Kazuki started writing novels when she was in her second year of junior high school. After taking an entrance exam, she entered into a national university before graduating and becoming busy with work, stopping her from writing. Once she was married and her child entered kindergarten, Kazuki had more free time, which she used to start writing again. From 2013 onwards, she started publishing her novel Ascendance of a Bookworm on the user-generated novel publishing website Shōsetsuka ni Narō which saw success. In 2015, she officially debuted with said series under the T.O. Books imprint.
A Slice of Life for a Mini-Librarian Honestly, Rozemynne's fierce obsession with the library is kind of a favorite vibe of mine. When the library opens, everyone must look out because this little bookworm is in a big rush to get there. “I’m going! The Royal Academy’s library awaits! I’ll do everything I can to go there!” She will stop at nothing in her Iseki reincarnation journey to manifest the most epic library of all time! Examples of Rozemynne being an unhinged librarian:
“You may use your free time here as you wish, milady, but we cannot allow you to access the library so readily when we know you will only cause trouble for everyone while you are there. In the temple book room, you prioritized reading over eating until you eventually collapsed, terrifying all those around you."
This Iseki is very cute and cozy. This is the first book in part 4, but is #13 overall covering Rozemynne's jouney after reincarnating into a world that doesn't have books! It helps to know some background, but reading every book in the series is not necessary. I skipped a few along the way to get here. Throughout the series she started from scratch making paper from papyrus and inventing a printing press. It has grown into an academic fantasy with magical beasts.
Now the daily life of Ehrenfest has expanded into some low-level political intrigue amongst Nobles in neighboring Duchies. "Whether big or small, there is always some chaos following a shift in power." Rozemynne has to grow from a character who obsesses over books to a teacher of geography and history.
All I want is a comfy atmosphere to read books in without having to worry about everyone around me.
As she gains more responsibilities in Ehrenfest, she learns how she must interact and engage with people of different ranks for the benefit of all.
So you’re telling me that, as an archduke candidate, my reading will make other people read too? Oh goodness! I guess it’s my duty to read all the time then!
I love coming back to this slice-of-life series as a comfortable escape when I need it.
A whole new world within the world built by Miya Kazuki but heavens, it is just as mesmerizing and interesting as the world already built in the past books.
Rozemyne going into the Royal Academy really showed a whole different world but it is simply just as gripping and interesting AND mesmerizing as the world already shown in Ehrenfest.
There's so much to point out in the Royal Academy but most noteworthy is how Rozemyne dragged all of the students with her to get what she wants which is - access to the library! It was such a feat that I'm honestly scared for her now too! It's scary to think from whom and what kind of attention she will gather to herself again. I just hope to heavens this does not result to her being attacked again (but seriously, at this point, the idea's not farfetched).
The classes are interesting. I have little interest (and liking) to the politics among the archduke candidate relatives but it's interesting to find out how they will react to the turbulence Rozemyne is bringing. It'll be a fun ride from here on, I'm sure!
The Divine Will gathering is much to think aboit too. I wonder what Rozemyne's Divine Will implies. After all, she got her Divine Will in what I assume to be the deepest part of the cave. It is as deep as that cave could go. She already saw the tree! And her Divine Will was shining in 7 colors, none less! I'm so stoked and excited to find out what that implies. Is her mana that superior? Is she so blessed that her Divine Will can only be found at the very same place the gods gave the first schtappe to the first king? This is certainly a very rich idea. Much to leave for the mind to think about.
Another noteworthy development is the magic tools - Schwartz and Weiss. Ahh, i want to know what made them awaken. I was of the opinion that it's merely because of Rozemyne's mana but now that everyone's making a big deal of it (re: epilogue chapter), I'm curious what it means and what it entails now. Did the magic tools awaken because of her very passionate prayer? Did her mana bolster such prayer? Much to think about, that's for sure!
Last thing about the Royal Academy that is worth noting is Hirschur. I feel like she is the stand-in Ferdinand for Rozemyne while Rozemyne is in the Academy. Though Hirschur is much more lenient than Ferdinand (for now) but it will be interesting to see how their relationship progresses.
The epilogue chapters are well-received (by me) too.
