I lost everything when I injured my knee. My football career, my girlfriend, my future. Now, I’m living the businessman’s life my parents always wanted for me. I’m rich, I’m successful, and I’m supposed to have everything I’d ever want.
But I don’t.
The only bright spots in my life are my Monday morning appointments with my gorgeous, sassy physical therapist. Week by week, Naomi is fixing my knee. And week by week, I look forward to our appointments just a little bit more.
But when an innocent tabloid picture sends my parents into a wedding frenzy, I have no choice but to ask Naomi to play along.
I make my parents happy, and Naomi makes a bit of cash. Easy, right?
We’re engaged. Or at least, we’re pretending to be.
There’s only one problem: it doesn’t feel like we’re pretending at all.
Engaged to Mr. Right is a sizzling-hot fake marriage romance. If you like billionaire bad boys with hearts of gold, you’ll love this page turner. Grab a cold drink, lock the door, and curl up with Max Westbrook in Book 1 of the Mr. Right Series!
Lilian Monroe lives in a luxurious jungle treehouse surrounded by lush greenery, with an army of scantily-clad men with rippling abdominal muscles ready to attend to her every need.
No, wait. That's not true.
Lilian Monroe spends her days dangling her feet into her pool, while a scantily-clad pool boy with rippling abdominal muscles feeds her chocolate-covered strawberries and massages her back.
Okay, okay. You got me. That's not true, either. Let's try again.
Lilian Monroe lives at home with her two children, three dogs, and twelve chickens. Her husband likes to work shirtless in the back yard. His sweaty, gleaming abdominal muscles ripple with every movement and he—
I'm sorry. I have to stop. Fine, I'll admit it. That one isn't true either.
How about this: Lilian Monroe loves thinking about men with rippling abdominal muscles serving her hand and foot, and she wants you to think about them too! She is an avid reader, writer, and lover of all things romance.
She loves everything from bad boys to billionaires. Her books are packed with sizzling-hot heat, action, suspense, and everything from second chances to single dads. She hates cheating and loves a good happily ever after (and rippling abs).
I love a good sports romance and this book didn’t disappoint. Naomi and Max enter a fake engagement to be able to benefit both of their needs. She needs to get some money and he needs his parents to leave him alone. Turns out that the fake engagement may actually turn into something real but you have to read it to find out.
I received an ARC of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
***splashing 💦 spoilers in this review; just a little bit, but not too much💧...•••
I was curious about this book since one of the other books was FREE. I was like why not start with book one before I start the free one. Mind you I don’t know which one it was; since I forgot lol...
But I thought this book was good, and his parents were kind of horrible-able plus I felt like he could’ve told his parents no on so many occasions, but if he didn’t, I believe that he and Naomi wouldn’t have ended up dating eventually.. even if it started off FAKE. So at least his parent done something good for their SON! Since he wanted Naomi anyways.
Though; I didn’t like how he accused Naomi of helping her father with the business deal. Like he was clearly an idiot to think she had something to do with it.. Especially when he came to her and asked her to be his FAKE fiancée and she ONLY agreed to his because of her mother condition... NOT her father; who she didn’t even know; she didn’t even know his name...
Until Max used his brain to figure out the truth by talking to her father Jerry.... and learning that nor Naomi or her father know each other... for one he didn’t know he had a daughter. She knew she had a dad but didn’t know who he was... Max only ended up hurting himself and her at the same time... but I was glad both Max and Naomi came to their senses and realized they wanted to be together, and he ended up to the actual job he wanted... wasn’t working for his parents which didn’t make him happy... which coaching football players actually did.. at least this time he ended up marrying Naomi for real this time... though I kept thinking she was going to end up pregnant, but that didn’t happen. Oh well...
The story of physio Naomi and ex football player Max. A bit of an insta-love story. Naomi is treating Max’s knee injury. I like the classic nursing the athlete back to sporting glory trophe but there were a few bugbears. Firstly the instalove. From the get-go Max is into Naomi, i would have preferred some build up here. Secondly, there is little sport in this book as Max never made it to the NFL due to his injury. It was just a little sad.
