You get what you pay for…

It’s my thirtieth birthday. It’s also Valentine’s Day. I’m not sure which one sucks most.

My best friend, Sarah, begged me to go out with her and her husband for dinner, but I’m not in the mood for celebration. I’ve worked hard all day, run for an hour, and now I plan to spend the evening alone playing video games and eating a whole tub of cookie dough ice cream.

But when I get home, I discover a man sitting on the carpet in the corridor outside my penthouse apartment.

He’s tall, gorgeous, wearing an expensive suit, and carrying the biggest bouquet of red roses I’ve ever seen.

He also has a huge red bow tied around his waist.

“I’m from Casanovas,” he says.

Hmm. That sounds vaguely familiar...

He gestures at the bow, and his smile turns mischievous. “Sarah says Happy Birthday.”

Oh. My. God.

2.5 stars, rounding up

This is a new-to-me author. I liked some things about this book a lot and others not at all, so I'm rating it smack dab in the middle.

Things I liked:
- really amazing chemistry between the protagonists
- the sex scenes were steamy and frequent but not tiresome; not overly graphic, but still satisfying, and consent was handled well
- I liked that Elise was the billionaire here, so that was a bit of a trope inversion, and Nik never has any insecurities about her being wealthier than him

Things I really did not like:
- there's a lot of... gender essentialist language in this? if that's how to describe it? lots of this is what makes a man manly, etc. and it's so unnecessary, imo. just say you like chest hair because it's hot, y'know?
- really--again, totally unnecessary--references to nonwhite things being "exotic," for the love of god. there's even a Kama Sutra mention. dear lord, stop using this text in books about sex. seriously, just say you read a magazine article about new sex positions or something???
- I'm not 100% sure if the author is white, so part of me wants to share some thoughts about biracial characters but... I'll refrain
- really on the fence about the sex worker rep. I found this fell into same trap as TKQ, which on the surface portrays sex work as something Nik isn't ashamed of, but it's actually a problematic setup with a Moral Reason for doing sex work, as if that makes it more palatable. I really don't think most romance gets this right, even when authors are clearly trying. so, idk, I'm kind of over male escorts in books right now.

5 Star Review of Casanova by Serenity Woods

What an unusual story line which hooked me and reeled me in from the first to the last chapter.

When her best friend Sarah, hires Nikau, an escort from Casanova’s to entertain Elise on her 30th birthday, her first instinct is to turn him away.

However, putting on her big girl panties, she invites him in for a drink, or so she thought.

After their initial night, Elise cannot stop thinking about Nik and decides to hire him for two weeks. With the money he can earn, Nik will be able to use the money to pay for what he needs to. After a great deal of discussion with Elise, Nik accepts and they agree he will spend from 6pm to 6am with her for a month.

The dynamics of their relationship intrigued me and I fell hard and fast for Nik.

When circumstances tear them apart, Nik cannot understand what has happened, particularly since Elise refuses to talk to him, he has to enlist her friend to help him.

This was an emotional roller coaster of a read which had me in tears on occasion and then laughing out loud.

Never have I wanted a couple to get their happily ever after as much as I wanted it for Elise and Nik.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

I am a big fan of Serenity Woods, having read 36 of her books, and I think she is really trying to kill her fans in Casanova. She has created every woman's fantasy here with a wonderful man who is there just to pleasure a woman. Who cares that he is being paid well to do it, which is legal is New Zealand where the book is set. And he is trained to bring a woman to ecstasy!! Elise is bordering on being a recluse who works from home 7 years after she suffered personal losses (no spoilers!) and her friend and partner in business Sarah decides to send her a male escort from Casanova. In this reverse Pretty Woman story, Nik manages to charm and seduce Elise and she sees what she has been missing. She makes a deal to pay for Nik's company for a month and in return he can afford to pay for expensive Alzheimer's medicine for his father. For her, paying for an escort is a safe way to have sex and companionship without the emotional involvement of a relationship. Any man that she is dating probably would not stay around as long as Nik does, since he is paid to be there.
Elise has a lot of secrets and baggage that keep her at arm's length from people.. The book alternates the narrative between Elise and Nik so you get both of their points of view. The dialog is great and you will fall in love with the characters. However, can they really continue to claim no involvement after a month of companionship and sex? Does love creep in when they are not looking? This story is incredibly hot and sexy, but also deep and emotional and, oh so romantic.

