow over this couple. I liked Tucker. He had a lot of charm, has quite the sense of humor and is hot. To start off though, he suffered from a major dose of BMOC which made him a way too full of himself. Luckily life and Sam will take care of that. Sam I really liked. She was sassy, smart, strong, caring and had a core of sweetness and kindness. It was easy for me to sympathize with her. Their story has drama, emotional turmoil, tension, secrets and steamy passion. A terrific book and an excellent addition to this series. Already looking forward to book four. This is my frank, freely posted review.
This is the third installment in the Face-Off Legacy series--a spin-off that tells the story of the lives of the children of the original characters. The novel revolves around Tucker Kane, a Collegiate NHL hockey player who cares about three things and three things only--hockey, sex and women--and Sam, a struggling Journalism major with a past. After a shady blog post and some unwanted attention, Tucker is in desperate need to boost his grades in order to stay on the hockey team--however the only tutor available is with the one woman who despises him the most.
So this one started off really intriguing, I knew going into this that the book was short so everything was more likely than not going to be fast paced. I was braced for this. What I wasn't braced for was the lack of character development and the complete 180 in personality from both our main characters. At the beginning Tucker is shown to be a self-absorbed prick who only uses women and never dates them--an ass to everyone but his friends and family, Tucker was lighted as someone to hate. Samantha, however, was the exact opposite. From the very beginning, Sam was written to be an independent woman who has done what she has had to do in order to survive; having been burned by men before, Sam has trust issues with those of the opposite sex and has a wall guarding her heart the size of Everest. But both of these characters changed in the middle of the book, no longer was Tucker the asshole guy trying to stay in Hockey, but instead he was sweat and almost endearing in certain parts. Samantha, turned into a very dependent woman who desperately needed Tucker to "take away her pain".
With these sudden (and I mean really sudden) personality shifts, it felt like the author realized things were beginning to wrap up plot wise and the characters needed to start wrapping up and changing--so chapters were cut. Things began to fall into place a little too easily and the romance didn't feel real or authentic to me because of this.
I did however, really love the mysterious blogger sub plot. Giving off serious Gossip Girl vibes, this portion of the story really drew me in and kept me reading solely to see what would happen next with the self dubbed Queen. Her shady posts and truth revelations about the hockey players were a unique aspect you don't really see in a lot of sport romances and I thoroughly enjoyed reading how the guys had to do damage control after every post.
Overall, I enjoyed this novel and had a partially good time reading it--especially in the beginning, however I don't think I am invested enough in these characters and their lives to want continue with the series.

The good news is that the sexy times are hot, there’s enough humor to keep me happy and the angst is low. The book is a dual POV (which I prefer) so you get both sides of the story. For the most part, Tucker’s (male lead) priorities make sense - he wants to play for the NHL so his focus is on hockey and training. He should make school a higher priority but doesn’t and women are just for sex because he doesn’t have time for a relationship. The biggest issue for me was that I didn’t really like Sam (female lead). She’s been holding a grudge for three years that I don’t think she really has a right to - she knew what he was like, wanted him anyway and didn’t argue when he said that he doesn’t do relationships (in fact, she agreed). She uses her financial circumstances to justify every action and feeling. Repeatedly. The other problem is that the book doesn’t really have a good arc for either main character; it’s like 70% through the book, a switch flipped and now they’re different.
This is book #3 in the Face-Off Legacy Series. Each book in the Face-Off Legacy Series is a full-length standalone novel that can be read in any order, complete with a HEA,
In this book we have Tucker Kane, who is a privilege kid who doesn't really care about much other than playing hockey. Tucker is a hockey player who has been failing his class, so in order for him to maintain his reputation and secure a place to be a professional hockey player in his future, he needs to excel in the subject he failed. Tucker tries to get a tutor to help with his college classes. Tucker doesn't want to put in the effort of actually studying, he just wants to play hockey. The student tutor he tries to hire, isn't who it's supposed to be. He is supposed to meet up with Sam. However, it's a different girl. When he realizes who it was he was supposed to meet he wants to know why she is hiding from him. They had a bit of history before and a good one too. Tucker met Sam at a party a while back, and they hooked up, but it ended badly.
Sam is a hard working college student. She is double majoring in Journalism and Law. She works 3 sometimes 4 jobs. She needs the money to help her get through college. Student loans are not enough for her. She has an alcoholic father who just drinks and passes out on the coach at home. Instead of working and being an actual adult, he relies on Sam to take care of him. Sam doesn't know why she bothers supporting him when he can't even shower. Sam is the adult and the father is a child who she has feels obligated to take care of.
The hockey team has been getting hit hard by a social media presence that sends out emails / texts to the hole school when the hockey team does something bad. No one seems to know who this person is who is sending out the text messages. Other than the signature "The Queen". Will the hockey team be in jeopardy with the college with what she posts about them?
