One of the most interesting books I've read in my entire grad school program!! Especially loved the first two chapters introduction to neurobiology and am so happy to really understand synaptic transmission now. I feel like this will be so helpful when working with clients who are also receiving pharmacological treatment.
I found this resource to be helpful in introducing psychopharmacology and allowing me to familiarize myself with some of the medications that I see in practice. I did however find some of the case examples to be a little over the top and there is language in there that is relatively dated.
For all counselors, this is essential information to keep current. Not a page-turner, but it covers more than just drugs. It gives the latest information on the neurotransmitter findings. And it does an excellent job of laying out information so it can be found quickly.
Considering this subject could get rather heavy, Sinacola does an excellent job making psychopharmacology comprehensive. Highly recommended read if interested in the topic.