The first one - Syl's POV, is really such fun. I don't know but there's a sense of fun seeing Rozemyne's guardian trio having headaches because of her lol Run free and run wild, Rozemyne! Leave the headaches to your guardians! Lmao!
The second epilogue chapter though was heart breaking. The pain of not only losing your child at the eyes of other people but also slowly losing her in your own home as well. That is a pain so great, I don't think my mind can fathom it. I have cried plenty because of the chapter/s of Myne leaving her family but this time, this pain is not one pain for all but a gradual pain. It grows in your mind and festers there. All of that because of one sentence - "I guess we can't talk about Myne at home from now too." it is nothing but a festering pain in my mind. The pain of losing your loved one twice. Heavens, I just hope Myne's lower city family finds peace and happiness, really.
This book is packed with so much information and events and things that my mind is absolutely reeling! I need a reread, that's it! I'll read this again while I wait for the next hnnnn now, I'm excited!

The book started with emotional scene. It’s heartbreaking to see Rozemyne trying to be brave when everything she knows is suddenly so unfamiliar. The scene with Gil is especially sad. This installment introduced a lot of new characters, but they are all easy to remember with each having distinctive personality. It never cease to amaze me how Kazuki-sensei can fit so much in such a short book. We see all the struggles and motivations of each character in the most natural way. This book also have the result of the 2nd character poll. I suspect that Sir Damuel is getting sympathy votes with what he’s been through the last book.

Ever since I heard about the Royal Academy, I have been eagerly awaiting the day the story would reach it, and it finally has!
This volume lived up to my hopes (even if the academy is very different than I thought it would be), and it's my favorite book with Rozemyne, and one of my favorites in the whole series. I read the majority of this in a single day.
I'm super excited to finally get a country map! It's hard to know the size of the country, but it seems a large one just by the size of Ehrenfest versus everything else.
As for the story itself, I feel so bad for Rozemyne, as she feels left behind in a world that has continued on without her for two years. She also doesn't have much time to prepare for her future that is now her present, and then it's off to the Royal Academy!
But before I get too ahead of myself, there's the Prologue. It's told from Ferdinand's POV, and it's him filling Rozemyne in on what happened over the two years. Much of it is known to the reader from the previous volume's bonus stories, but there's some new info. Also, I liked seeing more of what happened shortly after Rozemyne woke up, as I hadn't thought about the consequences to her body.
Back to the main story, the Royal Academy is very different from what I was expecting. I thought there would be a lot more learning, but it seems you can test out of your classes and then kind of do what you want. Which, this volume focuses on passing all of the various tests (and some learning still happens in the practical lessons). So, your first year is a breeze if you've properly prepared for it.
Not to say everything is easy for Rozemyne. No matter how much she tries not to stand out, she does so for good or bad. Much of the time, there's quite a bit of humor to find in it. It's also fun to see her no longer at the top of the hierarchy, and I'm really interested to know more about this prince character.
There are a lot of new characters, and sometimes I couldn't recall who someone was (and I honestly still have trouble with a few of the characters from the previous arc), but... the author does state at the back she knows there's going to be problems with that and to just do your best to remember who you can, as even Rozemyne struggles to remember everyone. Plus, it makes sense there's going to be a ton of new characters now that the story has entered a school location. So, hopefully more time is spent on getting to know these new characters in the next few volumes.
I have to say, though, I love both Philine and Roderick. I knew Philine was likely to be important since her introduction earlier, but, after this book, I'm hoping good things will be happening for Roderick too.
Then we have the Epilogue. It's told from Sylvester's POV, and it's him and Ferdinand dealing with the reports they're receiving while Rozemyne is off to school. It makes the various events that happen in the book all the funnier, and the image that accompanies this makes me laugh. It's the perfect reaction.
As for the bonus stories, the first is told from Lieselta's POV. Honestly, she's been a pretty forgettable character for me. I couldn't remember who she was at first. Her story is sweet enough, and it gives more insight to how lower rank nobles live at the academy. I still can't say I really care about her (and her older sister is one of my least favorite characters out of the good guys), but we'll see what the future brings.
Then we get the story I was craving for the first several chapters of this book. It's told from Effa's POV. I'm still sad Rozemyne didn't get to meet with her blood family in this volume, but it's nice to get their reaction to the news she's awake. Kamil has now gotten so old! Which just kind of made me sad. I really hope him and Myne can meet one day.
