Chasing the Sun
Georgia Green is on the conveyor belt to happiness. Live-in boyfriend, perfect career and great friends, it seems like Georgia is only a Tiffany box away from her happily ever after. Chasing the Sun is fantastic!
It has really got me in the mood for summer.
It is so nice to catch up and find out whats been happening with Georgia. In this latest book we go on an adventure with her to Australia for her best friends wedding. Sounds like the perfect holiday for her but it changes her life completely amd big changes happen for her.
This book has got everything a summer holiday, hen night, wedding, best friends, fallouts, proposals, pregnancies the lot.
Get the cocktails ready and get reading Chasing the Sun it is sure to spice up your sunmer.

Easily one of the most enjoyable books I have read for a while, it whizzed past as I was absorbed in the latest installment in Georgia's story.
For although the name of the book doesn't feel the same, this is sort of the next in the Destination series that I was reading last year, but since the focus of the book is more to do with Georgia's friends and boyfriend than with the Lonely Hearts Travel Club, the book feels different, but still up to the usual quality. If you haven't read any of Katy Colin's previous books don't worry as this should work as a standalone, and most of the relevant snippets of back story are included.
I don;t think I have stopped smiling from the second I finally started this book to the moment it ended. I was thoroughly enjoying Georgia's trip to Australia, her bridezilla of a best friend Shelley, the other bridesmaid Cara, the hen party road trip that has an ulterior motive and just everything little unexpected occurrence, or problem that needed to be solved.
Even before Georgia flew Down Under there were laughs to be had, at her attempts to babysit for another of her best friends, and a rather familiar-ish scene on the plane, where you realise just who is sitting around you on a massively long haul flight.
Although there wasn't too much sightseeing, I did like the small glimpses I got of Australia, and lets just say Adelaide has some absolutely mad brides to be, who really did get over excited at one little sale....well it was a sample wedding dress sale, but still camping overnight for a shop? As a glorified single person who has never been within sniffing distance of her own wedding dress, please forgive my amusement at the situations!
Chasing The Sun is another excellent book by the talented Katy Colins and I adored this slight shift in direction for the book. I loved catching up with these fabulous characters and of course exploring a new destination with Georgia. This is a fabulous summer read that I am sure people will love reading while relaxing in the sun themselves.

Oh this was the prefect funny, romantic, summer read. I picked this up because I wanted something that would be a little escapist and would make me laugh and that was exactly what I got. I just loved the storyline of this novel. It had everything you could want. A little travel, a little drama, a little relationship trouble, and a lot of growing up. It was all balanced perfectly. There were interesting sub plots and just a lot of fun times. It was fast-paced and so I read it all in one day. It left me feeling warm inside and happy that not everyone has their lives together the way you think they do.
Now I haven't read Katy Colins's other novels but I got into this one straight away and so I guess you don't have to have read the others in order to pick this one up. I do know that I have been spoiled for the others so let that be a warning to you! I loved getting to know Georgia. She is a character who i can easily identify with, she could be one of my own friendship group. She is great at looking like she has got it under control when really she's knackered and its all a bit much and I am sure there are plenty of us out there who can totally relate to that when it comes to juggling work, family, friendships and relationships. Her own friendships are also very easy to recognise as the friendships I have and issues I have.
I loved the other characters in the novel as well. All of them are completely plausible and all of them felt very real. I enjoyed learning about who they are and reading their storylines though Georgia. Some of the other characters made for the funniest moments in the novel and I just loved the way they all fitted into the storyline. There were some seriously hilarious moments in this novel but I think I liked the fact that this all could have happened to me. I enjoyed the travel, I enjoyed the adventure and I enjoyed the friendships and relationships that were explored in this novel. This was a great read and definitely something to add to your suitcase or over sized handbag this summer!

