For five years, Cecilia Morgan’s entire existence has revolved around playing personal assistant to self-centered former NFL quarterback Wade Carter. But just when she finally gives her notice, his father’s health fails, and Wade whisks her back to his hometown. CC will stay for his dad—for now—even if that means ignoring how sexy her boss is starting to look in his Wranglers.
To say CC’s notice is a bombshell is an insult to bombs. Wade can’t imagine his life without his “left tackle.” She’s the only person who can tell him “no” and strangely, it’s his favorite quality. He’ll do anything to keep her from leaving, even if it means playing dirty and dragging her back to Credence, Colorado, with him.
But now they’re living under the same roof, getting involved in small-town politics, and bickering like an old married couple. Suddenly, five years of fighting is starting to feel a whole lot like foreplay. What’s a quarterback to do when he realizes he might be falling for his “left tackle”? Throw a Hail Mary she’ll never see coming, of course.

I’m into double figures when it comes to the number of books I’ve read by Amy Andrews and me being the lover I am of small town romances, I was looking forward to this.
Was there such a thing as farmer porn?”
Sexy former NFL players/farmers can only bring joy to the world as can independent sassy women and Nothing but Trouble brings us that but it didn’t hit the heights I was hoping for. The storyline in general was sound enough with a fun bunch of characters, however I have to be honest, you could have shaved a third off the length to no real detriment and that fell largely on CC and Wade’s shoulders as they danced around one another which became tiring.
She was five Super Bowl rings. An eighty yard Hail Mary. And he didn’t know how to win her over.”
But there are cute baby piggies, a sweet—albeit very insta and closed-door—side romance involving Wade’s shyer older brother, banter courtesy of his family and friends, and a raft of quirky vocal residents all determined to do their bit in encouraging more women to make Credence their home. I simply found it too long and CC and Wade’s romance too slow off the mark to become entirely invested in on this occasion.

3.5 Leaving Made Him See Stars * * * Spoiler Free-No Troubles, ON SALE 99 CENTS!!! Huge Amy Andrews fan. She has given me happy reading times. This had all the elements of humor, banter, and a HEA.
A Cocky Football Stars takes his personal assistant sort of for granted. She has worked with him for years and knows the drill. She takes no crap from him and calls him out when he needs it.
But the time has come and she gives her notice.
Unfortunately, the guy's dad has a heart attack and that changes everything. She puts off quitting and goes out to the farm in Colorado to help take care of the dad. It is there that both of them start to see each other for more than what they were before.

Nothing But Trouble is a passionate, workplace romance that introduces the hardworking, fiery CC, a young woman dedicated to her job but ready to head out on her own and start anew, and the confident, magnetic Wade, whose past has left him wary of the idea of forever and not too eager to risk his heart once again.
The writing is amusing and light. The characters, including all the supporting characters, are gregarious, spirited and lovable. And the plot sweeps you away into an original, irresistible, push-pull storyline filled with witty banter, honest emotion, shameless flirting, palpable chemistry, light drama, swoon-worthy romance, family, friendship, and community.
Overall, Nothing But Trouble is a fabulous, entertaining read that I thoroughly enjoyed. It has a wonderful cast of characters, a unique and steamy storyline, and a happy-ever-after ending that will not only leave you smiling but anxious to read what will happen in Credence, Colorado next.

After reading this one it feels weird that I was able to actually finish this the whole way through and not pick it apart and go off the deep end when some of my major pet peeves reared their ugly heads. I feel like I should treat myself for not automatically hating this one, lol. I surprised myself by actually liking this one as much as I did so kudos to the author for making two really likable characters.
So this book is something outside my comfort zone. I don’t usually like reading about star athletes and their co-workers/employees/acquaintances falling in love because typically the H is a huge giant manwhore, the h isn’t, there are usually one sided feelings (or unrequited love) and in this trope it’s almost a guarantee that there will be a lot of unwanted details about his past conquests and the OW are always in your face and that type of drama and angst isn’t fun for me.