Can Sam help him without crossing the line? Will he make it easy for her after finding out she’s gonna be teaching him? What will happen if they cross the line?
I did receive a ARC copy for the Author. I am freely leaving a review
Get you a Tucker! You know I think Tucker gets a bad rap, but this book gave us more of our favorite bad boy. I enjoyed this book, but felt it could have been just a but more for me to rate it a full 5 stars. I liked the forbidden aspect of this book.
The plot of this book was interesting. I felt for Tucker. I mean in the last book, if you read it, he kind of gets a raw deal. I mean it was a messed up situation in all, but my heart ached for poor Tucker. I liked seeing him get his own story, even if it meant he had to go through more stuff.
The characters in this book were dynamic. Obviously I lived Tucker. I root for the underdog and I feel he really was one under his tough exterior. Sam was a cool chick. I liked her alright. I did find her annoying at times, but she was chill.
I liked the chemistry between the two characters. They had this whole scorned past thing going on. Add in the forbidden teachers assistant aspect and the heat was thrilling.
The writing style of the book was good. I liked the steady pace. The story is told from dual point of views. I liked seeing the other characters. My only complaint is there is a gossip girl feel to this book that wasn't present in the others. It confused me as to where it came from.
Overall, I liked this book. It was a solid book for this series. I really like that we are getting another book after and that it is about a different character I've come to love
Div 1 Ice Hockey alpha + go getter sweetheart= another epic face-off novel.
Being an Aussie, I never really understood Ice Hockey, but the Face-off series converted me! After meeting the parents and falling inlove with their stories, the Legacy spin off so far has been everything I have come to love.
Tucker Kane; Swoon worthy alpha male who will do anything for his girl. Samantha; the girl who will do anything to just survive. Even if it means becoming a sellout.
I gotta say, this story lacked a lot of information I would have loved to have read from Truckers point of view, but if you read it straight after Keeping Kane then alot of the blanks are filled in via his twin brothers story, as they overlap. Aside from that I loved how Tucker was able to realise with the help of Sam he maybe could do better. I love that Sam eventually brought Tucker into her life.
There are so many aspects of this story I loved, no I am not a potterhead but if I got that first date it would probably be instalove. Another thing I found delightful was the setup for Jamie's book. Instantly curious. *Team Shannon* There were also things I didn't like so much, like how we found out Sam was a sellout. I felt like maybe there should have been more, but I did enjoy the concept. And maybe more groveling, this had all the feels of a second chance romance, but I wouldn't have minded more time apart for our main characters to grow and develop.
Tucker is a carefree, hockey loving, playboy, that skirts through life on his good lucks and fame on the ice. He has never really put much thought into the fact that it's damaging him physically and mentally, his focus in the classroom is pretty much non-existent. His grades are suffering, he's on suspension, and if he doesn't do something now he'll end up being booted off the team. Being threatened with potentially having to say goodbye to his dream of playing hockey professionally is enough to scare him, so he decides it's time to get serious and get a tutor.
But when he shows up for his first lesson he realizes he is in big trouble, his tutor is a woman from his past, and he didn't end things with her on the best of terms... and she plans to make him pay dearly for that!
The Hook-up King is a story of redemption, second chances, and forgiveness. After meeting Tucker in previous installments I knew he was spirally down a path that wasn't going to end well, and after getting a better view of him it was evident the boy was a mess. He let his partying and carousing get in the way of what was important, and it took a strong willed woman like Samantha to help him see that. I loved watching her giving him grief, she kept him on his toes, and me smiling. This was an enjoyable addition to the series, it was engaging, steamy, and good on the heart. Highly recommend you check out this series, the men of the Face-Off Legacy series are certain to score serious swoon points, and their stories will put a big squeeze on your heart!
I requested an advanced copy of this title, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.
Teaching Tucker by Jillian Quinn “Can the playboy change his ways? 3 stars”
Hockey, women, and partying is what Tuckers life consists of. Some switch in Tucker flips and he realizes he needs to grow up. That’s when he meets Sam or meets her again. Will he be able to show her he’s changed? And what happens when he develops feelings for the woman who’s supposed to be teaching him? Sam is the serious type and has no room in her life for someone like Tucker. But those old feelings from back when she first met Tucker start to come back to the surface. Will he be able to convince her he’s changed? Will she be able to step outside of her comfort zone and be with him? Teaching Tucker wasn’t exactly what I was thinking it was going to be. Where Sam is his TA I figured it would have more of a taboo theme but it wasn’t really expanded on. It was like the characters did a complete 180 in personalities and just hooked up. Honestly the only thing that held my attention was the subplot on who was behind the blog posts. It could just be me and not loving Teaching Tucker. If you take a chance on it I hope you enjoy it. Plot-3/5 Characters-3/5 Heat-3/5 Writing style-3/5 Overall-3/5
Tucker is a hockey player who now finds himself in danger of losing his dream of playing in the NHL if he doesn’t clean up his act. His priorities have always been hockey, girls and then school but he now finds himself in danger of not being able to play if he doesn’t pick up his grades. He is used to being admired by all so when he is introduced to his tutor, he knows he’s in trouble.