There relationship progresses when he bumps into her at a bachelorette party but becomes complicated when they are snapped by the paps. I don’t understand why everyone assumes they are engaged and I thought the whole story of Max’s parents insisting he marry else they’ll disown him just didn’t ring true. I know you often have to suspend your disbelief with some of these trophes, but this one was a stretch.
Anyway, there’s a big misunderstanding which could have been solved in seconds if people controlled their anger and communicated better. Max kind of lost it for me with his angry condemnation of Naomi. He goes a long way to make up for this later, but you know, it lingered for me.
It was an entertaining, hot read though so I’m straight onto the next. Hopefully there’ll be a bit more sport in the next one.
This is another great read from this author!! I'm not sure how I missed this series when it was released, but I am happy I started it now.
Naomi and Max are easy to connect with and enjoy. Max's life isn't his own, and the pressures his parents are putting on him to be engaged isn't fair. He turns to Naomi as a solution, and draws up a contract. Naomi finds out some troubling information that makes Max's offer very attractive. Each of them catch actual feelings, but past drama explodes what they had.
This was easy to read, and it's very entertaining. I recommend this book and this author.
Engaged to Mr. Right: A Fake Marriage Romance (Mr. Right Series Book 1) by Lilian Monroe
Naomi Rose is a Physical Therapist working at in New York who doesn’t believe in marriage thanks to her hippie/artist mother. Sometimes things make you question your beliefs.
Max Westbrook has two parents that seem to want to control nearly every part of his life. Some things they even can’t control, who he gives his heart to.
Max had big dreams but four years ago a tackle shattered his knee, his dream of going to the NFL and the woman that he thought loved him. Now, he spends his Monday at physical therapy. The only bright spot is his therapist, Naomi. He never knew the knee was erogenous zone but it’s doing all sorts of things to his system when she touches it. Naomi looks forward to Mondays and working with Max. For one, it gives her an excuse to put her hands on him. When Max’s parents give him an ultimatum of either get married or he loses his inheritance, he turns to only woman he can think of for help. When he asks her, she is understandably shocked? When she agrees he ask his fake fiancé on a real date so they can get to know each other. At least that is what he is telling himself.
This is a great start to a new series by Lilian Monroe! I absolutely loved the chemistry between these two characters. I laughed at the banter between Max and Naomi and how she always seems to have the last word. The relationship was endearing in so many ways. Max cared about her and wanted to comfort her from the very beginning. It even followed into his interactions with her mother and her situation. Naomi was good for him because she grounded him with all the chaos with is parents. She gave him strength to be himself. I about lost it when she couldn’t find the coffee cups in his kitchen and the fancy wine! At 2 am I tried so hard to be quiet and not laugh but it made it worse!

All opinions expressed within this review are uniquely my own & freely given! Until next time... Happy Reading!
This book had me swooning the majority of the time when it came to the interactions of the two main characters. Their attraction was magnetic and wonderful. The conflict of the story was a shock in a small world kind of way but very much still realistic. I loved that Naomi was such a strong woman with her own independence and she helped Max grow and develop as a man. Max was the only child to his parents and they always put so much pressure on him to succeed including the forced engagement. The ultimatum they gave him, he thought left him no choice. I loved the ending of this story; it was a little small world for me as well but it worked and again, I felt myself fall in love with their relationship. Definitely a worthwhile read, it didn’t take to long to read once you get about thirty percent into the book you can’t read fast enough.
3.5 stars rounded up. Dual POV. There are a few sexy scenes but this book could have used more of them as well as some humor. Max is likable enough but seems like a wuss when it comes to his parents. The book needed a proofreader and a vast reduction in the number of exclamation points. Also, this is a “fake engagement” book, not “fake marriage” and there isn’t really a sports romance aspect except that Max used to play football. On a side note, I don’t think that I’ll read book 2 as the lead female is Farrah, who left Max right after he was injured. Sorry, just don’t think that I’ll ever like her enough in order to read a whole book about her.