Nothing But Trouble managed to avoid most of these and depict the rest so well that even the triggers that did come up did not phase me. It goes to show that the right kind/amount of drama and sweetly redeemed characters can make a huge difference!
Right off the bat the story opened up with CC, who has been Wade’s PA (for almost 6 years now), realizing that she is finally ready to move on. She’s tired of being at the beck and call of basically a big horny teen trapped in a adult’s body. She’s tired of putting her life on hold for him and his countless women and she’s sick of all of his over indulging and she's also starting to feel aimless in her life.
But right after she finally works up the nerve to quit, Wade gets some news about his father’s health and in a spur of the moment decision, decides to pack up and head home to the family farm to pitch in and to finally dedicate some time to writing his autobiography, something he's been putting off for a while now. CC feels she owes him and agrees to go but with the understanding that this will basically be her two week notice.
CC and Wade have a complicated relationship. Both heavily rely on the other but never allowed themselves to see each other as anything other than professionals. AKA boss and employee.
It’s not until they move in together and small town life and family force them to see each other in a different light. Suddenly they aren’t just boss and employee, their friends and partners, confidants and team mates. This can definitely be classified as a friends to lovers romance and again it complete took me by surprise how much I liked these two really getting to know each other and actually slowly and progressively falling in love.
As far as their romance goes, this one is a slow burn. It’s not unrequited love either. These two do not develop one sided feelings for each and pine away while the other goes about their love life with no care in the world. They were 100% platonic and I really appreciated that small detail because the overflow of info regarding Wade's promiscuity were pesky enough, but if CC had liked him and he was able to ignore her for almost 6 years? That would have been a hard sell and a big fat fail for me. This only worked for me because his past stayed his past (we only get details about his manwhore behavior in the beginning of the book and it's not constantly thrown in the readers face) and there was no major OW drama. Wade becomes 100% devoted to CC and he never wavers from her or his feelings once he realizes how he feels for her.
There are a few intertwining plot lines in the story and they all pull at your heartstrings and show you a vulnerable side of the MC. For CC its was her reason behind her California dreams and for Wade, it was finally putting a painful incident in the past, where it belonged and moving forward. I loved meeting Wade’s family too. Especially his brother Wyatt and his mother. Both were great secondary characters.
Memorable Moments: Secondary characters actually stole the show for me which is kind of funny because Jenny and Wyatt (Wade’s virgin brother) had very little page time but when they do, they hog the spot light. I loved their meet cute and they were just so perfectly adorable together. I fell in love with their love story and wish they’d gotten their own book! I could have savored their sweet awkward goofball romance a lot longer and not complained once.
Would I recommend? Probably not to the safety gang but others might enjoy this boss/employee, friends to lovers romance. It had really cute moments, some laugh out loud humor and fleshed out characters that will not bore you. I usually steer clear of these types of reads because they can be overly angsty and dramatized but surprisingly this one was well balanced. Some things I could have done without (see quotes below) but overall it was a good read.

Rarely do you find a romance with so many amazing characters, right after I finished Nothing But Trouble my mind started contemplating whose story I'd want to hear next...
Amy Andrews emotionally invested me, the reader. She masterfully pulled me through the gambit emotions following the CC's and Wade's rocking relationship while keeping us completely loving their surrounding cast! She even managed taking an very unlikable, self centered, star and turned him into the perfect guy for CC.
Straight up, Nothing But Trouble is a feel good, family centered, hometown romance with a golden cast that I just can't get enough of.
I received this ARC copy of Nothing But Trouble from Entangled Publishing, LLC - Amara. This is my honest and voluntary review. Nothing But Trouble is set for publication April 30, 2019.