The perfect beach read, if only it had not been grey, cold and rainy here. But hey, then the book is a perfect rainy day curled up with a book and warm cup of tea kind of book.
Gerogia has a great boyfriend, a fun job and her own company. Life is good. And yes later I saw that she has had adventures in earlier books and met her boyfriend there. But this works absolutely perfect as a stand alone and is meant to work like that.
This time her journey takes her to Australia. A wild hen night before her friend's wedding. Watching her friend become bridezilla. Seeing what Australia has to offer and yes a few surprises too. All in all an enjoyable ride.
Georgia was fun to read about and it did make me curious about those other books, where she finds herself, finds her man and I guess starts her company?
The book is light, fun and easy to breeze through. Perfect for...duh, the beach :D Though I must say, the cover is not so fitting cos they never chill at the beach.

Novel set in Australia (Operation Wedding Dress)
Georgia Green is once again on her travels, this time to be part of a hen party for her friend Michelle, with whom she bonded in Thailand. As she flies into Melbourne, having grappled with the vagaries of flying with a fat, fartsome neighbour, she bounds off her aircraft to be met by Michelle and her model cousin Cara.
They pick up a battered four wheel drive and head out onto the Great Ocean Road, with Adelaide in their sights. A little partying along the way, some hen festivities, what’s not to like? Of course, things don’t go to plan, but they do get time to marvel at some of the things along the way (although they haven’t picked an auspicious time of year as it’s cold). They stop to admire the 12 Apostles, stone structures emerging from the sea (actually counting only 8 because there was a collapse in 2003). Also worth a stop proved to be one of the Big Things, a set of big sculptures dotted around the country. They then move on to the Grampians, get pounced upon by a larger than life fellow traveller and have an evening out in a teen bar. All in the company of bridezilla who is on the verge of a meltdown.
“Out from the cover of trees that rolled to the horizon like billowing sheets on a washing line, the sky was as piercing as denim blue jeans. Leaves the colours of an autumnal rainbow dances around us. Smells of perfumed plants floated up to greet us, and the faint cry of a kookaburra singing from the top of a nearby eucalyptus tree was just about audible”.
And so it continues, until they head back to Sydney, just in time for the wedding. They even go to great lengths to source potential wedding dress on their travels.
Of course it is not plain sailing, it never is in the run up to a wedding, is it? Does everything come together? To find out you will have to buy the book!

Katy Collins’ Chasing the Sun is ideal for anyone who wants a short sweet read that takes them places, and is yet finished within an afternoon. It isn’t the best romance novel out there, but it is realistic, unique, and very cute.
Things I didn’t like:
• Some parts are pretty melodramatic
• There are parts in the book which are kind of dragging and not very relatable.
• Speaking of which, the protagonist, Georgia Green was not the most relatable character. This is mostly because of her age, her disposition, and her rambling thoughts (which you have to read because the story is in first person narrative).
• It read like a travelogue sometimes, and that wasn’t really my thing.
Things I liked:
• The present-day lingo. I read a lot of contemporary novels, but usually people conveniently forget to mention the extreme usage of technology. I love how everything is so NORMAL here, the number of texts and calls, Facetiming, discussing about Instagram hashtags, etc.
• The main romantic relationship is very realistic and healthy.
• The drama. Oh c’mon we all like a little drama. And when there is a wedding in the story, there is ALWAYS drama.
• The beautiful Australian backdrop. While I don’t enjoy travelogue-style writings, I do enjoy a pretty and unique (relatively?) setting.
• It was really short, the book didn’t feel like a chore, and it’ll put a smile on your face.
Overall:
This book is perfect if you like chick-lit novels with a little soul-searching and self-discovery mixed with romance and drama. Perhaps it isn’t the deepest story which will stay with yoy for years, but hey, we all love a light read sometimes!

August 31, 2017Love Georgia and although this book was the fourth part in her story it could definitely be read as a stand-alone novel. Loved the angst and drama of her friends and the focus on weddings and AUSTRALIA. It made me want to head straight out there. A great read.