Fun & flirty! Yes, it's a spur of the moment fake engagement egged on by overpressuring society parents & paparazzi pictures, but is it sorta based on something real, something already sparking? Naomi is a physical therapist rehabbing the knee of former football star, Max Westbrook. This isn't your ordinary fake marriage/turns real/turns happily ever after. This has some all's-well-that-ends well moments. It's still swoonworthy and fun but with down turns that will make your stomach drop. Loved it!
This is an enjoyable romance that hooked me from page one. The storyline is flawless, funny, witty, enjoyable, and very interesting. The story flows smoothly and moves along at a brisk pace with excitement, lots of ups and downs, family drama, suspense, and a mix of emotions on every page. Loveable characters - the chemistry between them is powerful, and intense. A Must Read!

Naomi and Max enter into a fake engagement. He needs to keep his parents off his back and she needs money. It plays out like you expect. There is a twist or two but Max and Naomi fall in love and get their HEA. I liked Naomi. She was a strong character with a bit of sass. She had a great support system of friends. Max was ok. He let his parents control him. He finally got it together but it took a while.

I loved the light hearted, fast pace of this romance novel. I really enjoyed that we jumped straight into the story and the attraction between Max and Naomi - it didn’t 6 chapters of useless background that is only going to be repeated again later in the book. I liked the way the characters developed as we read them and got the know them as they got to know each other. It’s a well written fun story. I always enjoy Lilian’s books! Definitely worth a read.
I received an arc for an honest review, however, I did also purchase this book myself - I liked it that much. I love Ms. Monroe's books. Max, a football player, hurts his knee and needs physical therapy. Enter Naomi Rose, the therapist. Max's parents are too involved in his life and want him to get married and that is where the "fake" engagement comes into play. What starts as fake turns into...…………………………….You need to read this book to find out what happens. I highly recommend this book.
I absolutely loved majority of this book! Until Spoiler alert - Only thing that spoiled it for me was the drama with the PI report, everything was going so well for the couple then it’s like Bam they are done. Then a few months later they are back together. And they live Happily Ever After! Sweet
Another Fun read, twisty, story of Rich guy and a Physical Therapist.
This is a fun read with Rich folks, and regular folks. What comfort it is to know Rich people have troubles too. Fake Fiancé to calm down the rich parents…always a fun plot. Nice twist with her being a professional, and of course the fakers fall for each other. Enjoy!
I really enjoyed this story right from the first word until the very last one. I enjoyed the characters and their roles in this tale. I can't wait until the next book in the series. Lillian Monroe is on my list of must read authors.
This book was good from start to finish. I loved the characters and the story line. The relationship development was natural and effortless. The story line flowed seemlessly.
Naomi is a physical therapist and Max her patient a former football star and now businessman. A forbidden love story turned fake fiance romance and a good read. I loved the story line and the characters were great together. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
Argh! This book sounded great and started great but then it wham bam the only conversations with anyone in this book are about the couple... nothing else just them. DNF. There was no build up at all it was worse then Insta love almost like a rushed write.
I really enjoyed the slow build in Max and Naomis relationship. I had a feeling I'd read this before. It must have been so good I read it again. I'm really looking forward to the next book in the series.
It was okay. The ending though just wasn't enough for me. If they didn't meet accidentally after 4 months, they would not have ended together. Max wasn't even man enough to grovel or try to win her back after what he did.
This book is far from reality, and this big strong alpha male is really a wimp that allows his folks to have too much control. But Monroe just has a writing style that is enjoyable to read. It is fun to read stories sometimes that stretch out of real life a bit.
Holy hot man! Max is the max...for sure! Naomi lusts after him...and he does for her. Magic, wait! No, no, no fake! Oh, oh, Mom needs help. $250k will help! Ok fake fiancee to sooth asshole parents. But ...whoops! 😍 love! Can't say no!!! Loved the road to forever
Not a bad story, I was just not feeling the MC’s. I like my heroines snarky and sassy; and I like my heroes all alpha-possessive, kinda grumpy but sweet. I didn't find any of those qualities in the MC's of this book.