My Rating: 5 stars Written by: Amy Andrews Series: Credence, Colorado Sequence Series: Book 1 Mass Market Paperback: 400 pages Publisher: Entangled: Amara Publication Date: April 30, 2019 ISBN-10: 1640635378 ISBN-13: 978-1640635371 Genre: Romantic Comedy
CC Morgan has worked for self-centred former Broncos quarterback Wade Carter for nearly six years. Six years of 24/7 catering to his frankly scary Nerds addiction, buying him condoms at 3am, sending flowers to all the women he breaks up, consoling all the women he breaks up with (because heaven forfend he gives women his own cellphone number). Then just as she is about to hand in her notice Wade's father has a heart attack and Wade decides to move from Denver back to the family farm in small town Colorado and he wants CC with him.
Suddenly CC and Wade are living in a small town, getting involved in town politics and opening up to each other in ways they never have before.
This is just heaven from start to finish, CC and Wade are great together, she doesn't take any of his NFL macho BS, she doesn't think he's all that, in return he relies on her and respects her attitude. Amy Andrews at her best, not as raunchy as some of her others but still with enough smexy times to raise the temperature. Funny, sweet, sassy with baby pigs!
Can't wait for the next one in this new series, I want Arlo and Winona to be a thing.
I received a free copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in return for an honest review.
Nothing but Trouble is a heartwarming story and a great beginning for a new series. It’s a familiar trope when a relationship goes from business to pleasure but pleasantly surprised there was more to it. CC Morgan has been the PA for Wade Carter for the last 5 ½ years and can’t wait for this job to end. Being on call 24/7, she has seen it all from 3 a.m. calls to go buy condoms to consoling ex-girlfriends when the relationship ends. When he decides to spend the next 3 months in his hometown and she’s expected to go with him, she’s had enough. He knows he’s on borrowed time with CC and hopes he can convince her to stay on but she’s determined to leave and move to California. Wade has 3 months to convince her but what throws them both for a loop is when they start to look at each other in a new light. It scares the heck out of CC and makes Wade a bit jealous.
CC and Wade were very interesting characters and I loved how they developed over the story. The author created them and they had depth to them and you felt for them and what they are going through. CC saw Wade as a non-committing bachelor and was never going to change his ways. Wade saw CC only as his PA and nothing more. Seeing him working on the ranch, Wade started to look very sexy as a farmer and a cowboy. She had a hard time putting him back in the box of being the boss. Wade’s friends were becoming her friends and they learned things that Wade wasn’t privy to in the least. Wade started to question what he really knew about his PA and it wasn’t much. I liked the small interactions and how they slowly got to know each other personally. Each had a personal secret and once it was spoken it said so much about the other. These were subtle changes that there was more to the other person and that blurred the lines between them. That wasn’t the only thing happening between them. The sexual tension was slowly building and at times quite funny. It wasn’t rushed but you can feel the friction and knew it was coming.
Nothing but Trouble was an entertaining story and I had a fun time reading it. The small town setting and the introduction of secondary characters made it feel cozier and whet my curiosity on what future couples may be developing. The town troubles of attracting women made for a great plot and how Wade and CC had opposite opinions on this matter, intensified feelings in their relationship. The secondary romance of Wade’s brother Wyatt was absolutely adorable and I’m glad to see it all work out for him. The secondary characters, the subplots and the main romance, all weaved together seamlessly and I read it with ease. Overall this was a well written contemporary romance and I’m definitely going back to Credence for more.
I can truly say Amy Andrews has a knack for giving her characters some wickedly delightful lines! Toss in an occasionally raunchy sense of humor and the next thing I know, it’s past my bedtime and I’m not ready for the book to end! Nothing But Trouble was sweet and hysterical, serious and sassy, and had a wonderful romance. I loved the town of Credence and can’t wait to see what happens with some of the locals.
Reread of 2022 I still had fun reading this book but wasn't as enamored with the story and the characters as the first time. That's the risk with reread.