Es ist meine zweite Geschichte aus der Reihe des Lonely Hearts Travel Club, die ich nun gelesen habe und ich fand auch diese wieder recht nett, obwohl ich sagen muss, dass mich diese hier nicht so ganz überzeugen konnte.
Georgia ist mittlerweile glücklich verliebt und hat sehr viel zu tun mit ihrer Reiseagentur. So muss sie in diesem Buch nach Australien, denn ihre Freundin heiratet und sie soll diese unterstützen.
Persönlich hat mir das Buch relativ gut gefallen, denn es war witzig und amüsant, allerdings fand ich es für mich jetzt sehr schade, dass Australien einfach zu schnell durchgearbeitet wurde und das Hauptaugenmerk der Autorin auf der Vorbereitung der Hochzeit liegt, was ja auch okay wäre, aber auch diese Themen wurden sehr schnell durchgemacht. Beispiel Brautkleid. Da gehen Georgia und ihre Freundinnen auf eine Art Schlussverkauf und es da zwar ein paar witzige Momente, aber dann hat sie ihr Brautkleid. Fand ich persönlich sehr schade.
Die Emotionen kommen aber auch in dieser Geschichte nicht zu kurz und so war stellenweise doch amüsant und ich habe mmich wunderbar amüsiert. Auch die Gefühlswelt von Georiga kommt durcheinander, denn die Autorin hat hier ein paar Überraschungen für den Leser parat.
Das Setting hätte mich noch mehr interessiert und ich hätte mir auch mehr Details gewünscht. So hätte man die Geschichte überall platzieren können.
Die Charaktere waren recht gut gezeichnet. Gerade Georgia fand ich wirklich reizend und sie war mir auf der Stelle sehr sympathisch. Ich konnte aber auch die Handlungen ihrer Freundinnen sehr gut nachvollziehen, sodass ich von den Protagonisten im Buch recht begeistert war.
Der Schreibstil war wieder sehr locker und flüssig, was ich für einen Liebesroman sehr passend fand. Die Handlung hat mich begeistert und ich habe mich trotz einiger Schwächen wunderbar unterhalten gefühlt. Die Geschichte war sehr gut verständlich und man konnte dieser wirklich gut folgen.
Das Cover finde ich gut und passt zu den anderen Büchern der Reihe.

Katy Colins wurde vorm Altar stehengelassen und hat sich daraufhin entschlossen, ihr Leben zu ändern. Sie hat ihr Haus verkauft, ihren Job gekündigt und ist um die Welt gereist. Von ihren Erlebnissen erzählt sie auf ihrem Blog notwedordead.com, der eine sehr große Leserschaft gefunden hat. Georgia Green ist ihr Alter Ego.

I absolutely loved this book! I have found it difficult to find a book this year that I have really truly enjoyed, that has given me the escapism that I need. Katy Colins is quickly becoming one of my 'go to' authors for light relief and her books have a firm place on my shelf to be read time and time again.
This is the second book I have read by Katy Colins, although I haven't read them in order it has made no difference to my enjoyment of the book. From reading Destination Thailand I knew Georgia and it was nice to be back with her for this book.
Georgia has stopped her regular backpacking and is working in the travel industry in the U.K with her boyfriend Ben. Georgia is heading over to Australia for her friends wedding, thinking everything is going to plan she is in for a shock along the way, starting with the hen do!
This is a laugh out loud read, it was nice to really get into Georgia's world and I enjoyed every moment of it. One of my favourite parts has to be on the plane over to Oz, I felt I was with Georgia and willing things to get better for her. I still have a smile on my face as I read this as it was very amusing. I raced through this and now can't wait to go back and read Destination India followed by Chile.
This is the perfect holiday read for the summer, it will leave you wanting more and you won't want to put it down. Katy Colins is a very talented author who really draws you in and makes you want to stay in her world forever, I really do hope she has her next book up her sleeve as I can't wait to get my hands on it.

Gorgia gehört ein Reiseunternehmen, die Reisen für Singles planen. Nun heiratet ihre beste Freundin und sie muss nach Australien reisen. Sie selber macht einen Bogen ums Heiraten, da ihr Ex sie hat sitzen lassen. In Australien muss sie sich um die Braut, Jungesellinnenabschied und viele Kleinigkeiten kümmern. Abgesehen vom Stress ihrer Arbeit macht sie nebenbei noch einen Roadtrip mit ihren Freundinnen bei dem auch nicht alles glatt läuft. Doch nicht alles läuft so wie geplant, nicht nur für die Braut sondern auch für Georgia...
Als ich das Buch bekommen hab, hab ich mich riesig gefreut. Ich hab mir einen Roadtrip durch Australien mit Koalas, Kängurus und Sehenswürdigkeit erwartet. Dies hat mir auch gut gefallen und die Autorin hat geschickt Stellen aus den vorherigen Büchern einfließen lassen, sodass man auch davon ein Idee bekam. Insgesamt fand ich, dass das Buch ein schöner Sommerroman mit Happy End war, das ich gerne gelesen habe.

