Rum Runner: True Story of Joseph Bey Jr.
This is the Biography of Joseph Bey Jr who while exercising his entrepreneurial spirit lived a life beyond what most people can only dream of. From my days in the crib I was always looking and reaching out to do something big. At the age of 15 months living in The Boston Cathedral Projects I would end up being taken back home by the police, who would tell my mom that they found me walking and when asked where I was going I would say I’m going to school!” I love to learn, so much so that as a child you could not just tell me something because if I didn’t believe you I would investigate for myself. On one occasion I was found behind the television set with a screw driver taking it apart to see if there were actually little people in there.
When I was old enough to go to school I attended The Cathedral of the Holy Cross in Boston. Because I wasn’t the type of kid to just go with the flow, I would get in trouble for nothing more than asking what would seem to be simple and justified questions. It didn’t help that I had watched the Movie “Ten Commandments” with Charlton Heston. They would teach us about the “Holy Trinity” The father, Son and Holy Ghost. When going to confession, the priest would tell us to “say Hail Marys’ and Our Fathers” for forgiveness of our sins. I would question “if the Father is God, the Son Jesus, and the Holy Ghost where does Hailing Mary or Our Father come in?”; “if we are not supposed to worship false idols, and Jesus rose again from the dead, why do we pray to a statue of a dead Jesus on the Cross?”; “if no one sits on the throne but God the Father, why does the pope sit on a throne and people worship him?” The nuns would place me in the corner after hitting my knuckles with that pointing stick, and tell my parents that I was being a trouble maker.
In line with me wanting to learn as much as I could, I knew that the United States wealth was built on “The Free Enterprise System” That I wanted my own business, so that I could take care of my family and go anywhere and do whatever I wanted when I wanted. I know the first part of failure is not doing anything at all to reach a goal, especially the huge goals I set for myself. You learn that you have to take chances to succeed. Well I took chances, and with that ended being labeled “the mastermind of a high tech drug smuggling operation.” I had a great run, arrested in 1996 was and convicted for importation and conspiracy to import 100% pure liquid cocaine that was totally undetectable by the dogs or x-rays. The Federal government was grasping at straws in trying to create a case that I took to trial. I was convicted on lies and manipulated testimony, and the government placed their lies on Google. Frustrated and still trying to correct the lies while serving time in what I call “The University” an old friend George "Boston George" Jung, said that I have a great story to tell and now was my chance to tell what really happened without hurting anyone because I could change the names and the criminal statute of limitations had tolled, so I wrote "Rum Runner.” This first book leads into my second book that I was actually working on at the time entitled "In House Counsel." Fasten your seat belt and stay tuned for a great ride as I clean up the lies told on me in a manner that only I can do as I know the truth.

Captivating. It gave me knowledge on certain topics and I enjoyed some of the humorous events. Very interesting read.