Review of 2019 Her boss, former NFL quarterback star Wade "the Catapult" Carter might be retired since three years, but he's still a serial dater and his PA, Cecilia "CC" Morgan, have had enough of having to be available all the time but especially, dealing with the phone calls and complaints of weepy women. She's finally financially comfortable and is about the give her resignation when Wade's father have a health scare. So she put her new start on ice and accept, reluctantly, to follow him to his hometown in Credence for a few months, while he'll help his father and brother on the farm and have to work on the memoir he agreed to write. Sharing a house with her exasperating boss is not what CC had in mind for a summer vacation but seeing farmer Wade is so much more attractive to her than athlete Wade. For the five year and a half that she worked for him, CC has always been immune to his good looks but feeding piglets together and sharing life's stories can change the perceptions. But can a 38 years old emotionally unavailable man can convince a woman, who also have trust issues, that he's reliable.
Author Kate Meader said about this book : "Heat. Sass. Laughts. This book has it all!" It's the perfect way to describe Nothing but Trouble. Not only I got an amazing, thrilling and beautiful romance but the author also made me fall for every single person in this town and I just can't wait to be back in Credence! The idea for the town brought more substance to the plot. The evolution in CC's and Wade's feelings was wonderfully well done and I totally believed and felt the profesionnal relationship shifting for sexual awareness and chemistry. I was a little wary at the beginning about the hero's player reputation but it was quickly obvious that he's not a jerk and he was always upfront with the women. His addiction to certain candies was funny and I like how he suddenly realized CC was the only constant in his life. Can't wait to see more about Wade's friends, especially with Drew's unusual job and Arlo and Winona need to end up together, please!!! By the way, there's a second romance with Wade's older brother and a new woman in town.
Thanks to the little piglet on the book spine who made me pick this book at the bookstore
PA CC has been working for a demanding ex quarterback for years. He works her hard, demanding her to always be on call, doing everything from setting making appointments , buying condoms, and dumping his one night stands. She has a plan, she has saved and it's time to move on and find him a new PA. There is only one problem, Wade does not want to let her go. He finds a way to manipulate her and it leads to a whole new complication. This was a great read, so much fun. There was so much conflict between these two. Wade was a womanizing irresponsible man child and CC responsible one, the one with a plan. She knows everything about him, he knows little about her. She wants to stay on a professional level, he wants to test that line. They couldn't be more oil and water, and that makes the best coupling. Hot, steamy, with a slow build up that is perfect for this relationship. If you are looking for some snarky, romantic fun, this might be the one for you. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
3.5 stars As always Amy knows how to turn up the heat. The book for me had its pros and cons. One of the biggest pros was that the heroine had not been lusting/loving the hero over the past 5 and a half years and after seeing his revolving bedroom like any sane woman had serious doubts over his "fidelity". Our hero Wade was a pro-athlete and obviously a player. The heroine worked for him, basically 24* & and had signed her life away for a hefty paycheck, which would help her realise her dream.
When she sees the end is near, and raring to leave, trouble with hero's family means they negotiate and she can leave earlier if she a city girl agrees to go home with him. The romance in this one is slow-burn. There has been no stolen glances and sighing the past few years which I appreciated. This was a nice, enjoyable read despite the cliched romance-land man-ho hero.
Loved this book! I'm not normally a fan of football romance (or sports romance in general) but this is not that at all. Yes, the hero is a retired quarterback and there are some football references, but the story is so much more than that. The small town setting is utterly charming, and I loved how Wade and CC go from business professionals to friends to lovers in a natural way instead of having some long-simmering unrequited lust. They're both flawed but lovable characters who completely stole my heart. Each of them screws up along the way, and watching them learn and grow and set things right gave this story so much dimension and depth. I also really loved the secondary romance with Wade's brother...so charming! And did I mention adorable animals? THERE ARE ADORABLE ANIMALS, YOU GUYS!!! My heart is melted.
For a while I wanted to give a cowboy romance a shot, but I didn’t know where to start. Then Nothing but Trouble came out, and for some unknown reason, it stood out to me. I guess my subconscious recognized this story as one I would really love, because now Nothing but Trouble is one of my favorite books of 2019, and it is in top three for sure. I think this book was pure perfection and I am so glad that it’s sequel will come out this year as well. This was my first Amy Andrews’ novel, but it won’t be the last one because now I want to lose myself in her stories. I just love, love, love this book!!