Casanova by Serenity Woods

Sizzling sensual story of a male escort gifted to Elise by her best friend and business partnerr for her thirtieth birthday. Now, Elise is not in the market for a man of any sort...definitely not an escort...or is she? With smooth talking Nik there it doesn’t take long for her to ask him inside, offer him a drink and challenge him to a video game and that leads to talking and thinking and then...what Nik was paid for in the first place.

This is indeed an adult romance but it is more than spicy scenes because the author has created two believable and lovable characters that so deserve to have a happily ever after together. Both have suffered losses and both have life issues to deal with but together I do believe they are stronger than they are apart and they are so very good for one another. I know that when I read a book by Serenity Woods I will be entertained and educated and meet characters I would like to know in real life. This book is a keeper and one I will read again.

Thank you to the author for the ARC that I voluntarily read – This is my honest review.

How about a Pretty Woman reversal. Geez, I’d like to find a handsome hunk in a tux waiting on my doorstep with roses for my birthday. How come I don’t have a girlfriend like that to send me one? He’s funny, he’s geeky, he’s genuinely nice and ssssss, he’s hot as hades.
Although the book is a standalone , it was a real treat to catch up with the Three Wise Men and Love Comes Later books characters. If you haven’t read them, you should. You’ll enjoy them all. Serenity Woods certainly has a way with words.

Casanovas is an escort agency for ladies. Pick a guy from the catalogue and he’ll do whatever you want; even your ironing … nude.
But the guy waiting at her door with a bunch of roses and a giant red bow around his waist wasn’t booked by Elise; her business partner and friend Sarah hired him for her birthday. Elise hasn’t dated for years or even had sex in that time.
Nik’s been waiting for an hour and Elise can’t turn him away without offering him a drink at the very least.
***
This ties in with her other series; the two play Dark Robot and Sarah and Elise are tech billionaires who use their hacking skills to design security software.
It started very sweet. Nik is a charmer; a Maori army vet who has become an escort for the pay rate and available hours. He has responsibilities. And Elise can only cope with it if she tells herself it’s as if she picked him up in a bar. And this works for him as well. [which is kind of a cop out - either he’s an escort, or he isn’t. This is neither - if that makes sense.]
Elise Bennet? [yeah ikr] and her ‘wound’ (the thing she’s carrying from her previous relationship) is a bad one.
But …
Man, I don’t know.

An instant romance classic!

OMG, this book is so wonderful! I was captivated from the very first page to the end. Elise and Nik had such a strong initial connection, and they started to have deep feelings for each other from the very first date.

The story setup is like a reverse “Pretty Woman” scenario, but the author makes the story better, not sordid, and full of depth. It takes place in New Zealand. Elise is a 30-year-old self-made billionaire in the data security industry. She is very down-to-earth, not arrogant. Her best friend/business partner, Sarah, and Elise had gotten rich quickly since college. Elise is rather reclusive and lonely, so her best friend gave her the birthday present of a high-priced escort. Nik has only been an escort for 2 months, and he would like to get a normal job as soon as possible. He had been a lieutenant in the army, but he recently got out to care for his father with early-onset Alzheimer’s disease. Nik couldn’t get a good-paying normal job in the economic slow-down, and he has medical bills to pay. With all these details, Nik is such a regular, good-hearted guy (aside from being totally hot and great in bed). FYI, Nik is half Maori (the Pacific Islanders in New Zealand), not Eastern European, as I assumed from his name in the book blurb.

Nik and Elise communicate really well. They help each other deal with serious personal problems. Their chemistry is explosive! There are a bunch of love scenes, some a little kinky. The scenes are exquisitely intimate. Their first love scene was gorgeously romantic, one of the best I have ever read!

I recommend this novel to everyone who loves steamy contemporary romance and to anyone who likes the movie “Pretty Woman”. The writing is extremely brilliant. It is one of the best romance novels that I have ever read.

There was many of what I am assuming grammatical errors, but I can't be too sure if it was meant to be that way because of how many times it was listed like that.
The sentence will just end in 'as' like 'You are hot as' or 'You were silent as' am I am like AS WHAT?!?
The book seems to be based outside of the US so I am thinking that maybe its a slang term from where the author is located, but it wasn't explained.