Sam is working multiple jobs just to make ends meet and one of them is as a teaching assistant so the last thing she needs is for the student she is tutoring to be Tucker as based on their past they are like oil and water.
They know that they should stay away from each other as being together could be costly for both of them especially with the secrets yet to be revealed.
This is a story about second chances and new beginnings. Sam is perfect for Tucker as she challenges him at every turn, and I liked how he changed as the story progressed. I am enjoying this series and can’t wait for the next one.
I'll be honest, I didn't like Tucker in the previous books of this series but wow, he sure did win me over in this one! This story line partially overlaps with the previous book, Keeping Kane, so I'd recommend reading that book before this one.
A cocky, entitled athlete who's playing time is in jeopardy due to his academics. The usual jock needs tutoring story line. But the heroine wasn't the typical mousy, nerdy, unseen girl. She was a one night stand that he'd forgotten all about from his Freshman year. But when she walks back into his life, she makes him think and feel things he didn't think he was capable of. Sam really did give Tucker a run for his money!
I laughed, I cringed, I gasped, I cheered. This book had it all! I loved the progression of the chemistry between these two. I thought the underlying story of secrets and omission was great. It really helped bring some necessary drama to the read. 4.5/5 stars!
This author picked me up and transported me to a college in Pennsylvania to witness the story of Tucker Kane a member of the hockey team at S. University and buddies on the team. An anonymous blogger is making it their business to tell anyone that will listen everything the team is doing wrong. Meanwhile Tucker can't seem to pass his classes so he hires a tutor, she ends up being his TA and a former conquest of his. Samantha was young and naive when she met Tucker her Freshman year but for 3 years he has been walking past her and seeing her around campus without even a hello and it hurt. She was working 3 jobs to keep her head above water, she can't afford to turn the tutoring job down. But the more time they spend together the less she hates him and the more he can't get her out of his mind. How can they make this work?? Hot stuff!! Can't wait for Jamie and Drakes' stories
What a read! With a team filled with the prodigy of the Face-Off series you know these books are going to be good! Tucker is the other half of the Kane twins, (Trent's book was #2 in this series) and is just as sexy as his brother-they're identical after all! After being caught cheating Tucker has to apply himself to classes or he's off the team so he turns to a tutor-that's where this story really gets good! Sam is trying to keep herself from unraveling as she balances school, her many jobs and dealing with her absent from life father. Picking up a good paying tutor job seems ideal until her client ends up being the jerk that hurt her back in freshman year, his player reputation and his flirting is not helping the situation either. Fun read with sexual tension, feels and great characters! Can't wait for the next player!
Tucker the fun loving hot as sin bad boy of the team. he has no cares in the world except hockey, women and partying.. He is failing his law class and decides he needs a tutor except the only tutor he can find is a girl he messed with freshman year who doesnt want anything to do with him. As he recalls their night together he realizes he messed up.. he vows to show he changed .
Sam could never forget Tucker Kane, she knew going in he was a player but she always hoped.. When he basically dismisses her like she is nothing she is hurt and wants to never see or speak to him again. When he comes to her for tutoring help she tells him no. When he asks for a chance her heart can't turn him down
When secrets get exposed will all the hurt come back and will one big one ruin everything?
So here we meet the second Kane twin, Tucker. He’s really having a bit of a year... his grades are suffering, he has a suspension from hockey and to make matters worse the Queen is doing her best to mess with all the boys lives. Enter Sam, tutor, TA, barista.... the last person she wants to help is Tucker Kane... they have history, the problem being that he dismissed her...so why should she help him? He’s entitled, men like him should be taught a lesson... right? I wasn’t so keen on Tucker’s character or Sam’s really to be honest, I enjoyed the writing and the story moved along well but I just didn’t connect with them. I much preferred the first 2 books. I’m looking forward to seeing if Jamie can get his head back on right in his book coming next. I received an arc from the author and am choosing to leave a review
I just keep loving these books more than the previous one. It just keeps getting better and better in my opinion! I never want these books to end and am always sad when they do and I have to return to reality! This books gave me a serious book hangover, it was hard to get interested in another book after I read this one. The one thing I would have liked is for Tucker to have tried a little harder to win her back. Also it seems that in this series consistently it is the female that "messed up" and it would be nice if it was the male who had to grovel for once. Also, the book felt a little rushed and the romance between the main characters didn't feel as authentic ask it could have. I feel like everything was wrapped up a little too quickly and there could have been a little more. All in all I can't wait for the next one!