I loved this story about a man-baby ex-quarterback boss and his personal assistant, who is counting the days until she can quit. But fate intervenes in a big way and she finds herself back in his hometown with his family and friends while he writes his bio. Amy Andrew's witty banter topped it all off for me like icing on a perfect cake. The end was so sensational, it had me laughing and crying, both. Excellent read!
I think this was more of a me thing. I just don't dig cowboys and the whole cluster of characters introduced in this first novel of a series was too much for my brain to handle. I love Amy's style of writing though so I will definitely check more of her works.
Oh Wade, I don’t even know what to do with you, but I love you and your Nerds. Cece is a perfect heroine and just perfect for this football player cowboy. The family, the town, and the side romance are just magnificent. Can’t wait for more from this new series!
So I finally read!! Considering Amy Andrews is one of my favorite authors of all time, it took me a long time to read, not sure why. And may I say, I love our heroines nickname? It's mine too, squee, like damn little girl, lol. Also ~ wait for it ~ I went to high school and college near Denver and I'm a rabid Bronco/John Elway fan!!!! Double squee. Ok, I'm sick of the squee's. But if you like slow burn, small town and really slow to the realization of love Heros, this is your book. And because it's A.A., the writing is fantastic.
💥💥💥💥 YES! YES! YES! 💥💥💥💥 Fave author, giveaway chance and the anticipation of reading. What more can you ask?
This one was so fantastic! I loved the setup - a former football star & his assistant begin to see one another in a new and different way - its a really good way to lead into the story. It took me a while to warm up to the hero but I loved CC from the first page. But, I loved watching them come to know one another and realize how they feel about each other. I loved the side characters and the world of this story. Fantastic read and I can't wait to see what's coming next in the series.
Note: Thank you to the publisher for providing a free copy for an honest review.
This a super cute story about an ex football star Wade and his personal assistant, Cecilia or CC for short. I really enjoyed the small town background and all the other characters you'll get just as invested in as these main two. CC is such a strong independent woman who doesn't let Wade get away with anything. And Wade, well I loved his transformation in this book from I'm never loving again to boots over heels in love. The story line was funny, sweet, and a terrific build up to a terrific ending.
this is my 4th Amy Andrews book - of the 3 i read before this one, i loved 2 and wasn't a huge fan of the other one. the difference between the ones i loved and the one i didn't like was the ones i loved were set in Oz and all Amy's australian-isms came through and i adored it. the one i didn't love had other issues, but i wasn't a huge fan that it was set in america. so when i saw this on netgalley, i immediately wanted to read it but then saw it was set in america and i hesitated. obviously i ended up requesting and reading it and overall i quite liked it.
first off, wade is seriously not likable for a large chunk of this book. i admit, i am a little over the manwhore with the heroine who isn't as experienced. CC was definitely a strong heroine, she had a great personality and a backbone. i just wish the difference between their sexual experience/history wasn't as drastic. but Wade eventually grows up and grows on the reader. but when he's unlikable, he's seriously unlikable, and that was too large a chunk of the book for me. he was just so arrogant and i know she was his PA but damn man, he really was way too reliant on her for ridiculous things that made me question his ability to adult on his own.
because i didn't like wade until like halfway, i didn't feel that connection i wanted to. when they finally get together, i felt like it wouldn't have happened without the forced proximity/moving to Credence together, and i wasn't a huge fan of that. i wanted to feel like they'd have ended up together regardless, you know? it wouldn't have hurt to have a couple hints that they were attracted/into each other beforehand. wade mentions he notices she was a woman because he's a man, but that didn't quite do it for me.
as for the trope, i haven't read a ton of this set up, but one of my favourite books is the wall of winnipeg and me. this book definitely reminded me of Winnipeg, and i bet other people will see the similarities too. that's not a bad thing. but i think this one missed the mark on 'now we are together, i'm not going to be your PA any longer, we should discuss this'. yeah, she quit and he followed her and she said she'd find him a new PA, if i remember right, but we never saw Wade actually treat her like an equal or partner vs his PA. their relationship definitely grew and matured when they were living in Credence together, i guess i still felt like he relied on her as a PA vs a partner. I don't know.
