Gianna has been in love with Historical Romance/Mysteries, and especially Regency Romance, for many years. But it wasn’t until 2013 that she started writing in this genre. Gianna discovered Pride and Prejudice, and its many variations, what ifs and fan fiction. She was totally fascinated by the variety of plots that eager authors had utilized. After reading several of these fascinating books, she realized why others loved them and Jane Austen’s books so well.
Gianna was aware of the storyline of Pride and Prejudice after reading it many years ago and seeing the 1940’s movie as well as the 2005 movie with Keira Knightley and Matthew MacFadyen. She loved the 2005 movie and the musical score. Yes, the movie wasn’t 100% accurate, but isn’t the goal to entertain and touch the heart? And this movie touched her heart and helped her to appreciate more the talent of Jane Austen.
Rereading Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice has given her greater insight into Ms. Austen’s genius in depicting different personalities and situations and the society of her day. As a mature adult, Gianna sees much more in her books now than ever before.
After reading nearly 200 variations and fan fictions, Gianna now had P&P plots running through her head. She finally decided that they needed to be put to paper (today, on the computer), to see how they would develop. She is having an absolute ball in writing about Darcy and Elizabeth and is pleased with how things are developing. Her goal is to entertain and touch hearts. Hopefully, with her first rendering 'Darcy Chooses', she achieved that goal and touched your heart also.
More recently, Gianna started looking beyond Pride and Prejudice, with her first foray into Regency Romance generally, with The Four Lords’ Saga Series.
Gianna Thomas is a ghostwriter of poetry and e-books who became a widow after twenty-two years with her very own Mr. Darcy, who was her second husband. She lives a quiet life in a small Illinois town with her cats and loves to read regency romance, Jane Austen’s works and the many variations done by other lovers of Pride and Prejudice.
Two attractive people of the same age, class, and wealth have crushes on each other and presumably marry. The lack of personality, plot, or tension is bad, but the writing is worse. A random example from the last page I read: "He was superb. And she felt a hunger, but not for food. She wanted to lick his beautiful chest." No thank you!
I personally found the writing to be simplistic and lacking in style imagery. The plot was predictable, like too many romances, and the advance chapters of the next novella in the series seems to follow the same general theme: guy gets involved with the girl he protected in childhood.
This is the first book I've ever read by Gianna Thomas and found it to be utterly fantastic, to the point where I stayed up fixated on having to know what happens till I had finished the book. I will also most definitely be reading the brother books in the series and many more in the future mo doubt about it.
I never give spoilers but I will say this book has it all and every emotion also its very easy to connect with the characters and adore the ones who deserve to be adored, I absolutely loved the story in every aspect and yes I did shout at my phone a few times about someone but not the dear lady who wrote the book. 😊
I most definitely defy anyone who loves regency romance to not love this book thank you Lady Gianna for writing it 💖
Overall it was a disappointing read. The writing was stilted, the elements not skillfully woven to build suspense and develop the romance. The ending was very abrupt and a lead-in to the sequel.
There were numerous inconsistencies with the regency period: - a house party attended by young ladies with no chaperoning mothers or aunts was unthinkable in that time; sending four girls alone home at night is ridiculous; - an earl would not overthink a marriage of his daughter with a duke’s heir, but rather jump at the opportunity; - young ladies of the ton always had their own maids accompanying them on visits to other estates; - why was there a ten year age gap between Jane and Robert, but then four other younger siblings?
#1 in "The Four Lords'Saga". A Regency Historical Romance Short Stories, this is Lord Windmere's story. An enjoyable look into the lives of four wealthy titled young friends, their exploits, and the premise of a HEA. A quick read, rich in details, characters and storyline. Well written. The characters are engaging, interesting and intriguing. The storyline has a rich, setting in which the reader will be drawn into the story. It is set during a house party. Unique writing style, with and intriguing premise of finding love and giving up their wicked ways. An enjoyable read! However, the reader is left with A kinda cliffhanger. I look forward to Lord Weirlane's story. Well worth an afternoon reading.
The upcoming series...
Lord Weirlane – Book 2 – The setting also involves a house party but one of a different type than Book 1. Learn why this gathering does end in tragedy.
Lord Foxdown – Book 3 - What happens when one falls in love, but the family objects, especially his friend who is the brother of his beloved.
Lord Brookton – Book 4 - Saving a fair maiden can have serious consequences when she has a right hook like Gentleman Jim Jackson.