As an author, you've got to expect your books to reach people all around the world. It's okay to have slang or a different language in the books, but don't make a bitch google shit or sit there wondering WTF you are talking about. Personally, when this happens, it takes me out of the story completely.
There should've been a little message when some slang terms and its definition at the beginning so we know going in what it means. One of my all time favorite authors always has Russian in her books and she never has a page with definitions nor does she copy the phrase in English after its said in the book like some authors, and it KILLS me to have to jump out of that world I'm engrossed in, google the phrase and then re-read with that phrase. But even so, at least if I don't know what it is, I can google it. With this, you can't google what the slang term 'as' is. lmao
It just makes you sit here thinking either the book hadn't been edited properly or the author didn't expect anyone outside of her area to read the book.

Another thing not mentioned is Trigger Warnings. Now I can see how the TW would be a spoiler to the story because I totally did not expect that to be anywhere near what happened, I thought the whole time her ex died (even though that kinda didn't fit at times). But some women are triggered by the mention of child loss and also abortions. So, should've had a note like hey 'the TW will be spoiler to the plot but if you feel you need them, here they are' or something. I 100% do not remember anything about warnings and I already deleted the book so Im not about to go buy it to look again.

Idk why but I was under the impression the MMC was 35. I swear I remember him saying that, but when I went back to check myself, it definitely said 33 lmao. I was like WAIT. Where the hell did 35 come from? hahaha. The MMC was sweet but idk something was off about him.

This was a new type of story for me. I loved the idea of him being an escort and falling in love with his client. But, like the FMC had plenty of issues with, how do we know he's forreal? He gets paid to make women believe they are everything to him. lmao

It was a cute read for sure. Definitely should've had more drama. That shit at the event just blew over WAY too quickly.
The smut wasn't really that smutty. It had more of a romantic vibe to it every time instead of a good fucking. It wasn't dirty, raw, and rough even when they said it would be. His 'oh honey' and the 'mmm yeah' just wasn't doing it for me. Needed more 'oh fuck Nik harder' or 'oh god right there don't stop I'm coming!' type vibes.

I still enjoyed the story because I was really curious about her ex. You could tell she had been hurt really bad and didn't want to be with anyone again. At first I thought maybe the ex died, but then that didn't fit some of the things for how she was acting. But then it came out - and DAMN I did not see that coming. That was a good twist, normally I can tell where a story is leading.. but this I was like blindsided haha.

This is a lovely story. It has quite an unusual beginning for a romance. On her thirtieth birthday Elise goes out for a run, and when she arrives home to her lonely and luxurious penthouse there is a man, dressed in a tuxedo and a large red ribbon, waiting for her, holding an enormous bouquet of red roses. Nikau works for an escort agency, Casanovas, and has been hired by Elise’s best friend Sarah, to spend the evening with Elise. She has become something of a recluse since her world imploded around seven and a half years before. She almost only goes out for the occasional run.

Elise’s first thought is to get rid of him, she doesn’t need company; but Nikau is persistent, and persuasive, and they have a lovely evening together. Nikau tells her about himself, why he has taken a job as an escort after leaving the army, and she is very touched by his honesty and his story. She cannot stop thinking about him, and a couple of days later she telephones the escort agency to book his services for two weeks, twenty four hours a day, and has paid up-front, he will earn $268,800, enough to pay for all the things he needs to do. She is very wealthy, it is no hardship for her, and she wants to help him, knowing he wouldn’t just accept the money as a gift. Nikau goes to see her to discuss it. He has responsibilities, and once she has persuaded him to take this opportunity they agree that he will stay from 6pm to 6am every night for a month.

They get on very well, falling for each other without ever mentioning it. Mostly they stay in, but do go out together, once for dinner with her friends, where Nikau gets offered the chance of a good job, but regretfully turns it down because he would need to admit his current employment and doesn’t want to embarrass Elise. Their other outing becomes exceedingly embarrassing and almost breaks them up. However, almost at the end of their time together events cause Elise to tell Nikau to go, and he just doesn’t understand why. He sends her flowers every day, but she won’t speak to him, her telephone is always switched off. Of course, this is a love story, it cannot end there. With just a little help from her friend, Nikau saves the day, we are going to have a happy ever after!