I also thought CC's comments about the pregnant lady at the beginning were kinda mean. But maybe I'm just sensitive. also, there was a 'i'm not like other women' that made me cringe just a wee bit.
i did feel like the book was a bit long, it felt slowly paced with lots of set up for future books and then the ending felt quite rushed to em.
now, all that being said, it sounds like i hated it, not at all. for some reason, i just always have more words when it comes to things i didn't love vs things i did.
i did like this one, i liked CC except for those comments, I liked Wade during the second half of the book. I liked the town, i liked all the other characters. I do think there was a bit much of all that, we could have done less and gotten more in the next book or two.
I loved the hints we were getting of Wyatt and i was all for it, all for getting his book until it becomes quite obvious he won't be getting a book . i'm not mad about it, but i am a little curious, it's not often you see a secondary romance getting as much of its own page time like this one did.
it was funny at times, definitely sexy, there were some cute animals, i liked all the banter. this book does have a lot going for it and i really don't want it to sound like i hated it because i really didn't. hence the 4 star rating.
overall liked it and will absolutely read more from this author including the next books in this series.

4 Star Review Nothing But Trouble (Credence, Colorado #1) by Amy Andrews
Amy Andrews is a new author to me and I have to ask myself why that is. Cecilia Morgan’s life has been totally focused on the man she works for, former NFL quarterback Wade Carter.
However one can only work for someone for so long and when CC finally hands in her notice he is shocked,; he cannot imagine his life without CC. However all that will have to wait as Wade is heading back to Credence due to his father’ sill health and he is determined that CC accompany him.
I love cowboys and small town romance and Nothing But Trouble certainly made for entertaining reading. It was amusing to watch Wade and CC dance around the feelings that were developing between them. The secondary characters were great, particularly Wade’s family, and I am looking forward to reading their stories.
Thrust into life in a small town, Wade and CC soon find themselves involved in small town gossip.
There was humour and fun, little piglets and a whole lot of feel good moments in Nothing But Trouble.
I really liked CC although Wade annoyed me at first, he grew on me as the story progressed. I look forward to reading more in the series.
I received a copy through the publisher from Netgalley.
I’m so irritated that I have to give this two stars. Ughh, I just don’t understand why authors do some of the things they do.
What I Liked: 1) The writing is great. The story flowed well and the author does a great job with the writing itself. I’ve enjoyed other books of hers as well for this reason. 2) I appreciated a smart, strong heroine. For the most part (see below), CC was pretty great. 3) I love Wade’s brother Wyatt. Franky, I wish HE had a book - I would have loved to read his romance with Jenny. Big miss from the author.
What Bothered Me: 1) Wade is a manwhore. That in and of itself bothers me. HOWEVER, its worse than just that. In almost 6 years of working for him, CC has to break up with his flings, send flowers to his one night stands…and RUN OUT AT 3am TO BUY HIS CONDOMS!! Then when they hook up they go condom-free because she “knows he’s always been safe”. Do you know that? How do you know that he used condoms every time? And has he been tested? Nope! He sounded like a walking STI to me! And how do you forget the (likely) hundreds of women he’s slept with SINCE meeting you and fall for him because he’s dreamy and fit? Sorry, THIS ISN’T ROMANTIC!! STOP WRITING DISGUSTING HEROES WHO CAN’T KEEP THEIR DICK IN THEIR PANTS FOR MORE THAN A WEEK!! For fucks sake, after they finally get together at the END of the novel, they have sex and she thinks about one of his past flings said to her and agrees he’s great with his tongue. You just admitted you love each other and you are now thinking about his conquests?!? What the fuck is that?? 2) I liked his family, but I hate how his mother was characterized initially. I don’t know the age of the author, but can we stop acting like women in their early sixties are decrepit, barely breathing hags? It mentions her hair being silvery - nothing wrong with that, but it aged her beyond her 64 years. Worse, it describes her as “surprisingly agile for her age”. Was she supposed to be confined to a wheelchair? She’s 64 not 94. I think authors need to actually write characters appropriately. 3) Its worth noting that I felt like this was the shitty long lost relative of Wall of Winnipeg, but done all wrong because…and I can’t stress this enough…he’s a manwhore and doesn’t hold a candle to Aidan.
