Il codice degli innocenti è il romanzo d'esordio di Adrian Dawson, edito dalla casa editrice Nord. Tutto inizia con l'esplosione di un volo Boeing 747. Il caso viene archiviato come un attentato terroristico e con l'arresto dei presunti colpevoli. Tutti ne sono convinti, anche Jack Bernstein, miliardario a capo di un'agenzia informatica, la cui figlia era su quel volo, di ritorno a casa dopo molti anni che se n'era andata senza dare spiegazioni.
Jack scoprirà che nulla è come sembra e che le persone di cui si fida pienamente in realtà hanno sempre giocato alle sue spalle.
Si ritrova ad essere pedina di una partita più grande di lui: tutto gira intorno agli scacchi e nell'incipt c'è proprio un bel paragone tra la vita e una partita di scacchi. Ma chi c'è al comando?

Probably one of the most ludicrous plots I've ever read. I had to force myself to go on listening and only did so because of all the great reviews. However, if you like minute detail about computers, AI, chess and crazy religious cults you will absolutely love this book so don't take my word for it.

L'histoire d'un grand maître d'échecs et aussi président d'Intellisoft, une multinationale de l'informatique, apprend que sa fille dont il est sans nouvelle depuis 3 ans, était a bord de l'avion Francfort-New York qui vient d'exploser en plein vol.

Thriller au suspense oppressant avec une incursion dans les mystères de la Bible.
Dans la lignée du code Da Vinci de Dan Brown.
Excellent a lire.

For a debut novel, it is intelligent, thought provoking and incredibly well written to boot. Much better, in my opinion at least, than similar novels by Dan Brown, which seems to be the DeFacto standard by which all novels of this genre are based upon.

Characterisation is very well done. The main players are well fleshed out, and the supporting cast are also well defined. Excellent plot development, twists and turns, and a sting in the tail. What more can you want? Great stuff.

Maybe one day, the comment "If you liked the Da Vinci Code, you will like this" will be replaced by "If you liked Codex..."

It's rare to say this, but this book would work much better as a movie. It has plenty of twists and would make for a nice action-thriller. However, unlike a movie, a book lets you pause and think about what is happening, and the problem here is that the bad guy is such a caricature and his actions in pursuit of his goals are so dumb that I found it hard to keep interested. Given what we learn that the bad guy wanted and what he had at his disposal, the only point in the plan he put in practice is that it makes for a more interesting story.

I was hooked from page 1, Wow I loved reading Codex, it had so many twists & turns you never knew where it was going. Every time I thought i'd got it all sussed Adrian threw in another twist.
How on earth does a human brain come up with a storyline like that? The attention to detail & the continuous changes in direction had me on the edge of my seat.

era da un po che non leggevo una Thriller così carico di tensione, mistero, enigmi con quel tocco di paranormale alla "fringe" che tanto mi piace.
assolutamente da leggere, e non aggiungo niente per non rovinare le sorprese.

J'avoue avoir failli abandonner. On a du mal à entrer dans l'histoire. Il faut quasiment lire 1/3 du livre pour enfin être aspiré par l'histoire et en plus la fin est totalement surprenante.
