A wolf with no claim. A disgrace to the wolves’ society. Never fit to be a mate for any wolf… Trash. Elodie Masters knows she is too weak to escape her life as a pack slave, a wolf with no claim and overall blight to the wolves’ precious society. When her pack is attacked, Elodie should have run, but instead she is kept by the Alpha Brothers. Ruthless. Cruel. Heartless brothers…or at least that’s what everyone says about them. And they were right. The brothers don’t want her as a mate; they claim she is too weak to be anything…but they won’t let her go. Yet sometimes strength hides in the weak, and you don’t see it coming until it literally bites you back.

G. Bailey is a USA Today bestselling author of books that are filled with everything from dragons to pirates. Plus, fantasy worlds and breath-taking adventures. Oh, and some swoon-worthy men that no girl could forget. G. Bailey is from the very rainy U.K. where she lives with her husband, two children and three cheeky dogs.
No Alpha was one of those books that I randomly came across on KU. It also doesn't hurt that it's from G. Bailey, and I've been really into her books. In it, you will meet Elodie. She's a no claim which means she hasn't claimed any mate or her wolf. So that also means... she's kind of a slave or lower than dirt. Her life sucks ass right now.
Well, until some alpha brothers come into her life and kill mostly everyone from her pack. There was drama and some and betrayal in this book. I was a bit confused at one point but then everything start to make sense.
At first, Elodie was meh to me. I just couldn't connect to her. I did like the smut and chemistry between her and the guys..but once something bad happened she would hide into herself likea damn turtle. It annoyed me.
The ending, however, was probably my favorite part. Yeah, the guys treated her like shit. Yeah, they wanted her back.. but was it a little too late at this point? Plus, with her being all savage and shit at the end being the alpha of the PACKS, yes you read that right, and I'm so excited for the next book. I hate waiting for it to be available but I loved this book and I can't wait for the next one!
Normally i like G. Bailey's books and this one sounded interesting. But wow, this book was really badly written with stilted writing and no depth to the characters. I liked the concept, but not the execution. Especially the ending was rushed and lacked depth as the heroine just went from doing one thing to the next with acceptance and without showing any kind of emotion.
First of all - RAPE IS NOT ROMANTIC! There are billions of women (and men) out there that will tell you that rape is not sexy or romantic or thrilling. It's disgusting and life-ruining. The fact that the main character is raped - again, RAPED - and falls in love with her rapist is not good story-telling.
That said, let's get onto the plot. Elodie is a virgin wolf shifter who can't shift. She is captured by the three rulers of an island nation and then raped and falls in love with them all.
The writing style is amateurish and poorly executed. The characters are one dimensional and come across as uninteresting and annoying. There is no backworld, no showing and only telling. It lacks depth and flavour. I found a few spelling mistakes but not too bad. The ending was poorly written. I bet the author wrote this book in a weekend and published it the following week. It's clearly not been edited. How this author claims to be a USA Today Bestselling Author is beyond me - probably only managed it in a boxset with three dozen other authors.
The only decent thing about the book is the cover.
OH! Such a fantastic book! I was a little bit worried for the first couple of chapters. The alphas are very cruel to Elodie and she just takes it.. she has been a slave her whole life so I kind of understand that she doesn't know any better. Once Elodie is with the alphas and their pack it gets a lot better. I enjoyed seeing Elodie come out of her shell and kind of grow into who she is suppose to be. Who she should have always been, if she hadn't been treated so poorly by her old pack. Now that's not to say that the alphas didn't have their moments, because they did. Especially when a certain someone shows up. But I still loved them! They were "sweet" in their own ways.
That ending! I am so excited for the next book. I need to know what happens next!
I'm so not down for the characters having sex with people they are scared of. Like, she is totally forced to have sex with him and he's a love interest. It just doesn't sit right. And how she reacts to things wasn't working for me.
I really enjoyed this book. It started out a little slow and I had to try and keep track of the Alpha Brothers names lol but after I got them straight I enjoyed the story. Elodie was always something special even if she didnt believe it herself. She has a quick tongue and I enjoyed the little jabs she throws at them. The brothers tell a very sad upbringing and I hope that in the next book we learn a little bit more about what truly happened. When I first met Mary I was thinking that she was hiding something but maybe she was just a blessing for the boys growing up. I wish I had someone who could take care of me with a bath and breakfast every morning lol. Have already downloaded the next book on my kindle to find out what happens!