I really enjoyed this book!! Teaching Tucker is Book #3 in Jillian Quinn's Face Off Legacy series!! It can be read as a standalone or in order!! Tucker is a hockey player and to him that is all that matters, school is just something he has to do and taking it seriously is really not impostant to him!! Sam is a goody two shoes, she works 3 to 4 jobs to pay her tuition!! On top of that she is a teacher's aide!! Awhile back her and Tucker had a drunken night hook-up that didn't end well!! Tucker is failing his class and Sam knows that she can help him pass if she tutors him!! The chemistry between them is hot and I had a few LOL moments!! Add in some secrets and this book is a great read!! I like the whole hidden gossip blogger who has everyone scrambling around!! All in all I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend it and the series as well!!
Ok, ok - I didn't think I would love the Legacy series more than the original Face-Off series, but I'm woman enough to admit when I'm wrong. Loved Tucker's story. Sam took me awhile to warm up to, mainly because of what she was up to. But if I was in the same position as her - what would I do?? Their relationship spans over a period of time, and we do get flashbacks which I thought only added to the story. But what I liked most of all was how Tucker changed throughout the story. It was like he evolved from a boy to a man and it was wonderful to read. But hands down, the most perfect part was the proposal. So beautiful and very romantic - I loved it. Can't wait for Jameson's story next!! I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book
I have always loved this authors books. Tucker is your typical guy who likes to party and have fun, grades are slipping, and his hockey career is on the line. So he needs a tutor. Samantha is a TA, working her way through school, and in her freshman year had a drunken one night stand with Tucker. But Tucker doesn’t do relationships and blew Sam off afterwards, and this left a bad taste in Sam’s mouth. Pay back was in order and that’s when the trouble starts for the hockey team, and when Tucker finds out. Tucker feels like he was played but really so does Sam. When Tucker sees Sam after a hockey game he realizes they have to talk. And maybe they can straighten things out. I look forward to the next book. Kane
Tucker story in the face off series is so unique I loved it. It's no secret that Tucker like his brother Trent have a reputation at Strickland U,but now they have to deal with the Queen a blogger trying to expose them and their crew. The mystery of who the Queen is will keep you engrossed all book long. Of course like every other book in the series there's a love interest, and in this book it's Sam. At first I found it hard to like her but she grows on you as the book progresses. All and all this book is a fantastic new take on a second chance romance in the era of blogging. Cannot wait for Jamie is story if the glimpses we got in this story are any indication we are in for an epic story.
Tucker and Sam were amazing! A second chance to get this right. Their story is chocked full of drama, passion, emotions at their highest you will love these two together. The chemistry between them was off the charts, but they each have a past that continues to rear its ugly head when Tucker is in desperate need of help in the classroom and it’s none other than the woman he done wrong in his past. Sam is smart, sexy and sassy and wants him to feel some pain for how he treated her. This book was so much fun, Tucker really is sweet deep down, you can’t help but hope that he changes his partying ways and wises up. Sam just might be the girl to do that! Loved the book and highly recommend it. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
This is the third book in this amazing series. Tucker is an NHL hockey player, who glides through life with his good looks and fame, but unfortunately his grades are suffering, and he needs to up his game if he is to secure his place as a professional hockey player. Sam is a teaching assistant with a history with Tucker, and she is assigned to be his tutor. No spoilers; this is a definite must read for all sport romance lovers, you will not be disappointed. This is a well written story which is fun, humorous, and entertaining which all had me totally captivated throughout, and I cannot wait to read more from this talented author, whose work I highly recommend for all.
I love this series. This is a second chance romance of Tuck ans Sam. The interaction with the characters from this series is great. There are funny moments, memories of college days, finding of love, and a little hockey. Sam is a college student who is having to be the adult instead of her father, tired, opinionated, whiner. Tuck is a hot twin, playboy hockey player failing a class. He needs a tutor. Sam declines but ends up being his Teaching Assistant . Sam whines her way through half of the book, but turns into a good girl in the end. If you can get past the whining you will enjoy the rest of the book.
A fantastic story!! The storyline is filled with mystery, humor, romance, and plenty of twists and turns. The chemistry between Tucker and Sam was great. A little about the story; Tucker plays hockey at Strickland University. To be an active player you have to have good grades. Tucker has gotten in trouble in the past for cheating on tests. Tucker has to find a tutor to help him. Sam is the tutor Tucker gets. Sam and Tucker have met before, and it wasn't good. So what lesson will Sam have for Tucker ? This was a great read ! Looking forward to the next book ! I read this book as an arc program. 💖🐧💋
