This book was disappointing.
"Illustrated Guide" sounded very promising, but the illustrations are mostly odd cartoons with impossibly small print (perhaps the dialog bubbles worked better in the original Chinese). I read this as a paperback, although that version isn't listed in Goodreads.
Aside from the trouble with the illustrations, I found the text itself to be verbose without deep enough content. This might be good as a very first, high-level overview of Blockchain concepts, but is not valuable for someone who knows even a little bit more than that.

I picked up this book because blockchain often feels like this intimidating, “tech-bro” concept that’s hard to break down. What I love about this guide is how visual and accessible it is. With over 200 illustrations, it doesn’t just throw heavy jargon at me — instead, it shows me how blockchain works step by step.
The authors did a great job simplifying complex ideas without watering them down. I especially appreciate the way the book connects blockchain to real-world applications. It made me think beyond cryptocurrency, into how blockchain could reshape industries from finance to healthcare.
That said, this isn’t a deep technical manual. If you’re looking to code smart contracts tomorrow, this won’t be enough. But if you want a strong foundation — to understand what blockchain is, why it matters, and how it fits into the bigger picture of our digital future — this is a perfect starting point.

I had a terrible time reading it. As many mentioned there are way too many typos and expressions that makes no sense. Some of the information is not even right. The illustrations (albeit cute and we'll designed) did not help much with the reading. The flow is quite confusing as well. Topics are thrown left and right and it makes it more confusing.
In addition, all the Chinese references. Way too many for a book that (I presume) is marketed to a non Chinese audience. Whose Chinese references are limited.
That said, the intention is good, and it's a good way to understand some of the main concepts in blockchain and crypto. I hope the writers are not discouraged to continue improving their writing skills and produce better content.
Good: For (specially Chinese) students who don't care that much about typos and reading the same sentence more than once. Also if you want to have a different perspective on blockchain and you have read other books on the topic.
Bad: If you are used to read books with a clear flow and easy to read. Sometimes you need to double check the facts in the book. I would recommend other blockchain books first.

Interesting book. However, some concepts were hard to describe. There were plenty of translation errors and typos, even though theyllustrations were interesting, and the ideas were portrayed quite well. I recommend it today do those that have no idea about blockchain whatsoever but wants to learn more in a quick., however some Concepts and examples are not very clear and are hard to understand for somebody without IT background.

Many typos, convoluted sentences distracting the flow of reading.
As the title suggests, more illustrations would had been welcomed than the verbiage.
Nevertheless there are some worthwhile content.

It was tough to follow the language, the English grammar was really rough. That said, the illustrations were helpful and it filled in some gaps in my understanding.

Does a fairly good job at describing a hard-to-define subject, especially to a newbie like me. I definitely want to lean a lot more on the subject after reading this.

Did not pick up much more than what I already knew about Blockchain. Poor writing style reemphasizing Blockchain technology’s safety and immutability. Would have hoped the book cover more clearly (and simply) how Blockchain’s potential can help improve ordinary person’s everyday lives. Instead, I find myself end up getting confused with IOT applications. Perhaps it’s just not as easy to understand.