What a hot, hot, hot romance! I loved travelling once upon a time ( well I still do with two little ones in a tow). And I also lived in sunny Australia for a very long time, so I could not wait to stuck my nose into the next reading treat for Katy Colins, and I was so utterly taken by this sunny romance!
Katy created a fabulous leading character in Georgia who has all the qualities of a girl next door thrust upon all dilemmas served up by life/ friends and loved ones. This book started out a little slow for me & I found it hard to get into, although once it progressed it caught my attention.
This book follows the main character Georgia who travels to Australia from the UK to be apart of her best friends wedding who turns out to be one hell of a bridezilla. They road trip around some classic sites of Australia and discover some secrets and some surprises.
The book ends with some great feel good moments and goes to show that weddings don’t need to be some big fancy show, it is about two people who love each other and that is all that should matter.
And sometimes the best things happen when you least expect it ❤️

I struggled to get in to the book, I'm not sure if this is because I have not previously read any of the books that Georgia is in. Once I got to Australia in the book it was different, the story got interesting and fast pace. E very one seemed to be hiding a secret be it monetary, baby related or marriage! The story is a great summer read and definitely makes you want to visit Australia and sit in the sun with a cocktail. Having read this one I do want to go back and read the other stories that came before it!

We are back with Georgia, yay!!! I have been waiting to catch up with Georgia and Ben, so when I started this book I was really excited.
This time we follow Georgia to Australia, where her best friend is getting married. We first get to read about their hen party road trip, which is full of fun and adventures. Visiting Australia through Georgia’s eyes is fascinating, entertaining and very interesting. Georgia and weddings doesn’t really fit, but she wants to be there for her best friend. Shelley is a real bridezilla though and the other bridesmaid Cara adds a lot of drama as well. I really enjoyed following these three women though.
Another little (or big thing) is added to the story and it questions everything Georgia wants: job, love, family, friendship etc. I really loved this fact and also the whole outcome of it. Ben and Georgia are a fab couple and I loved their scenes so much.
Katy Colins created a real gem of a book here, it’s the perfect summer read, it’s full of sunshine, passion, love and very special moments. I really want to visit Australia now!

It's a heart-warming, feelgood read, made even more so when you learn that the author, Katy Collins, also known as travel blogger @notwedordead, is almost a carbon copy of her once-jilted heroine.
It was perfect as a summertime poolside read but would also be ideal when you want something to dip into to escape the grey drizzle of autumn and winter.

Chasing the Sun is a sweet little chick lit story. its the forth book the author has written carrying on the story of Georgia and her travels. I suspect the story is based on her own life with a bit of poetic license. A good holiday read for the younger audience.

It’s books like this one that make me wish Sophie Kinsella, Paige Toon, Lindsey Kelk and other rom-com Writers from the British isles stop writing. Zany characters aren’t funny. They are spastic. Stop! Mr Bean is not funny. Stop!

I went into this thinking it was romance, but actually it is women's fiction with a sprinkle of romance at the very end. If you like chaotic wedding weeks, bridezillas, road trips, bridesmaid drama, and potential pregnancy scares, this book is for you. But it is not a romance book.

I picked this book up as a fan of Katy Colins and thinking that this book was a stand-alone. It is actually number four in ‘The Lonely Hearts Travel Club’ series, none of which I have read but think I would have enjoyed this more if I had done.
Despite this it was still a fun read, perfect for the summer. I did feel like there was a lot of the back story missing from not having read the previous books, like the relationships and connections between the characters however this didn’t stop me from enjoying the book, I loved the story and seeing how Georgia’s story ended, it did take a little while to get into the story.
Set in Australia it had a great backdrop to the story. I would definitely go back and read the first books to see how Georgia’s story started.