Bonus comics! The first comic is super cute, and it must be a Japanese thing that drinking milk makes you taller. The other two comics were pretty funny as well.
Oh, and this book includes the results to a character poll. Some of the results don't surprise me, but I am sad at how much some of the characters from the Myne days have slipped down in the ranks. I know they hardly appear in the story anymore, but my top three are still Myne, Benno, and Lutz. I don't know if anything can change that. :P
Overall, an excellent book. It covers a lot of ground, but I loved every moment of it--especially once at the academy. The humor is always great, but the humor seemed even better than usual in this one. There was a lot of worldbuilding going on, but it was always done in interesting ways, and it was nice to see Rozemyne grow in new ways (or the slight subversion of how well she excelled at things). I love the small bits of drama sprinkled throughout this book from the other duchies, and I can't wait to see what comes next.
😍📚😍
Nuevo escenario, claramente nuevos personajes 🤭
Vasallos
( Serían una especie de asistentes... )
Philine
Admira profundamente a Angélica
***
Hasta ahí lo dejo...
Aunque aun me faltan 😅
***
Candidatos A Archiduques
***
One of the better entries in the series in a while. We're back to seeing Myne do what she does, exceeding expectations and doing interesting things.
I liked that the world building is explored a little more, and importantly, they talk about books! I was getting bored of the people and interpersonal-relationships focus that had polluted the past few books, and luckily it didn't get worse.
These books are so incredibly entertaining that I always end up reading them in one sitting when possible. Which means I stay up until dawn the day after the come out almost every time.
The worldbuilding and character development are top level. The plot is consistent but not boringly predictable. I am so invested in Rozemyne and her family and friends and employees because they are relatable or well written enough to be real. There are so many characters at this point that it could be hard to differentiate but they're are all brought to life in the pages such that it isn't hard at all.
This is the start of a new arch and I'm outrageously excited for the next one. (Maybe if I could slow down and savor them the wait wouldn't be so long, but much like the protagonist I have no self control.)
Myne's puts her grade through a hell-week! Lol, lol!
The beginning of this volume was a little bad for my emotions but I love school arcs so I feel like that was the price for admission. So many new characters, not sure how I feel about them yet. And oh my god we met some of them earlier! Why do I know this? Was I paying attention? Yes, but not closely enough apparently. I only realized it because I re-read the whole series before this one. What if I hadn't reread? I need to do it again in case I missed someone. So far the academy has been fun and made me giggle a lot. The whole dorm has realized not to get in the way of the library. There is a lot I want to ramble about but let's keep it spoiler free and end things here.
Miks see on hea?
Rozemyne may have just woken up from two years asleep, but there's no time to be lost---school is just around the corner, and she's obligated to attend. With the lure of a new library pushing her through the incredible work it will take to get there, Rozemyne is all ready to enjoy her new books . . . and everyone else in the duchy has no idea how badly she's going to wreck all their assumptions.
I think my favorite part of this series, aside from the excellent worldbuilding, is watching Rozemyne stumble innocently or on purpose into things like a well-meaning wrecking ball. Despite having the memories of an adult from her previous life, very little of it translates to the education she needs to get now. But her adult manner, her otherworldly common sense, and her sheer blindness to anything outside her burning passion frequently messes up everyone and everything around her.
First, the school. Like so many light novels, this is a school that teaches magic and regular subjects, attended by nobles. And unlike those other novels, who are very, VERY conscious of their status. The social hierarchy is life and death to them. Nobody is allowed to forget who is standing on top and who is underneath. And then there's Rozemyne, who blows off a prince because she finds him annoying.
Then we have the teachers, who have a variety of responses to Rozemyne's unusual magic. Some think she's a genius, some just think she's unusual, and some have apparently decided to become bitter enemies.
Add to all that the politics even in her own dormitory, as members of Florencia's faction and Veronica's faction both have children present, and it's a recipe for delightful chaos.
I like the continuing details we're getting about magic. How it works is both structured and tied to imagination, which is the bit that Rozemyne usually finds advantageous to herself. And I'm fairly certain there's some deeper meaning about how she acquired her schtappe, but since she never actually told anyone the exact circumstances, she hasn't had a chance yet to hear their reaction.
