Hard review

I read all four books and think they were well written. My issue with the story is its hard to believe. I understand its fiction and doesn't need to make sense but it detracted from the story. Ex: the group goes into the woods, apparently not far and everyone can find them but the bad people. The entire story the group keeps going into the town to look for food but can't seem to understand the places have been raided. These people have no direction except to walk here and then back. Characters keep popping in and out of the groups camp ment but where do they go after? Then this 18 year old knows all and is the leader. To complete the ridiculousness its always the same people who get injured but keep on going.
I did enjoy the Bible parts but the visions get old. To conclude I gave the books a good rating because of the Bible, praying and trusting in God but the other parts of the story where way beyond fantasy. If u like a story that goes nowhere this would be enjoyable

Overall: Good read with a fast-paced storyline. Growing up with the Left Behinds: The Kids series, I'm very biased towards long series that have substantial character development and follow through to the end of the big picture (which in that case was Jesus' second coming). This series is more like a glimpse into the beginning of the End, which was neat, but not quite what I was hoping for.
Likes: Thought-provoking, End Times fiction, ties up loose ends well. A character comes to salvation and that part made me tear up a TON.
Dislikes: Not a ton of character depth since there are so many characters, and some of the conversations can feel a little cheesy. I liked the intensity of Left Behind: The Kids and wished there was a greater intensity in this series, rather than the (forgive my flippancy) typical animal attacks, murders, and natural disaster-induced issues.
Recommend? I would. Warning that it may cause distress for those who find End Times to be an anxiety-inducing topic.

Darkness

This KU library selection is the conclusion of the Band of Believers series which takes place in a forest in Montana. The government is arresting Christians and forcing ID chip implants, which has forced this small group of believers into the forest near the small, rural town of Ponderosa. Led by an eighteen year old girl with prophetic dreams and an angel ally, the group experiences the tribulation up close as they navigate the harsh mountainous terrain and climate. The ending came too soon for me, though it did wrap up the loose ends from the overarching storyline. I will be exploring more by this author.

Great series!

I truly enjoyed this series. It's absolutely well worth reading, and does hold your interest.
I still have a theological concern, this one different than the last one.
Jacob being one of the 144,000 sealed Jews....in the book of Revelation, the 144,000 sealed Jews were virgins, who had not "defiled themselves with women." Jacob, in this story lived with Heidi, so could not be qualified as a sealed Jew of the 144,000.
But, even so, the series is fantastic and will keep you anticipating the next page- from beginning to end.

P.S., I love fiction woven with Biblical truth, but it has to be Biblically sound, as well.

Excellent read

This is a well written book that is hard to set down. The characters are well thought out, with believable villains and unexpected heroes. The female heroins are realistic, unlike this modern cultures lead female roles where the women are unrealistically physically superior to the men in the storyline. The storyline is based upon what the Bible says about future events. We may not all agree on the interpretation of these events but it's real good to read about these things that we believe will happen. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves prophesy, and loves a good adventure.

Great conclusion to this four book series. Good read.

I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it to believers who enjoy good clean reading for pleasure when they have time. I will say that it is a work of fiction. When times like these truly unfold it probably will not take place like this it may be similar but probably not just like this. This was a great conclusion to the series and I did enjoy reading it. The author has a great imagination. I would recommend the series as it is a good read with a great storyline.

Oh My Gosh! GREAT SERIES AND PROPER FINISH!

This was a different kind of "end of times" story and I loved from the first book through to the 4th-the last in the series...so far. 😉 I have faith in the author. This book is appropriate for all ages and would be perfect read as a family book. Everything from surviving under the worst circumstances to showing how strong faith can make the difference to a wonderful dog hero. All I'm going to add is that you really want these books in your library! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! :D

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! :D

I really loved this series of books. The author keeps me wanting to read more! It is thought provoking, and also encouraging even through the trials they face, as we read how the characters continue to turn to God and Jesus to get through their daily lives. Much like we need to do in our daily lives. I finished the last one last night and wish there was another book in the series! These were the first books I read by Jamie Lee Grey and I'm going to check out her other books today!

Band of Believers series

I really enjoyed reading this series, it kept you interested without a constant gun battles happening. I really like that their faith held the group together. I like the fact the women were strong and they knew what they were capable of doing and not trying to out performing the men. I hope Jamie Lee Grey continues with this series, I would like see what happens next.

I finished this series in 3 weeks, I read all 4 books and they are fantastic. I would HIGHLY recommend! I think the first 2 books were so impactful and I could not put them down. The story-line for Book #3 and Book #4 seemed a bit more chaotic but it was an amazing series. I'd recommend it to my friends and family. It was a little sad for the series to end but it was a great read.

Jamie Lee Grey

I've read both of this author's series. She is a good writer. I had read the Band of Believers series 2 years ago and all four books are so good I enjoyed reading them again. All of Ms Grey's books are exciting to read and encouraging. They build faith and trust in God. I feel like they could be telling the real story of the end times.

Nice Ending

Band of Believers 4: Darkness was a fitting end to the series. There were a few things I had issues with me being a Mennonite Christian and turning the other cheek. I'm glad that some issues were worked out but there were some that things I felt were cliff hangers unless I missed something.
Except for the gun fights I enjoyed this book.

great series

This is the last book in the Band of Believers series. While some would say that it’s cheesy end times writing, I think the story of Willow and Raven together with their rag tag group of followers is a great reminder of what the world may look like someday. Well worth reading. I love the scriptures and the reminders that God is always there.

Great books. It is a work of fiction on what could happen. Unfortunately, not everyone lives near mountains that they could run to in order to hide out if it comes to that. And neither series by this author mentions the Rapture which I still question. I wasn't brought up to believe in it but people in the church I go to now all do. Wondering what this author's thoughts are.

Fitting end to a great series!

This may be my favorite from Jamie Lee Gray and I have read a lot from this author. This book had suspense, action, relatable characters, and biblical accuracy. It flowed and paced well. It made cry, laugh and Couldn't put it down. Bravo for the Band of Believers!

The End

This was a wonderful God filled book/series. I'm going to miss reading about the band of believers. Darkness was a great ending to the series. It was a rollercoaster ride much like life in general but they had faith God would get them through the hardships.

Engaging and Entertaining

I truly enjoyed this series. Very well written, enough characters to keep it very interesting but not too many to complicate things. This was a good ending to the series. Each book was engaging and entertaining! Highly recommend the whole series.

Romans 8:28 God will work it out

Through difficulties and tribulations the Band of Believers find over and over that The Lord watches over us as “The Apple of His Eye”. Such a heartwarming Thanksgiving ending this story has.

Spellbinding. Just couldn’t quit reading. I hope to meet these characters in future writings. The underlying message is important during the times we are living. It may not be as much fiction as we would like to believe. Ive read all I can find from this author. She’s just that good!

I think the author did a good job of writing a faith based novel, but if you’re looking for a bible based end time themed novel I don’t think this is it. This is more of a survival novel with end time themes, but not as clear cut as other “revelations themed” books of this genre.
