3 Where is Bobby? ★'s

I really like the concept of this book. It's a very simple, easy to follow story about a kid looking for there dog. I like the idea behind it being bilingual too but it didn't hit its mark in my opinion. For little kids that are not bilingual, the extra sentences will just confuse them. Which is what happened when reading to my little niece. The illustrations are really cute and the bright colors really pop however we were both a little confused about the dog lady at the end of the story...? As in there was NO lady. Anyways, I love that it includes coloring pages in the back of the book, I was able to print out for her to color. Honestly, that was what she was most excited about. Overall Where is My Little Dog? is a cute fun story. I would just maybe rethink the way it's set up.

in times of stress, you will now find me aimlessly studying german on duolingo 😂 i don't think i'll remember the differences between nominative/dative/accusative/genitive forms for another 70 years or so, but hey, we all have to start somewhere!
in terms of the progress i've made over the past 50 days, i know how to say "ich habe kein Geld" (i don't have money) and "kannst du mir Geld geben?" (can you give me money?)--there's quite an obvious trend here 🤣
took off a star because the illustrations might confuse younger kids reading this (and by "younger kids," i mean i myself was confused for a moment or two hahaha).

Lovely story for children.
The story takes us around a boy’s search for his dog as the boy looks around the usual places of where the dog would be.
Lovely illustrations and cute story. Enjoyed it.

This is really quick read - less than two minutes for me. The story and cartoony pictures are nice and encouraging but they lack depth. You may be fine with that for a two year old child, but not for a six year old.
The narrator asks if we have seen their dog and we are shown a few places where the dog might be; with a parrot or on a farm. The adult reading with a small child can point out more in these pictures and say the words cow, hen etc. and kids will learn the word carousel but not kennel, this being called a doghouse. The last page shows a 'dog lady' which should be 'lady dog' to make sense. The reader however is passive - they get no chance to look for the dog, being told he is not in the pictures, which he isn't, just on the opposite page with the words, until they are told here he is. Maybe we should have seen him from the back - "is this my dog?" and then found him. No skill, no suspense. For this reason the tale feels a little flat and won't suit older kids. If your two year old likes pets, this book should help them get started reading.

Dog and Cat Bilingual Love
This author has a series of bilingual children's books that ask the question, “Where Is My Little ______.” This particular version features an absolutely sweet dog, and the text is written in both English and Chinese. Unlike some other books in the series, this one feels interactive, with the author asking the child several times on different 2-page spreads if she or he sees the dog. I liked that the dog was so friendly, even with other animals dogs are not particularly known to be friendly with, like cats! As each “where is the little dog” scenario is shown and questioned, the lower right-hand corner depicts what the dog might have been doing if he had been there. The book ends with coloring pages, a few select darling images from earlier in the book. The book does have a mistake at the end. There is quite a difference in meaning between “dog lady” and “lady dog”! This would be a fun book for any child who is learning Chinese or is a part of a bilingual family.

The concept is cute but not well executed. The text in Japanese is written in Japanese characters, so there is no way a child learning Japanese would be able to read it without first knowing the Japanese alphabets.
There is a picture of a scene on every left-hand page, with text on the right-hand side asking if Bobby is there. He’s not featured the scenes, but on each and every page, he is under the text. It is confusing for a child when they can see him while the words have you read, “Is Bobby here? No, he’s not!”
Also there are some mistakes in English. The biggest being at the end when we find Bobby with a “dog lady.” It should have been “lady dog” although that’s still a strange thing to call a female dog.
However, my 2-year-old son LOVES this book. And especially the “lady dog” (as we decided to call her instead of “dog lady”). So that’s why it gets three stars instead of one.

Helping Me Learn
I‘ve been using Duolingo to learn German for the past year and it‘s helped me a great deal, but to read their stories and then to read a children‘s book has me in two different worlds, which is why I wanted to read this book and others by Ingo Blum.
The books are very basic, childish, which is exactly what I was looking for. My only wish is that the English translation wasn‘t directly above the German sentence, but either underneath or at the bottom of the page,. I like to try and guess what I‘m reading before I see what it actually means. German is already complicated in the placing of their verbs and such, so to be able to figure it out on my own, without the translation directly in my face would be perfect.
But I‘m going to get more by Ingo. It‘s helps me so much.

This short, illustrated picture book features a narrator who is searching for his dog, Bobby. He displays common objects to the reader indicating that Bobby is not hiding in any of these places. Bright, good artwork but A bit confusing😕
This picture book has good, activity-filled illustrations and simple text. In the search for our little dog, there were some dogs that looked like but apparently were not him, according to the continuing search. It would have been helpful if the missing dog was more unique-looking.

This children's book had a lovely little story that takes you on a journey to find the little lost dog. A lovely little story with a happy ending. Nicely paced with beautiful and engaging illustrations that will spark your young one's imagination. Would highly recommend to anyone interested in trying this book.

Bobby the little pet dog has lots of places to go and lots of animal friends with whom to interact, but as we will discover in the course of the story, Bobby is not really lost after all. Gentle repetition and cute illustrations will entice young readers and those younger still who are read to, and they all will rejoice when Bobby is discovered, happy with a friend.

Cute and straight to the point
This is a cute and very short story. It left me wanting more only because it was straight to the point, "is my dog here?"; "No, no he's not", until the last page. IMO, the author could've done more with the story to make it more enjoyable and 'friendly'. My lil one wasn't impressed.

Cute Book for my Grandsons
I selected this book for 2 reasons: the first reason is my grandsons love books, and the oldest can read. The second reason is the dog's name is the same as my late husband's name, whom my grandsons will never get to know. I enjoyed the quick read and the search for the dog. My grandsons will enjoy that part, the search for the dog.

The illustrations are fun and bright. The story was okay. I think this may be better for one to four year olds though. I think a six year old would be a bit too advanced for this book. It could be a cute story time if the kids could act out looking for the dog and maybe have a stuffed dog at the last place, a hide and seek of sorts.

A cute little story, but I found that it was very confusing to show the dog on the pages where the story was saying he wasn't there. I read it to our four year old grandson and he seemed to be confused also, as he would say "There he is" and then the words would say that he is not there.

Format made this book unreadable
I do not recommend this book until they fix the formatting issues for the kindle. The book only displayed the top third of the pages.

“It was great!”
My 5 yo loved it, and she can read most of it by herself. Illustrations are cute. Delightful story. Recommended for kindy kids and younger.
