I was intrigued by my original review, could only remember very vague parts of the plot, so decided to give this a re-read via Kindle Unlimited.
I was disappointed by the number of editing errors in this, given that sufficient time has elapsed for updates to have been made. Whilst I still enjoyed the story and appreciated how well the authors ratcheted up the tension - you feel on edge so often through this story - I did find myself rolling my eyes at how far fetched parts of it were. I also found myself skimming parts, particularly the overly long and overly frequent sex scenes. I mean, yes they were hot, but the book would have been half the original length if they were all deleted from the manuscript!
I would kinda maybe recommend it still. Eh, it's worth a try!

I feel like I could give this both 1 star and 5 stars for a whole variety of reasons, which I will try and explain.
I’ve never read any work by either author and from the little bit of blurb I was expecting a book along the lines of JA Huss’s “Taking Turns”. Oh boy was I wrong. The book is seriously dark, savagely twisted and morally corrupt. So dark it was like coal. At times I felt like you do when you pass a serious car crash… you don’t want to look, you know you shouldn’t look but somehow your eyes are drawn to the carnage. I’ve read some dark books (eg Comfort Food by Kitty Thomas and Beast by A. Zavarelli) but this makes those look like a child’s bedtime story. It almost needs to come with a warning – and is not a book for the faint-hearted. Oh and I’m not referring to the sex – some of which is taboo and all of which is steamy. No I’m talking about the mind f***ery that goes with this book.
I both loved and hated this at the same time. Parts of me said ‘as if you’d make that choice’ whilst another part said ‘who knows what you’d do in the same situation as Ella’. A part of me thought ‘as if you’d really be able to set up those games/get away with them’ and that other voice replied ‘who really knows when you have untold wealth and the power that brings’. I frequently questioned why I was reading the book and yet I kept on doing so.
I also felt there were many unanswered questions. Were there only ever the same three men involved? How many other games had been played? Did games overlap or run one straight after the other? And quite frankly how did these men actually keep their business afloat as they seemed to spend more time ‘playing’ than they did working? Had Three purely set up the game just because of Ella? There was an attempt to explain why he had wanted Ella to play the game but I was confused as to what he wanted to shape her into and what he truly wanted/expected to happen. Also if he was so obsessed with her why Day 3’s game?
And the only true explanation I could come up with for why they played ‘The Game’ was very unpleasant and made me really dislike those taking part. We’re richer than you (hence more powerful) so we’re superior to you also appeared to be another unpleasant theme.
I didn’t feel any love or romance or ‘normal’ caring in this book at all and the epilogue chilled me even further and almost made my stomach turn. I did feel the love between Ella and Tobias though.
And yet I gave this 4 stars. If I hadn’t had those unanswered questions I would have rated this 5 stars. Why? Because it is an extremely well written book and despite reading this almost as I would watch a horror film (through my fingers and hiding behind a cushion) I wanted to know how the story would end. I wanted to see how The Game would end and whether there would be a HEA. The characters were not necessarily likeable or pleasant but they were believable, intriguing and captivating. The Game is meant to mess with Ella’s mind and the book certainly did the same to mine. Unique plot line isn’t in it, and part of me is almost thankful for that.
I think this is one of those books that I’ll need to read again at least once to fully appreciate the story. It’s a good book, it’s an amazing read, I would recommend it but ONLY if you don’t mind how deep into the murky depths of human depravity this will take you.

