This was an interesting book to read.....a non fiction account of a mans fight against the Police and Justice process following a fire that destroyed his business of a car garage. It was clear to me that the fire at his garage was wilful but strangely the police were reluctant to take details of it as a crime. It appeared that he was targeted by a certain individual and some form of set up against him by the Police whereupon he found that he had a criminal record that belonged to someone else......a mistake?....or deliberate? To be honest....I felt he was a bitter man with an axe to grind against lots of people and I found that to be one sided against the system. It was a great read and I did enjoy following all the real characters and sensing the feelings of anger and frustration in him.

Another brilliant piece of scottish crime journalism from the leader in the field. Following on from his books about the gangsters of Glasgow, this one follows the victims of a crime who are turned on by the police. An incredibly infuriating story that'll have you pulling your hair out on behalf of the undeserving victims. Quite unbelievable the lengths of entrenched negligence and corruption favored by the police rather than investigating the original offence. Speaks to a clear problem in organisational policing in Scotland and the cronyist protectionism that impedes honest police work.