I really enjoyed this read with a couple of points that divides apart from most pack novels. Elodie is a good character which makes her a strong female who continuesvto gather her strengths together making the end of the tale one with a good twist.
It was a good story but the typos & inconsistencies were distracting. I also felt that some of the major scenes were rushed over & more time was spent on Elodies thoughts and feelings. I loved the three main Alphas although I wasn’t too keen on how River came into the mix. But hey, that’s just my personal opinion!
2.75 stars The book seemed like it would be better than it was. Not that I thought it was bad... just not as good as I wanted it to be. Dialogue feels a bit stilted. The story feels rushed at the ending. Her reactions feel melodramatic...almost forced.
---Sorry gonna start ranting here --- At the beginning we find that she is a "No Claim" and what that means in this story. I find it odd, not that she suffered but that she seemed to be alone in servitude. It sounds like she was the only slave there. So basically she is treated like Cinderella, cooking, cleaning and serving everyone. She is also beaten or tortured on a regular basis, ate only leftover scraps of the many meals she cooked for the pack. The only blessing she had was that she was not raped...but was told that was to be pending; sooner than later and that it would probably be at a "special pack gathering occasion". The day after her eighteenth birthday she is tasked with cooking and serving an elaborate dinner for very special guests. Her stupid Alpha (Bishop) invited the scary Alpha Brothers for dinner for an undisclosed reason and received a surprise outcome. The brothers declare her theirs and take her home. They make her think this is all temporary, declarimg they will never take a mate; thus will never claim her as their mate. Of course, she falls for them and they for her; but she doesn't know that because they deny it and repeatedly tell her they will never take a mate. Now comes the Alpha of the Ruxan Pack, his mate and his true Alpha daughter (her mother and half sister). Alpha Cipher offers to forge an alliance between their packs by offering their daughter as the Alpha Brothers' mate. The brothers act like they are taking this offer seriously from the moment it is offered ...which makes no sense since they'd planned on attacking them and ruling the Ruxan Pack the same was they did her old pack.
The story comes across like they knew all along who Elodie truly is and they were just trying to get the truth about it. It's supposed to explain why the Alpha angrily tells her to leave during an altercation during dinner, taking Misty' s side. She takes it like they kicked her out of their circle, not just from dinner. They effectively break Elodie's heart instead of telling her what's going on. The Alpha's excuse is that Misty is lurking everywhere eavesdropping on their conversations. Like they can't lock her out of their house at night and have a private conversation...it's not like their house is normally open to anyone to roam around...the first day Elodie arrived Mary unlocked the door to let her in. Why would they allow her to roam freely in the home? Or better yet why allow her to come into their home with her disrespectful attitude and comments... like it's a done deal and she owns them? It goes against the nature of the Alpha Brothers to let anyone disrespect them, regardless of what they are offering.
Of course Elodie reacts like any teenager with a broken heart and runs off and takes it to mean she lost everything and now must leave. Now everything at the end of this first book rushes by fast and things change quickly and really much too easily. Her stance at the end feels pure manufactured melodrama for the sake of needing a cliffhanger to sell book 2.

It was shallow and there was zero character depth to speak of. The writing was extremely immature and I honestly tried hard to like it, but it stunk... I've read her other books and really didn't expect to be so disappointed, but I had to fight to get halfway before I finally lost faith that it wasn't going to get better. To recap, plot was weak, characters shallow, and not even the intimacy was enough to save it because there was zero chemistry, everything read very forced.
DNF at 23%. It reads like high school work. A character was name dropped in narration out of nowhere without having been introduced. How does she know their name, then?
2-2.5 stars. Honestly the story wasn't all that bad I just think there really wasn't enough information and world building going on here to set up a really good base. The story actually felt like a spinoff where the world building and back story happens in the original series. The book was mainly devoted on the FMC and the three new Alphas and the smut. This would have been fine, honestly, but I couldn't understand what they saw in our FMC. She kind of came across as a door mat for most of the book which was just disappointing for me. G. Bailey usually writes her FMC's with a little more fire, so honestly, I was a little surprised by her submissiveness. I feel like the "chemistry" between the characters was a little on the forced side.. as in the FMC really has no choice in the matter forced, not like a forced connection.