WOW. I cannot recommend that series enough!!!
If you like dark stories, if you think you can stomach two hot and dangerous men playing you like a puppetin bed on your kindle and in mind, that series is for you.
I've been curious about The Game series for a while box, so when I got the opportunity, I just dived into it.
The Game series is one of those that you won't be able to put down once started, and thta you wont forget anytime soon once finished: it's intriguing, suspenseful, scorching hot, the authors captivated my attention from beginning to end.
Ella, sweet and beautiful Ella, thinks she is having an interview when, really the CEO makes her a proposition she wasn't expecting, a proposition she neither can or wants to refuse.
"One million dollars."
"What would you be willing to do for it?"
"Or better yet, what would you not do?"
Tobias and Preston want Ella for a week of submission, body, mind, soul, and they won't take no for an answer. They want her to play a games she doesn't understand, play along with whatever challenge they come up with, and most importantly never ask questions. The only rules she knows are: 1) Never leave, 2) Never question, 3) Never speak of this 4) Nver develop feelings, 5) Always submit.
The two men are very different, so between them and they good cop/bad cop strategy, she doesn't stand a chance.: they have a plan, maybe something bigger than what she thinks, they know how to play her, using their charm, which make them dangerous players/partners.
The chemistry between the three of them is incredible, be warned, you might need an extra set of panties when you read this series. The dynamics is all about power, theirs or hers.
I absolutely loved the way Ella's emotions, conflict, fear, lust were handled. In all of this, she navigates blindly without loosing her strength and fierceness, although thry made her very vulnerable.
Ella is an amazing player, I'm really proud of her, her intelligence enable her to last until the seventh day, when all she knows, or rather thinks she knew goes crashing. Although Tobias and Preston are relentless oponents, she never cowers, she remains brave until the very end. But maybe is it THANKS to them? They know how to push her and outrun her limits but they know as well how to make it bearable for her, to subtly support her. They truly are masters of manipulation in their sick game. They are definitively the kind of evil men you will end up loving!
It is sick, fucked up, wrong but so good!!! So much so that I'm game for another round !!!

I went into this story blind on the basis of a recommendation, not having read even the blurb. I discovered a suspenseful, steamy adventure and unwittingly participated in a dark game with Ella. This was a game only the privileged sets the rules for and administers to those on their luck...just because they can. Tobias, dominating and controlled and Preston, carefree, and covertly Three, a third member, make Ella an offer she can't refuse, but at what costs?
I very much enjoyed this story. If not for the characters, Tobias, Preston, and remotely Three, as they issued to Ella seven days of essentially unique trials of conscience and ethics, but also for the twists, the shift in and evolution of their behaviors and feelings. Ella changes into a submissive, though strong and enlightened. Characters manifest their true selves.
As aside from the amazing twists and progressive pace while rich in storyline, the spice level was off the charts. Absolutely mind blowing at the balance between story and steam. Loved the MMF. If I could have one thing I would have liked a different ending. Some questions were left unanswered on a couple of fronts. Still, really liked this book and the writing style.

This book has many, many triggers. Including but not limited to: Dubious consent, emotional and psychological abuse, drug addiction, mental health issues, rape, murder, and suicidal thoughts.
More than half of this book was sex. But I am not complaining at all cuz it was hot with a capital H.🔥 Besides, the plot was quite good too.
Let's move on to the MC's now......the bane and boon of my existence 😏
It had 3 MC's. Tobias, Preston and Ella. (It's an MMF)
🖤I LOVED Tobias. He was the definition of a Psychopath. And while I love the ones who indulge in blood and sex, characters like Tobias gets me off more than the killers....cuz I am a sucker for mindfuck, mental games and manipulation. Tobias was an actual fucking king in that arena. 🖤🖤🖤✨
👄Preston, albeit a bit sociopathic, was like a side character. He was just there as an extra cock tbh, forgive my crudeness.
☠️Ella on the other hand, was a major letdown in this book. I am super disappointed in her as an FMC. Considering the hefty mind games and manipulations going on around her, one would expect her to catch on to the game at SOME point and start playing but she remained naïve and gullible ( with an added body betraying syndrome on top of all that😪). I mean, it suited her character well,....being the little lamb led to slaughter and becoming prey to the mind of Tobias Henton.
But!! One, I like my women to be strong enough to understand and repel being a victim to mindfuck and two, I abhor Stockholm syndrome tropes ( It was more of a Helsinki Syndrome cuz the captor-captive infatuation was not one-sided so yeah. )
Overall, I enjoyed it but I didn't love it. If you like Stockholm syndrome tropes then this is something you should definitely pick up.