This is an extremely emotional book, both characters make you laugh and cry in equal measure. Nikau is a wonderful character, life has been hard for him in recent years, and although he needed a lot of money none of it was for himself. When he left the army he had extreme difficulty in finding a decent job that would pay for his needs, which is why he took the job as an escort. Elise had several events, all close together, that broke her, and made her determined to never make herself open to such unhappiness ever again. Serenity Woods is so good at writing emotion, you feel you are there, part of the story.

This is a quite unputdownable story, well worth reading.

Not my usual preferred genre or writing style but...

Sadly, I was in such a hurry to read more by this author that I completely forgot to review the trio I read that preceded this book! I guess I'll just have to borrow it again so I can do that when I've finished with this review and hope that she understands that it's only because I enjoyed her writing so much (despite it not being my usual choice {which I'll explain in a moment}) and that she'll forgive the delay! LOL!

Normally I prefer to read anything with some sort of paranormal angle to it...particularly if it's a paranormal romance, but that trio that I mentioned above? THAT was a trio of Christmas romance stories and it IS that time of year, after all! So...despite the fact that I knew, going in, that there wasn't anything (besides the "Magic" of the Christmas season) paranormal in that trilogy, I read it & despite the "writing style" (which I'll explain further in a moment) not being something I ACTIVELY seek out, I so enjoyed the trilogy that I couldn't wait for more! Which brings me, finally, to this book!

The reason why I wrote it the way that I did was so that you can understand where I'm coming from. If the author hadn't recommended that THIS book be read first as a continuation of the trilogy I, quite possibly, may have missed it altogether! As I said, not my genre and this time it wasn't even a Christmas book! As for the writing style...I'm not saying that she has a bad writing style! Don't misunderstand me there! I just don't generally SEEK OUT books with the sex scenes SO graphically written! I'm no prude! Clearly I enjoy her writing or I wouldn't have read on & plan to continue reading the rest of the billionaire King stories she has! And...THAT is what I LOVE about her writing! She made me care about the characters! The same thing happened with this book!

I had a hard time figuring out whether to 4.5 or 5 star this one. This book was sexy as hell, but also emotionally charged.

Elise is a heartbroken woman with a traumatic past. She comes home on her 30th birthday, which also happens to be Valentine's Day, to find a sexy man waiting by her door with a ribbon tied around his waist.

Nik is a loving son who left the army and took a job as a professional escort to help buy medication for his dad. And I LOVED him.

Oh jeez, this girl's smarter than Einstein and a complete geek. I think I'm in love.

And did I mention this book was sexy AF?

"You squeeze me like a tube of toothpaste," he says.
"Is that a complaint?"
"A little. If you could make your orgasms a tad less powerful, that would be cool."
"'s your fault," I mumble.

And the emotions? My heart ached for Elise and Nik soothed it with his steadfast attention.

He makes me feel alive. Without him I'm a tree without sunlight and rain, turning brown, the leaves falling to the ground. When he's kissing me, making love to me, I unfurl and flower, I reach for the sun.

While I loved this story, something held me back. My 5 star ratings are definite. Since I'm hesitant, I'll stick with 4.5 stars for now. But seriously, this was a wonderful story with a hot amount of steam and just enough angst.

Casanova is the start of a new series that hooks us up once again with The Wise Men who we met in a previous series, that being said you don’t need to have read those books to love this story. Serenity Woods has a way with words she makes you feel like you are catching up with friends when she introduces you to her characters and she also describes New Zealand so well in fact I always think I’m going home even though I have never visited this beautiful country.
Nikau works for an escort agency, his job is all about pleasing woman and he has been hired by Elise’s best friend in the hope of giving her a surprise she won’t forget....
Elise arrives home after a run to find a handsome hunk sitting on her doorstep dressed in a tuxedo and holding the biggest bunch of roses she has ever seen. The first thought is he needs to go but as she try’s to convince him of this she starts to think what’s wrong with a night of fun .....
I loved getting to know this couple, they are both dealing with issues and doing what is needed to survive. Opposites in so many things but also having so much in common can Nikau be the man to draw Elise out can he be the man to make her live outside the walls she has built around herself. This love story is a breath of fresh air, it’s moving and vibarant and it will certainly captivate you so make sure you have time to finish what you start. I can’t wait to see where Ms Woods takes us next with this series and what new characters she will introduce us too.