After that super cliffhanger ending I have to see how this is going to play out really, but I'm not all that convinced in the instantaneous about face the FMC does from submission to dominance. It just doesn't make sense really, personalities don't just shift like that. Your either a submissive person who goes through years of heartbreak or conditioning of some sort to make you more assertive or your a dominant personality with a she dragon hid inside plotting to murder anyone who wrongs you.. you can't be one and then instantly be another. It just didn't feel right. I am going to see how the next book plays out but I'm unconvinced at the moment.
A girl who doesn't know her worth is met with alphas who want to own her. I thought the girl was a strong main heroine. She stood her ground and made sure to speak up even though she went through hell. I like the characters they really made the story.
The story line is great, but the writing style had me skipping paragraphs. I could literally see her writing improve as the book progressed, but the ending was seriously rushed. I have never read an ending THAT rushed. I really think it could have been better if she had an awesome editor...
Paranormal. Rh. 3 Alpha Shifters. Slave heroine. When Elodie's pack is talen over by the 3 Alpha Brothers, she is taken with them to be theirs to shared and used. Fast paced. Hot steamy scenes. Very Intresting story line. I feel like this could even be a standalone and it be a good ending. Recommended read.
Though there were parts in the book that I could have done without and scenes that escalated instantaneous, these little things have not deterred me from seeking to read the followup.
I love this book can’t wait till book two comes out it was one of the best books out so far that I read and I read a lot.. and I love anything she writes
DNF @ 47%. I was going to try to finish this book, just to push through it until I read the sentence: "Trust is earnt....." And I simply cannot go on. There is a lot wrong with this book, not just with the grammar. None of the characters have any depth. I used to read a lot of reviews that stated that the characters are one dimensional and I never really understood until now. The main character literally does not show any kind of emotion. She goes from being a slave to being forced into giving up her virginity to not 1 but 3 different men and doesn't bat a single eyelash. I understand that she doesn't have anywhere else to go and she's stuck in this situation, but she could have at least raged in her thoughts. I'm simply not a fan of this book. 2.5 stars
Love love love this new series! Gem out did herself with this new series. Love the storyline. So much depth and emotion. The ending .... I can not wait for the next book to come out. Totally recommend!!!!! You need to read this now!
This was...unexpected. But I liked it very much. I kind of saw some things coming but I want to learn more. I feel like G. Bailey led us to a lot of things but she hasn't given us specific answers. She might change up the entire thing in the second book! I want answers! I look forward to reading the next one!
If you are looking for a dark and steamy fantasy reverse harem the you gotta check out No Alpha by G Bailey. This is a revamp of her original book by the same title, except Bailey has made some major changes and added to it making it a whole new story. I didn't read it the first time but I'm sure glad I read this one.
Dude, this book blew kinda blew my mind. The world is dark and brutal and gives off great fantasy vibes with only four wolf packs in existence. The Luxa pack, the Xan pack, the Ruxsan pack, and the Dawn pack. Women are treated horribly in all the packs except for one, there are slaves, child abuse, brutal killings, and so much more.
The fmc Elodie Masters is a slave to her pack but while her circumstances could have turned other people's heart black as night, making them mean and bitter, with a cruel heart, it did the opposite to her. Elodie is kind, caring, respectful, thoughtful, overall good with the biggest heart. While she does change throughout this book it's for the better. She keeps those same qualities but manages to find her place in this harsh world and grow stronger.
In El's harem, there are three brothers, the alpha brothers. Alaric, Alpha (I not a fan of the name), and Letric come into El's life under dubious circumstances and there is a little hint at dubcon but turns into consent later. I didn't like the brothers at first, they are just as broken as El but they are a whole lot darker and do some pretty messed up stuff. However, they adventually grew on me, Alaric and Letric more than Alpha. Of course I could see this relationship was a dumpster fire straight from the beginning so it was no suprise that things were messed up for a while but adventually lead to a HEA, I really enjoyed the epilogue.
As for the story it was great. Bailey's version of claimed mates and wolf traditions was certainly unique. She also showed the brutal side to shifters which was made more explosive in a fantasy setting. The world building was good and the plot held a few plot twists that gave me all the drama of a fantasy book. I didn't see the twist coming and the pack drama that ensued and the brutal alliances all made for an entertaining read.
No Alpha is the first book I've read by Bailey and I will be coming back for more.