Box set this series has been amazing and such a great read, I am glad I have to review the box set I would have been cursing the Authors if I had to wait a week between books...
Such a great series and will have you hooked and trying to guess wth is going on...
Day One Game 1
Really good start to this series Ella has no money and is being evicted from her home then she gets an offer of a life time will she refuse she really doesn't have a choice either be homeless and no money or sign the contract for seven days.. I am so intrigued to see how this all plays out... I am Liking the characters so far but that could change. lol now on to book 2.
Day Two Game 2
This series is so good I can't put them down my head is all over the place I am not sure how this is going to end I could take a guess but I think I am far too early in the game to get it right..
Ella I love. I trying to understand what it is all for. I think there is a lot more to it and cannot wait to find out... on to book 3
Day Three Game 3
Oh hell this series is getting better and better with each book.
So much, I could say but do not want to spoil it for other's but I will say this it is twisted and dark very hot...
I still have no clue what is going on with this game and it is really playing with my head trying to figure out what is going on. so so good.
On to book 4
Day four Game 4
This game is crazy is it a game or is it tests for something, who knows but my head is all over the place, I have so many questions that needs answers.
Poor Ella or is she lucky lol I mean I like Preston & Tobias but two men I am not sure what to make of them. Are they the masterminds of this game or are someone else playing them all...? Number 3 I not sure about I think Ella has a right to feel a bit scared round him time will tell.
Number three I had thought I had an idea of who he was and that maybe we had met him but the accent has thrown me.
On to book 5.
Day Five Game 5
Ella is still confused bit like me to be honest... are they trying to break her but for what what is the end game/
Oh shit I am not sure what is going on now every time I think I might have a question answered I end up with more.
This series is sucking more and more in as it goes through each of the books...
These three together is Hot I mean hello that shower scene. So many twists and turns in this series. I really have no clue what is going to happen.
On to book 6.
Day Six Game 6
My head all over the place, as with each book it starts where the last one left.
Another intense ride and still left with questions these books are putting me through the ringer with my head lol I think I should have given up trying to work them out by now I don’t know how it is all going to end and to be honest do I want it to end this is one of them series and hate to read the last book I so invested in the characters I feel like we losing a friend oh well it all must end sometime.
Onto book 7.
Day Seven last game
I really did not want this series to end oh I love the Twists and turns I have been hooked from the start and it has not not let go till the last page I loved the epilogue too.
I was so confused at times; I thought I was losing my mind let along how poor Ella felt it has been a roller coaster of a ride series.
I not going to give anything away and I not going to say who number 3 is but I did guess it.
You need to experience these books yourself and play the game along with Ella does she win or lose you have to read to find out...

Bueno pensé que era dark romance, pero en mi opinión solo es dark, no ví amor, solo manipulación, fascinación, juegos mentales y el resultado: locura
Quedaron muchas cosas sin responder pero supongo que también era el punto. Las escenas sexuales están buenas, muy creativas y si no prestas atención te perdés quede confundida con varias, culpa mía😂
Está bien escrito y lo recomiendo como un libro de "misterio" lleno de sexo y muerte, no cómo un romance, a mi no me gusto porque si no hay amor no me interesa pero para gustos los géneros literarios, dea

This was a very dark mindfu@k story. Ella is about to be evicted with no job, no prospects, no family. She receives an invitation to interview with a company she doesn't remember applying at. Desperate, she goes anyway. She's met by two men, Preston and Tobias. They present her with an opportunity. A contract to win 'a game' lasting seven days for one million dollars. The rules are simple. Total Submission. Never ask questions. Never leave. No safe words. Four strikes and you lose. The men can ask anything of her, at any time, and she must comply.
Let me repeat that. They can ask ANYTHING of her. She can’t refuse.
This is not a D/s or even a sex game. This book goes into murder, attempted suicide, drugging her so she can't consent, etc. I don't find r@pe as something glamorous. I don't mind dark romance but this goes beyond that for me. I don’t yuck someone else’s yum. This just wasn’t for me.

2 ⭐ I completed the Herculean task of finishing this book. At times, it felt like I was Prometheus and the suffering would never end. It just wasn’t for me but I applaud the author for their effort.

