This was pretty enjoyable volume and I love how this makes me want to get the last two volumes more. (I bought 1- 8 at a second hand book store) all in all I love this series more the I thought I would. I love the art and the plot as well.
Hermes starts asking around about Bell after returning to town considerably sooner than he normally would which makes others suspicious about his intentions. In the meantime noobish mistakes almost make a party wipe for one team on a middle level dungeon making the group retreat and accidentally run through Bell and his two party members pulling an agro parade of monsters upon them and letting the noobs escape while Welf. Lilly, and Bell deal with way too many monsters to be able to handle and they too try to escape only to collapse through the floor to a lower level and into greater danger. Now the crew must make a decision so they have their best chance to survive even with limited supplies.
In the meantime Hestia has a bad feeling and asks to create a quest to look for Bell and his party and begins collecting people that could help in the search to find Hermes not only wanting to help but wanting to break the rules and go into the dungeon himself to see what is so special about Bell and she refuses to let him to be the only divine being chancing his life in the dungeon. Be sure to read this volume to see if everyone makes it out alive and how they strive as the dungeon tries to do them in. :)
My fave moment might be when Hestia see the corpse of a Hellhound and freaks out not realizing it was no longer a threat. I hope she survives because she is a good girl. :)
This series continues to be pleasant escapism. The manga is a highly satisfying adaptation of the 'light' novel. The art is improving, as to be expected in a solid series, and to my mind currently surpasses such other current favorites as Blue Exorcist and Attack on Titan. I find the rendering of the combat scenes a delicious tease, as this volume is just a prologue to the mayhem to appear in the next (maybe next two) volumes. The continued decent of Bell Crandall into the depths of the harem genre is moving steadily, as was promised by the title right from the start. The series no longer needs such lures, but I suppose I am the last person on Earth to disparage another's sense of loyalty to an idea. [Heh!]
Bell & company are in trouble deep in the labyrinth... but Hestia has formed a rescue party! With all this firepower, can they find Bell & his friends before time runs out? Enter a place of refuge, & Aiz & her party. Looks like things will be ok? Maybe? This story is incredible! I am loving every moment of it. If you like monsters, adventure, & pretty girls, this is definitely worth reading!
This volume is in the thick of a new adventure, one without Aiz until the very end. The story is excellent and I think the art may be a little better. I only have one more volume.
Things are certainly getting interesting now, I'm not going to lie. Hermes shows up all shady like...I mean one moment he's really likeable and funny and the next he's super shady. He's definitely up to something. I want to like him but....he's so shady. Meanwhile Bell and Co find themselves in a sticky situation, trapped in the Dungeon and a panicking Hestia issues a quest.
It was nice to see the other deities helping Hestia out and trying to get Bell found. Even if some of them where doing it for ulterior motives or whatever. Hestia and Hermes team up to enter the Dungeon in search of Bell with a party of their own and I'm so ready to watch that play out fully. Like I'm genuinely so excited.
This volume allows you to really see how far Bell has come, as he fearlessly faces down a minotaur and saves his friends. He's not entirely the same Bell from volume 1 and I'm looking forward to seeing him grow and change some more.
Compared to last volume, the pace really picks up in this one as we have a lot of action and a lot of time in the dungeon. We also get some hints about Bell and his grandfather that provide an interesting mystery. Aiz once again makes an appearance but for once doesn't actually fight and save Bell, she just kind of drags him back to camp to save him. Aaaahhh progress eh?
This volume ends on a nice ominous comment, I'm actually imagining a million things that could go wrong and happen to our group! I have so many questions that I want answers to, and I'm trying to figure out, but this volume is really picking the plot up again and I'm excited for what comes next!