I wouldn’t give up on this author because she is very good…but I’ll be more careful about the heroes.
If you don’t mind manwhores, you may actually love this. I just had a hard time looking past it and thinking he really loved her from the moment he met her but was just too blind to realize it.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
This is my first book by Amy Andrews and the blrub sounded promising. Plus I like small town romance. I actually liked most of the book Wade and CC were an interesting pair. This had a boss employee romance going on. Wade a famous ex pro NFL player had to go back to his small hometown. He brings his PA to go with for the summer then she can resign. Funny thing is Wade relies on CC alot, CC knows him well and attuned to him. They have a lot of chemistry as their working relationship.
Being in a small town they grew closer in other ways than work. There was a lot going on the the small town, they want to grow the town's female population so they invented this ad. So this segways into Wade's brother Wyatt's love life and the other bachelors in town. Here's where it gets iffy for me lots go on in between CC and Wade external stufff. Then suddenly all that tension turns into physical that they brush off. The physical stuff is hot but emotionally not feeling it, they kept denying it. That was so confusing.
I get the point CC wants nothing like her parents dependent relationship and all but I just don't why she can't tell Wade. They can't seem to be honest and spit it out I got so frustrated. Wade seemed clueless about her hidden feelings and CC is confusing and stubbornly set in her mind he's a womanizer. Then suddenly Wade realizes his feelings right at the end which didn't make for believability. Too slow to get really into them, not the slow burn type of slow too. This had promise and I would probably read the other books in the future.
So CC has been working for Wade for 5 years and she has had enough, enough of working for him 24 hours a day, enough of buying candy and condoms at ridiculous times of the day, enough of having to talk to the woman that he uses as tissue paper. She finally has the money she needs to buy a house and relocate to her dream state California. Unfortunately her plans get derailed when Wade decides to live in his hometown for 3 months to help his father out and he was not happy that she gave her resignation he thought she would be with him for a longer time or in his mind forever. These two find out that even though they have never acted on it they are attracted to each other but have been lying to themselves and their family and friends nudges them to admit and not let the other go. The one thing that bugged me is that he claimed he loved her from the first time he saw her,(yeah that does not work for me when he slept with whatever walked) I don't get that and never will, everything else was enjoyable..

Besides the laugh out loud moments in this book, it is a fabulous sensual romance filled with emotions and joy and yay it is the start of a series, make yourself comfy as you get to know PA Cecilia Morgan known as CC and retired football star Wade Carter as they have an exciting, fun, sensual and moving journey to a HEA that will have your heart fluttering.
CC Morgan is a strong and determined woman, she has five older brothers and knows how to look after herself she is a fabulous PA and very independent, when she takes a job with top footballer Wade Carter she knew she would be working hard and was available to him twenty four seven for anything that he needs, she is paid well for the work she does and is saving to buy her own home, but when the time comes to resign Wade is needed by his family so a trip to his hometown Credence changes a lot for CC and who knew a cowboy could look so sexy and turn CC on.
Wade is now retired from his beloved sport of football but is still a sort after celebrity he has been in love before and hurt badly and he is the ace with short flings and has had CC to help him out for five years now, but when he takes her home to Credence for three months to help him write his memoirs and she becomes close to not only his family but his friends in town and Wade is starting to think very differently about his awesome PA, CC and maybe there might be a future for them if he can get it right.
The way that CC fits so well into life in Credence and helps out with the plans to grow the population was so very good. This book was such a joy to read, laughter, emotions, awesome characters that just added so much to CC and Wade’s story and of course MS Andrews’s way with words that bring sensual moments to life and such bliss to her readers. I do highly recommend this book so much and am really looking forward to the next one in the series, such a fun and sensual story I loved it.