Casanova marks the welcome return of one of my favourites from Ms. Woods’s series, the Three Wise Man. The story is sweet and very romantic, skilfully designed to provide an escape into a dreamy and heart-warming parallel universe.
Ms. Woods is well known for creating captivating and unforgettable male characters. With Nik, she once again succeeds in depicting an original, strong minded, intelligent and incredibly caring and sweet persona.
Elise, the heroine, is no less. Extremely intelligent and a computer genius, she is a successful business woman who knows what she wants and is not afraid of coming across as unconventional and outspoken. Her emotional journey throughout the story is vibrant, moving and extremely captivating.
Nik and Elise’s tale is fresh and very sweet, capturing and fascinating the reader at all times.
Most of the characters of the Three Wise Man populate the story, some of them even playing an important role in it. Ms. Woods’s readers will surely appreciate the continuation of the stories of these treasured characters, while new ones will have the opportunity to get to know them and read more of their adventures in the upcoming episodes of this new series.
Overall, Casanova is, in many ways, a return to Ms. Woods’s original style and inspiration. I personally welcome this development, and I hope to see more of these stories in the near future.

Casanova
Serenity Woods
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A Casanova on her door step, her 30th birthday. It should be a celebration, but for awkward Elise Bennett, it’s another night she’d prefer to work and play video games. Except a very hot, sexy man sits in front of her apartment, a huge bow around his waist, an even bigger bunch of roses in his hands means her night just got waaay more interesting.

This was my first story from Serenity Woods, and I’ve got to say she’s become a new favourite. It’s been a long time since I found a story that had me wanting to stay up all night to finish it, one I invested my time in and absolutely loved it!

I figured this would be a lighthearted story of unconventional love, he works for his money and she hacks companies computers, they are not a pair for the books, but for this one they crushed it! But both have past issues, creating a harder present. Elise uses sex to avoid real life, she’s sets a plan for 30 nights with Nik, he gets the money he needs for his dad. While it’s all about contracts, it’s not long before fee,I gas rear their heads making their relationship more difficult.

While Nik is happy to tell Elise his feelings, for her it’s nowhere near as easy…. she’s carrying years of loss and grief, maybe her Casanova can be the man to heal those wounds forever!

Quirky, fun, but soul searching read.

Elise Bennett, at 30 receives a Casanova (escort) from her best friend for her birthday. Unsure what to make of the beautiful man standing outside her door she throws caution in the wind and invites him in for a drink... one drink and then he’ll be on his way, she tells herself. But as that drink turns into two, she decides maybe she may just take this opportunity and have what’s on the menu.

Nikau Rogers isn’t sure what to make of the beautiful woman whose penthouse he’s standing in, but when he sees her casual and down to earth style he wants to know more, he becomes fascinated with her. And after an Unforgettable night he thinks he won’t see her again...

But she wants to help him and the only way is to hire him for two weeks. They spend a month together and it becomes increasingly obvious they’re falling for each other, but she has deep seeded issues from her past and he’s got a sick father to look after, when it’s all over will that be the end of this? Can she let him go? Will he just walk away?

I loved this story, the characters were well developed and had me cheering on their relationship from the start. Geek girl billionaires need love too, as do hard working ex army lieutenants. Well worth the read.

Wow! First book of 2019 for this author and she hit it out of the ballpark! I love characters that are complete opposites, rather complex, smart, sassy, damn sexy, and end up with so much in common you start rooting for them to make it from the get go. Elise is a self made billionaire in computer security, she’s not social, loves gaming, has had a tragic past and doesn’t stray far from her penthouse that overlooks Waitemata Harbour. She has everything but a man in her life and she’s perfectly content. Nik is sex on a stick, and works for an escort service called Casanova. And lucky Elise has just been gifted a night with Nik by her partner Sarah, because she thinks getting Elise laid will be a step in the right direction for her. I loved these two characters right from the start. As with all the books this author writes, you’re sucked into the story right from the start, and you can’t put it down until the very last page. Didn’t see Elise’s tragedy coming at all, and I adored what she did for Nik and his dad. Great story and great characters makes this book a must read.