Overall, this book starts a new phase of Rozemyne's life, and therefore a new sub-series heading. If you're new you could technically start here, but I'd encourage reading them all, as this is a wonderful series that just continues to impress. I rate this book Highly Recommended.
Royal Academy, here we go haha... and poor Rozemyne have to fit her brain with so many stuff before she goes to the Royal Academy. As usual Ferdinand is a tyrant and do whatever it takes to make her the best she can be since she just woke up from her coma. She had lost two years in her life and she still looks the same and had never grown. Poor girl.
And the Royal Academy begins and she was so excited to see the library however, Wilfried was entrusted to make sure that she wouldn't go crazy and also stay all day long in the library along with Rihyarda because she will be just into the book without eating on time and might even passed out. And I love the library system too because it will stop the students from staying too long in the library.
But in order to have a time in the library, she will have to make sure she passed all her subjects including everyone in the first year. So, to get to go to the library she will make sure to drill the first year students to study and also make some study materials to help them learn better.
For her, there are some obstacles in some of the classes especially physical classes because she might need to a lot of energy because of her frail body. So, the professors have to make sure she is okay because Ferdinand had already inform the professors about her condition.
Wilfred and her other retainers and knights, will do their best to protect her because she is in danger no matter where she. And she is doing her best to be an achduke's adopted daughter and also to look out for Wilfred too in case the Veronica's fraction come to lure him into their wicked schemes.
Awww...and I can't help it but adore the Shumils that works in the library. haha... they are so adorable and cute. Can't spoil the whole story you will have to read it to find out.
I loved this book so much! Ascendance of a Bookworm is currently my 2nd favorite book series ever, and this volume did not disappoint. As always, Rozemyne and her obsession with books is absolutely hilarious. She works so hard (at the expense of her fellow first-years) to be able to go to the Royal Academy library. And as a bunny lover, I was very happy to see Schwartz and Weiss (I know they’re not technically rabbits but whatever). Rozemyne’s aversion to the Saint of Ehrenfest legend and Hartmut’s determination to spread it are super hilarious. Something I really love about this series is almost every named character (every one that I can think of, anyway) has their own personality and development. There’s no random background character that no one knows because they don’t do anything, and if someone seems like that character, it’s only because they haven’t had their time to shine yet. Brunhilde is fashionable, outgoing and friendly. Lieseleta is intelligent and thoughtful. Prince Anastasius is snobby and rude. These three characters have never shown up in the series before this book and are only supporting characters, but they have fleshed out personalities that will only be expanded upon further as the series continues. I also love the world building. Throughout the whole series, we are slowly but surely introduced to the world of the Sovereignty, from the life of a poor commoner to inter-duchy politics. This volume educates us about the duchy rankings and life in the Royal Academy, and rather than just being a giant lore dump, bits of information are introduced to us gradually throughout the book. Usually, we end up learning something substantial because of Rozemyne’s own not-thought-through actions.
I devoured this volume in two days. It delivered on every front, with a chaotic and exciting introduction t0 the long-awaited noble academy thanks to Rosemyne's ever-burning desire to go to the library. Overall, this was a fantastic start to arc 4. It might be my new favorite book in the series. 5 stars.

This book details Myne's preparations for and arrival at the Royal Academy. Given her two year sleep it's a good thing Ferdinand pushed her so hard in earlier years.
Honestly, the Royal Academy is weird. If you pass a test on the subject the first day, you don't have to attend classes. You have to also master practical knowledge of the subject, too. But if you can pass a test on that, you're free for the rest of the term.
There is a lot of stuff that apparently goes on besides classes, such as tea parties with assorted members of other duchies, practicing being fake polite to everyone, knowing who's important and who you have to bow to. The professors see that as just as important as lessons. It probably made sense in the medieval world this book inhabits, but wow. It's weird compared to current schools.
Best part of the book are the two magic rabbits (okay, they're called something else - shumils?) who work in the library.
Roseamyne awakens from her two year sleep and is old enough to attend the Royal Academy. But she discovers that she is not completely healthy after all. Although many of the mana clots were disolved, she now suffers muscle atrophy from the coma. Add her physical condition to the fact that she has missed out on 2 years of socialization, she isn't quite ready for high society.