Lord Windmere: Historical Romance Short Stories (The Four Lords' Saga Book 1) First let me inform you I received an advanced release review PDF copy of the first book in the Four Lords series. I was asked to write review of the book and to let you know in my review that I received no monetary or other forms of compensation other than the advanced copy PDF book. Now about the Lord Windmere. I enjoyed the book but found it had so slow areas in it. I like action in my books. But that is not to say it was boring either for it did make me laugh and cry. Lady Jane is a very sweet lady with vipers around her in the form of a jealous female named Lady Penelope who uses her friends to help her in her quest to marry Lord Windmere. Lady Penelope's plans of course are foiled and Lord Winmere was always there to rescue Lady Jane. I look forward to her next book and see what happens to our next Lord.
This is book one in a series of 4 short stories featuring English Lords. The gentlemen have a bet requiring each to marry for love before their 30th birthdays or pay a £500 bet.
Lord Windmere heads for a house party where he meets a sister of one of his friends. While they quickly renew their acquaintance there are other members of the party who will do whatever necessary to keep Lord Windmere from Lady Jane.
Can Lord Windmere keep Lady Jane safe and alive until the end of the party? This is a mostly clean, exciting Regency story
This first book📕 is about The boy next door who is older and will be a duke one day. The girl next door is about ten years younger and is The daughter of an earl.
Growing up, Lord Mathew🐺🍆🌋 is best friends with Jane's brother, and of course, Jane💃💋 wants to tag along as The boys explore the two huge estates. When Mathew🐺🍆🌋 finally goes off to college, they don't see each other again for a few years. In that intervening time, Matt🐺🍆🌋 becomes a rake, somewhat of a womanizer, along with three of his college friends. Once a rake🐺🍆🌋, always a rake?
The book ends in a cliffhanger. It's a decent, solid read, with a little bit of repetitive scenarios, but overall, it's an interesting read.
I almost put the book down at the beginning. The backstory was unnecessary and the writing was stilted and boring. A little variety in sentence structure would be welcome. The writing in the main story was better, but not great. The plot was predictable and lacked any real suspense or creativity. Also, the author had trouble with the concept of "show, don't tell." Although the author leaves the story with a "cliffhanger" (of sorts, since it is already rather obvious as to what is happening), I will not be reading any more works by this author.
I enjoyed the characterization and plot of this novella, and hope that the author's technique continues to develop. I was distracted by misuse of commas, frequent use of modern expressions and idioms, and details and passages that, while interesting, did nothing to move the plot forward. However, interesting plot twists set this above the countless predictable stories. There was also an honesty in the emotions of the characters that I found refreshing.
I guess I've been spoiled by many of the historical romances I've read. I expected the same creativity and complexity from this one. However, after a promising start it just plodded along like an old dray horse. The writing is workmanlike at best and the author relies upon many of the cliched plot features typical of the Regency Romance genre. I hope the author finds the courage to develop a more original voice.
I am glad this was a free Amazon Prime book because I really would have been annoyed if I had paid for it. The plot was completely predictable, the characters one dimensional, and the writing style so simple it was annoying. Absolutely no need to read any of the other books in the series v
Me Thomas handled the the story of Jamie and Matthew with tenderness and I understanding. They grew up as friends but Janie is younger. The years part them but renewed their friendship at a house party. Someone tries to harm Janie not thinking that she is only driving them closer.
This story started out amusing.... Little girl chasing big brother and friend. As she grew older she knew where heart lie.... But Matt took a while to realize it i look forward to reading the other three stories!
Seriously, who in the nineteenth century said “whoohoo”, no matter their age? If you want to read a cozy love story it’s fine but I always enjoy learning as I read. I am inclined to question anything this author writes.
Stock Regency romance with a little mystery and the required HEA. There’s nothing fresh or unique in this very short story that comprises only 88% of the published page count, the rest being author’s notes and a preview.
Lord Windmere is going to a house party because his folks want him to consider getting married. He finds and old friend there and immediately becomes attracted to her. But she keeps getting hurt and he is facing his feelings for her for the first time. This is a short book but interesting.
This was an interesting tale with more books in the series that actually begins another tale to hook you at the end of this first one. Nicely paced, a bit predictable but a good clean romance.
It was a cute story, but nothing that really recommends it. Old friends fall in love. He comes to the rescue every time something happens to her. Too predictable.
This was amazing I loved the characters and the story was very interesting with lots of drama and excitement and lot's of love. Thank you for an excellent read.