Okay, I'm officially obsessed with Serenity Woods; I literally haven't been able to read anything else by another author in weeks!

This is a standalone romance (though it features some side characters from other series) about Elise, a billionaire recluse, who's best friend hires an escort for her as a birthday present. Initially skeptical, Elise invites Nik into her apartment for a platonic evening playing video games, and soon the two develop a strong connection.

It took me a little while longer to get fully absorbed into this book than with most SW reads, but once I did, I thoroughly enjoyed this. The plot was pretty unique and the chemistry between Elise and Nik was FIRE. As with all books by this author, both Elise and Nik were well developed characters with interesting and sometimes tragic backstories, and I loved how their connection developed.

I was pleasantly surprised to learn that Elise and Nik are actually the parents of characters that appear in the Billionaire Kings series (the series which initially got me hooked on Serenity Woods), and it made me even more excited for the next two books in that series to release later this year.

This steamy read is based in New Zealand and starts with an escort service, Casanova. Elise, a billionaire thirty year old computer hacker / cyber security expert was surprised with a gift of a male escort, Nik, a thirty three year old half Maori ex army lieutenant, for her birthday by her friend and business partner, Sarah.
Elise had some issues, is borderline agoraphobic and is a reclusive workaholic. Nik manages to persuade her to accept a few hours of his company and she finds that she is comfortable with him. Things progress from there when she finds out that Nik is working at this escort business as he needs to pay for his father's medical bills, so she hires him for a month.
Nik is a lovely, understanding man who knows how to deal with Elise and they get along very well. But what happens when the month is over?
This was a steamy read with lots of sexual scenes and swearing. The story was a good one and it was well written with lot of feels and a lovely HEA. I rate this book 4.25*.

Can a romance that begins with a financial transaction feel believable? When it's Serenity Woods writing Casanova, it sure can! While this is currently a standalone, I would be more than happy to have more material like this from Woods in the future.

Elise lives to work, rarely getting out for more than her run, so her friend, Sarah, hires her a birthday escort. Nikau isn't put off by surly Elise, and is more intrigued with her the longer they talk. A few fine whiskeys and video games later, Elise relents to a night with Nik. After their night together, Elise books Nik 24/7 for two weeks. While Elise did enjoy her time with him, she wanted to help Nik afford a medical treatment for his father. Knowing he would only accept her help by earning it, Elise re-booked his time. Elise doesn't expect Nik to actually spend all that time with her, but Nik insists he spend his nights with Elise for a month, so he can still care for his father during the day.

While Casanova is a bit steamier than Woods's more recent books, that does not come at the expense of the characters. I still felt like there was good character development. Nik and Elise weren't just attractive people with no depth, they both had heartache in their pasts.

There was so much to like in Casanova! Having a woman work as a serious programmer was a nice turn, as it's usually males taking the "nerd work." I liked Elise's relationship with Sarah. It was refreshing to see to very successful women who have taken different personal paths with their success, but continue to support each other. While a few characters from some of Woods's other series slip in, we really get to see the "Three Wise Men" crew. It didn't feel forced or awkward to see them again, and really fit in with the Casanova story line.

Serenity Woods has given the reader a sexy, steamy story in Casanova. It has an outrageous beginning that is truly fantasy material. While it sizzles completely from beginning to end, it also has heart. It is closer to the Like a Boss series then it is Three Wise Men but still a fully and seamlessly developed story not fluff.

The description of the book gives the reader the overview but it is never that simple with a Serenity Woods’ book. The heart, head and emotions all come into play in this story. The characters are fun, likable and the kind of people you would want as a friend. In fact, it is Elise’s friend that gets the ball rolling in the story. What a gift. What a fun book for these dreary winter days here in the northern hemisphere. Just the book to brighten things up.

The publisher/author gave me a complimentary ARC of the book which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I recently picked this up through one of the many book clubs I'm in. I don't think I've read anything else by this author and it's book four in a series I haven't read. I was expecting a light and fluffy romance but there was much more to this story. Elise is basically anti-social with a best friend who's worried about her. This friend surprises her by hiring an escort for her 30th birthday. She reacts as you'd expect, but does let him in and they hit it off. This develops into a longer term arrangement, partly because she wants to help Nik out financially.