But that doesn't stop her from forming a Raise the Grades Committee competition that raises grades and also helps heal interfaction politics. She ba the into the library, setting loose more condition in her enthusiasm and spends the year setting trends and mixing with Royals.
It seems that all the progression and quality writing end up at the beginning and end of the parts, hopefully not this time.
While part 3 felt very dragged out, there is a lot of worldbuilding and new characters right of the bat. I find her world view growing alongside our own picture of the fantasy world she is in quite amusing.
I believe it has lost some of its darker undertones, but that might be a false assumption. I do miss them though, since they really pushed some good medieval themes early on.
Rozemyne may be tiny, but she can still attend a school that is, at least, not a copy of Hogwarts. Let the games begin?
I loved how the author actually addressed the consequences of sleeping for two years. It was mentioned that her muscles atrophied so badly that she couldn't even raise her arm and it was only through the help of magic tools that she could move at all. Then even with her crippled body she continued to raise storms at the academy simply by being too obsessed with the library and having a different set of common sense from everyone else. It was super fun reading how she inadvertently creating one legend after another without even meaning to. Definitely ooking forward to read the rest of her shenanigans at the academy!
I’ve been waiting for this for at least 2 months and omg in the other books it says that there are other duchies but when you are experiencing the academy though rosemyne you truly see how large the map is and where she was living is just a small part of something way bigger. In some ways this book was overwhelming but with each book I get sad when I get closer to the end. I do appreciate seeing different views after the main story to give depth to the other characters
I can’t wait for the next book Bring it on September 1st
It has been awhile since the previous volume. And this one kind of started slow. The idea that our main character has been asleep for two years and needs to know what happened was good for catching the reader up as well but was kind of clumsy feeling. And yet being at the school has added a bit of life to the series. In fact there were points where this was hard to put down. And in the end lots of character were introduced successfully, and I'm excited to read the next volume. So not bad. 3.5 of 5.
Okay, I can see Myne's character development in regards to her book addiction and she's not as bad as she was in the first volume, BUT honestly I'm starting to find myself irritated with how psycho she is about books. And this is coming from a book dragon who has a personal library of a couple thousand books of my own. There is something seriously wrong when you are so addicted that you need keepers to run herd on you to make sure you actually take care of other things and important life functions. I honestly hope more development occurs where the girl learns to read in moderation.
I know I’m half drowsy from a sleeping pill, but I really do love this series so much I could cry. Rozemyne is entering her magical boarding school arc and I COULD NOT BE MORE DELIGHTED. She’s so tiny and plucky and I adore her tenacity. This is really making me think fondly of all the time I spent in my school libraries as a young student, and of the time I’ve been spending recently in the library at my college. It also feels very fitting that I got my copy second hand and it’s originally from the collection of the New York public library system!
This volume feels fresh just as I expected from a new arc in the story. As always, I find Rozemyne's obsession with books really endearing and I have a strong sense of kinship with her. The archduke daughter arc felt less lively with less charming attendants than in the temple, but the school situation introduces a lot of new characters that support and love Rozemyne. The interaction with some specific magic tools (I won't go into details for fear of spoilers) seems quite forced, I would have preferred more intentionality, but oh well, it's a light novel after all!
She finally got her library… Now if only she can get into it to read. I am still blood away but the talent of this author. Here we are 13 books in, and I’m still excited to read everyone. How does she keep it so entertaining, all the characters are awesome and I’m not bored at all. Normally 13 books into a series straight in a row, I feel some fatigue about the story. But here I am totally excited for 14… Her talent is amazing
The first half of the book was very emotional and difficult to process from Rozemyne's point of view, all the fear and sadness of wasting time, like traveling into the future with no idea what is happening. On the other hand, I really love Ferdinands' points of view, he is very mysterious to me and I love noticing his unclear intentions. The second half is lighter and more fun to read, introducing a whole new world beyond Rozemyne's understanding, very interesting and really well created.

Rozemyne entered the Royal Academy, and Wilfried's poor understanding of her book obsession led everyone to study extra hard. We also see Ferdinand's teacher who shares several quirks with him. A strong start of this new arc.
Seriously Ehrenfest would have been doomed without her. Not enough mana, nothing to boost the economy, a corrupt Church and no suitable archduke heirs. That world desperately needs her.