FLOVED this! I almost don't know what to write. I mean... 🤷🏼♀️
Okay, I'll try to pull myself together. I love psychological books. You know the kind I mean. The ones that mess with you. Where you're sure you know what's going on, only to have it go in another direction, only to shout, "Ha! Fooled you!" The kind of mind F'ery that keeps you turning the pages, desperately trying to figure out just what exactly is going on...yeah, it was one of those kind of books.
I do think this is like Marmite - you're either going to love it or hate it. It does need a little editing, but I was mostly able to look past that due to enjoying the story so much.
Let me add one of my handy little warnings in: ⚠️ This is not a sweet book. Don't expect flowers and poetry. It's brutal in places, will make you uncomfortable, will make you feel all sorts of unpleasant emotions. If you don't like dark books or have triggers - don't read.
Personally, I loved everything about it, negative feelings and all. I loved that I couldn't guess everything that was going on. And the ending? 😍😍😍

How on earth did these authors pack so much into 180 pages? PLEASE— I need to know what is in their water or how their minds work because my brain is malfunctioning.

MMF is my absolute favourite jam. The threesome sex was fabulous. The rest of the book was mediocre.
If a book isn’t dystopian or paranormal then it has to have some modicum of reality about it. Throw in a scene where a young naked woman kills a room full of child abusers with a knife, that’s skirting reality too much for me. I don’t understand why they were there, how they got there or why it was part of a game.
The character Three, and his part in the story was bizarre. The appearing and disappearing knickers early in the book should have been a sufficient red flag for me but as I say threesomes are my weakness and that part was actually quite well done if you can look beyond someone stepping away when they are lying on a bed. Continuity is everything!
Oh and make sure the models on the cover match your characters, that’s another pet peeve.

Decepcionante, pero guay.
La premisa prometía bastante. La verdad es que me iba gustando, De hecho, si cambiáramos a la protagonista femenina por cualquier otra, este podría ser un libro súper cool, pero sadly no es así.
Mi mayor problema es que la muy idiota realmente no estaba jugando o siempre estaba perdiendo. No entiendo porque a este señor que era muy superior le gustaba ella. Tampoco entiendo por qué se enamoró de ella cuando el otro chico con el que él ya estaba era mucho mejor. Also, no idea por qué esto pasó de un trío a una pareja, eso fue un gran downgrade.

I just love Ella and I ponder if she will mentally be alright in the end.

When I began reading this final book, I felt like I could finally see the light at the end of the dark twisted tunnel. My emotions were all over the place while reading this series! The characters are so complex and well developed and the storyline is unique, gripping, and incredible!
I must say that I did not expect it to end the way it did. I had several ideas in my head of what may happen, but Ms. Lovell and Ms. Cole completely bowled me over. I love this series and can’t wait to be able to reread it again!
I highly recommend it!

What in the fuckery did I just read! 😍

Following along as someone slowly but surely pushes all of their morality to the wayside to please a man they don’t know…AMAZING 😂 I was questioning where this was going to go when the “games” first started but soon found out questions didn’t help because Tobias didn’t want me to know shit! 😂 Fuck them rules I need answers! But the build up had me 🤯
“1) Never leave. 2) Never ask questions. 3) Never speak of this. 4) Never develop feelings. 5) Always submit.”
Preston was so sweet (well as sweet as a psycho can be😉) there was very much a yin to his yang between Pres and Tobias! Speaking of Tobias 🥵🥵 he’s definitely who I wanted to be the main man!
The relationship between Tobias and Preston was fascinating. We were bouncing between them so often because they finished each other’s thoughts without hesitation (kudos to the Authors for doing it in a way That wasn’t confusing and I followed along perfectly)
Getting to see the progressive change is Ella’s mind as we followed along was fun. Her thought processed changing from right and wrong to “what makes my men proud of me.” And “What do I want outside of right and wrong”
“ All of existence is a test. A game. A manipulation.”
Their spice scenes *chefs kisses* 😏 there is ⚔️ and 🍑 stuff! Yes I sat here panting over them🥵
I am not above saying that these authors know how to get me going…and no I will not be analyzing that 😇

I read ALOT of dark romance so “darkness” level I say 3/5. I’m only mentioning this because some of the reviews have it listed as sooo dark…
And while YES it is dark! Trigger warnings! I don’t think it’s pitch black 😎
Edit to add…I have seen so many reviews saying they wanted to know how The Game even started…but honestly for me it wasn’t a very big leap to just assume it was because rich men given enough power seek out thrills in other ways…and what better way then to control and corrupt another! Plus these were intended to just be novellas (each one a different night) soo short and sweet😏