This book has multiple touchy subjects, not the least of which is the fact that he's an escort. Add in death, grief, divorce, and parental illness and it becomes about much more than a simple romance. The whole story flowed in a way that made sense and I liked Elise and Nik. As expected, there was a lot of heat in and out of the bedroom but it wasn't over the top.

Elise is a very successful businesswoman, but she doesn't have a personal life. Her best friend and partner pays for a Casanova escort to spend the night of her 30th birthday with her. Elise isn't impressed, but they spend a lot of the evening talking and finding out about each other. Nik is an ex army lieutenant who left the army to look after his father who is suffering from Alzheimer's. The is a new medication that might make a difference, but it is very expensive. The next day Nik is surprised to get a phone call from work saying that Elise wants to hire him 24/7 for two weeks which would give him the money he needs for the medication. What is going to happen when their time runs out? Why is Elise so shut in?

Another great read by Serenity Woods.

Sexy, steamy, intriguing read! Elise is a loner, loves to game and works from home hacking into computer systems for fun and then selling the company more secure software. Today is Valentines Day and her birthday. She is going out for a run then coming home and just relaxing. What is waiting for her after her run is Nic, a gorgeous guy, wearing a suit with a red bow around his waist and an armful of roses. Surprise, he is her birthday present from her best friend Sarah. Nic is from Casanova’s, an escort service. He’s stunned when he sees Elise, he can’t believe the beautiful woman in front of him doesn’t have a husband to share this day with. Before the night is over Elise knows she wants much more of Nic. A must read if you love hot steamy passionate nights. Ms. Woods is an amazing Author. I highly recommend her books to everyone!

Wow. This is Serenity Woods at her best. I've loved every book I've read by Serenity, but I think this is my favorite.

Elise is alone on her thirtieth birthday by choice until she finds a gorgeous man on her doorstep. Not just any man, but an escort hired by her best friend who will do anything he's asked to do.

I loved the banter between Nik and Elise. He knows how to push all her buttons and leads her into a relationship hot enough to burn the house down.

Elise has sworn off all men and when you find out why your heart just aches for her. Nik is a decent guy working to get enough money to get treatment for his dad who has alzeihmers. Neither is seeking a relationship so they work out a contract and enjoy each other as long as they have.

I can't say enough about how much I love these two characters. I know you will too.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Casanova was not what I expected. In all honesty I didn’t read anything about the book prior to buying it, so I didn’t know what to expect. I knew it was about a male escort and that was about it. So obviously my mind went to sexy erotica - it was sexy but not so much erotica. There was so much more to this book than sex, including caring for a sick parent and losing a child to SIDS. Nic was a gift for Elise’s 30th birthday. Elise is woman with so many issues she feels its best if she just stays in her tower and avoids people altogether. When they meet there is an instant connection, not just physical attraction but a friendship too. It was nice to catch up with a few characters from The Three
Wisemen. I look forward to reading about all of these characters in the new series The Billionaire Kings.

I think Serenity Woods is a terrific author and have enjoyed many of her books. I liked this book and enjoyed the characters, but I found the ending a little weak.

One thing I discovered is that prostitution is legal in New Zealand (I checked one outside source to confirm this). Before checking, I was a little surprised at the cavalier manner in which Elise and her acquaintances accepted her “paid for” date, Nikau (Nik).

Nik is perfect and helps Elise work through a number of difficult personal issues. Nik has some family issues to resolve as well and Elise steps up and really helps him.

These are warm characters that evolve quickly and it’s wonderful to see. And Nik’s persistence pays off. I simply feel that more unpaid time together would have laid the foundation for a more solid ongoing relationship.

Great story!

Nikau Rogers (Nik) sounds like a dream come true. Nik was in the military but eventually left to take care of his father who has Alzheimer’s. Nik is qualified for higher paying jobs but is having trouble finding one that pays well enough, that’s when he signed up to be an escort.
Elise is a recluse who lives in a fancy penthouse and is fearful of heights and social gatherings. She and her best friend Sarah run a computer security company. Elise refuses to date but Sarah purchased Elise a male escort for her 30th birthday, that’s how she met Nik.
The story unfolds beautifully and the only suggestion to the author who be to stick to either American English or British English. It makes the reader have to stop and figure out what the British terms are meant to be in American English.