I had a feeling I would like this book but I didn't realize that I would love it. The chemistry between CC and Wade was explosive and you could feel it coming off your kindle.
They have worked side by side for 5 1/2 years and it hasn't crossed their minds to step over the line of professional boundaries. A trip to Wade's hometown changes all of that in the best way possible.
I loved how clueless Wade was. It was glaringly obvious that he was interested in CC but he didn't see her as a woman, she was his right arm. I loved reading about how jealous he would get when his friends would hit on her but he was so 0blivious as to why he was feeling this way.
I really liked CC. She tried to be helpful and professional but sometimes a woman has just had enough. I admire her for her goals and even though she is making a lot of money working for Wade, sometimes the best thing to do is move on. Too bad a stubborn cowboy/ex-football player doesn't agree.
I love when a story really pulls me into its world and makes me feel all the things. That’s exactly what Nothing But Trouble did. I loved everything about this! There is humor, love, and amazing friendships. From Wade and CC, to all the wonderful people in the town, to the super cute animals, I couldn’t get enough.
I loved meeting CC and Wade, I enjoyed their banter and ease with one another. CC is such a feisty woman, I loved her attitude and determination. I adored Wade and loved watching him grow and change. He was so much more than he seemed to be in the beginning and I loved getting to know him. Watching them come together as things change and feelings start to emerge made my heart feel full, it was playful and fun. I felt like a chuckled my way through the majority of this. There were just so many special moments happening. I loved the build to their relationship, learning their histories and them opening up. It was sweet and sexy!
The town and the people... I might love everyone just as much as I love Wade and CC. There were so many entertaining scenes with them. I loved meeting Wade's friends and enjoyed the camaraderie between them, each of the guys is charming and funny. I loved meeting some of the women that were involved and the connections and interactions with the men. Seriously, every guy needs a story, I'd read them all! I was also really intrigued by the predicament the town was in and the plan to fix it. It brought this really interesting element along with a great group of people.
Making this truly great read even more amazing, there was a secondary story happening and oh my goodness it was the sweetest most heartfelt thing ever! I was just beyond thrilled how the author set up sharing it and the different POVs. The writing was fantastic throughout and I thought the story flowed really well. This is an excellent introduction to a new series. I highly recommend it!
A sweet small town, boss- employee story that I read as a palate cleanser from some angsty books. There is nothing new or groundbreaking in the tropes involved. But the author's writing is like a warm, comforting blanket and you find yourself reading the story just so you can feel like a part of the Credence family. I loved the bond that Wade has with his friends. The banter between these men was so funny and made you want to know them. I loved the small town unity, vibes and the saving storyline very much. The chemistry between Wade and CC before their relationship turned to more than a working one was also very fun to read. A unique thing about the book is that we don't just get to see Wade and CC's HEA but also that of another side character that I had been rooting for ever since he was introduced.
Overall this was a sweet story that you could read for pure escapism.
He has almost everything, the looks, the money and the stable loving family. Notably missing the love and soul mate he needs and desires. Fame and notoriety don’t buy happiness. His PA is his professional rock and without her he is lost. Navigating a grey area a challenge that will test. CC has decided to leave her role as Wade’s PA as the demands are taxing, while infatuation and lust becoming new hurdles. Before leaving he wants her to head back to his hometown for a stint with him while his father recovers from heart surgery. Living under the same roof and sustaining a normal working relationship will be the challenge. A heartwarming romance set in the American countryside with cast of side characters that had me intrigued and absorbed. A concept of re populating the country town with bus loads of single girls from the city was brilliant. The comical and clumsy road to romance as they cross uncharted territory will engage and the sassy sex scenes won’t disappoint. Wade’s brother Wyatt who prefers the simple and uncomplicated life has a beautiful storyline that could nearly have its own book. This is my first foray into the talents of Amy and won’t be my last. I am impressed that an Aussie author can capture American set romance so authentically.