Things i liked: really hot sex scenes, it was pretty funny, loved the writing style and this scene with Maria and her was unforgettable>>>

- Tobias and Preston are undoubtedly rich psychopathics who play with other humans just for their entertainment😀( i liked them cause its fictional but these mf deserve jail💀🙏)
- First thing i hated was how dependent Ella was to Tobias, LIKE YOU KNOW EACH OTHER FOR 7 fucking days what do you mean with the whole “i love him” - thing??
- second thing i hated was that she clearly preferred Tobias over Preston lmao Pres was nice to fuck but she didnt care about him🧍🏻♂️🥲
- Can we talk about how unfair this game was??? I think game number 4 was chosing between dying or staying forever with those killing motherfuckers😀😀??? In this moment i realized this whole game shit is trash🚮
- The whole Plot with Sawyer was lowkey weird asf and how it ended was so BAD sorry-

El principio lo entiendo y tal, pero llegada la mitad del libro (que siendo tan corto, sucede rápido) me quedé totalmente en el limbo. No entiendo. Por Dios, es que me reí tratando de encontrarle la lógica. Pero como he dicho, se lo perdono por su género y porque no es un libro que vaya de pretencioso.
Pero en serio ¿? Alguien me explica el porqué hacían eso, y no me refiero a la explicación rara que da el libro, sino a el por qué personas adultas actúan con tanto sinsentido.
Que vamos, el consentimiento y el abuso aquí es tema de otra religión, así que nos pongamos tiquismiquis que el libro ya ha hecho un esfuerzo sobre humano por rescatar su pseudo-trama.

I am still very intrigued about this series, Tobias and Preston are sooo mysterious. We still do not know who these two really are...sooo many secrets and I need them revealed...like now!!! lol

But Ella is still in this!! She is still playing their dirty little games...this has become her reality.

I never saw the 7th day turning out the way it did though..lol But really this series was sooo good and I loved reading this series!!! Never read a book quite like it..sooo good!!
I read this series in 2 days..very short reads, there are 7 books, The Game is such a page turner!!
Book one is about the contract. Rules are set, some very crazy games are played and this book is Hawt as Heck!!!

I'm actually giving this one 3.5 stars, but I'll round up to 4. I'm honestly not sure how I feel about this book, and I really don't even know how to explain my feelings on it. The Game is classified as an "erotic thriller"...
One contract. Two guys. Three players. Four strikes. Five rules. Six zeroes. Seven days.
Based on that description, I guess that this story just wasn't really what I was expecting. It is erotic, but not in the way that I thought it would be. Ella, Tobias and Preston are playing a very complex game. It's dark and twisted, and it's much more than just a sensual game of submission. At times, I think that I was even more confused by the game than Ella. I had a lot of questions while reading this book, and even as I got to the end, I still had questions.
There is a trigger warning and it should definitely be taken into consideration as this book deals with dub con, non con, rape, murder, suicide and drug use. It's not for the faint of heart, so if you have triggers, I'd probably stay away from this one.
This book did pull me in from the very first chapter, and I read it in nearly one sitting mostly because I just needed to see who would win the game. Again though, I still don't know how I really feel about this story. It was well written, and as I said, the story is very complex. It made me feel a lot of things and I'm still thinking about it, but I was just left with an odd type of closure as I turned the final page.
If none of the triggers really disturb you, and you're looking for a very dark, twisted and depraved story, then I'd recommend this one. It is definitely all of those things.

Muy bueno, hace muchísimo no leía un libro tan bueno y que me atrapará tanto. Por dónde lo veas todo estaba bien planeado y terminabas tan intrigada con Ella, los dos protagonistas masculinos me encantaron, no son la típica pareja de uno dulce y el otro serio, los dos tenían lo suyo, su lado bueno y malo, me encantó que no sabía hasta que parte era un juego y hasta que parte era real lo que ellos vivían, temia que al final no terminará bien pero no pudo haber un final mejor, es algo fuerte, son situaciones extremas pero me encantaron todas!
