The problem with apocalypses, is you wait ten thousand years for one, then two come along at once...
When a satanic cultist infiltrates the Sanctum, restoring one of the Order's ancient enemies to life, Brian is called in to save the day. Again. The problem is, he's pretty damned hungover. Again.
But with the demon Hell-bent (aha!) on summoning the rest of his infernal compadres to Earth, and the cultist having stolen one of the Artefacts necessary for halting Cthulu's awakening, Brian has no choice but to traipse halfway around the planet to sunny Down Under.
But how do you kill a huge, immortal demon, when it's camped out miles away from the nearest Ley Lines?
Easy: take one super-fandago magic sword (with vague properties including but not exclusively slicing things to itty bitty bits), one overweight vampire who can't fly, an Aboriginal Medicine Man with a farm of Definitely Only Sheep, and add one well-thought-out plan.
Ah. Knew we forgot something.
Join Brian as he beats up Bogans (whatever they are), takes a Walkabout through the Dreamtime (whatever that is) and stops by the Servo to buy some Tinnies whilst he watches the Rugger that Arvo... Really, Aussies? In what way, shape or form is that English?
All this and more awaits you in Mission #9: The Rehearsal For Mission Ten.

When not writing, he can be found careening around on his motorcycle or sitting in the garden with a pipe and a nice pint of real ale, depending on his mood.
Gaz's fantasy and horror books are inspired by his favourite authors; namely Masterton, Herbert, Brooks, Pratchett, Gemmell, amongst others.
This time Brian is 'down under' to stop a demon taking over the world. As usual nothing quite goes to plan but with the help of some old friends, some new friends, and a historical weapon Brian does what Brian does.
As with the previous Brian books this book is such a great read which keeps you hooked till the very end.
As with the other books there is so many great clips in this book which being English myself ring so true such as this spoiler free insight as Brian stepped off a plane down under. “ Sunlight, to a Brit, was a mysterious and ethereal force; to a man used to a country so persistently grey and drizzly, it had almost an empowering effect, lifting the spirits and filling one with energy, almost as though every Brit were secretly Kryptonian at heart.”
Such an amazing series I am really hoping you will continue this for a long time yet. ( assuming the infamous Cthulhu does not have his wicked way with the universe )
Also Nigel in this book brings back great memories of the Kevin Bloody Wilson classic.
I just finished catching up, read all the books out so far in 5 days. Love the series! Can't wait for the next one, hurry it up! I I have given all the series 5 stars, and I say they are well deserved. I can't remember a series being more entertaining than this one. Mr. Pengelly, you have a new favorite fan.
Brilliant. Brian is finally beginning to realise just what his powers are capable of. He is the Helsing, thoroughly enjoying the series, so thank you Mr Pengelly, I will never look at St Michaels Mount in the same way again. Perhaps one day Brian will get to the Mount St Michel and see what is under there, also a fascinating place and covers Ley lines!
In this book Brian Helsing meets Asmodeus a devil intent on destroying the Earth as we know it. He is reincarnated by a cultist at the Helsing headquarters by someone posing as a worker. Asmodeus goes to Australia where the only ley lines are at Ayers Rock (otherwise known as Uluru). The difficulty lies in getting Asmodeus to that area that is the only place where he can be destroyed. Another good read!
I love this series. I have enjoyed every step of Brian's journey toward becoming the hero he is meant to be. I am worried the next book will be the last. Still i cannot recommend this series enough!
Every book is better than the last. This one was funny as hell. Brian finds himself trying to vanquish a Baron of Hell. He has a plan, but it goes down the drain and he goes to Plan B. If course, Brian thrives with a Plan B.
