It's a good story as long as you can look beyond the disconnected parts about what I'm guessing is her "rebirth" being spoken of in the pages before she meets Nik. There's pairings already in here but are they from the other stories she's written? No idea on that front.

This is my first book by Amy Allen, and I really enjoyed how different it was. Brandi is a vampire, and she was a pretty awesome character, but had suffered so much heartache. She's been around for a long, long time, trying to find Nik, a Russian wolf. Likewise, Nik has also been looking for her, and their love transcended the ages. But with all that time passing, they each had other lives, and there are other factors that keep them from being together too soon. The twists and turns kept me wanting to find out more about this strange world of theirs. A really refreshing read from a talented author. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

This is my first book by Amy and it was a great one.
I loved Brandi she has a heart of gold. She has spent 200 years looking for her true love Nik.
Nik has been looking for her too and the love between them has lasted and brought them together.
What started out as Brandi just about to give up on life and let the darkness take over her leads her to Nik.
It takes some time and the crazy ex of Nik can't keep them apart there are a few twists that I didn't not see coming.
Nik is like a quiet storm you never see him coming but his lover for Bandi is stronger than anything that is sent there way. Oh and Nik is a Russian wolf and and Brandi is a Vampire.

I love Amy Allen's books, they always offer something unique. This time Brandi, who is an ancient vampire meets Nik - a wolf-shifter. Brandi, who is brought to her knees by unimaginable grief, leaves her family and spends several years wandering alone - lost and heartbroken. Eventually, she finds herself in Santa Fe, where a new job has her coming face to face with someone she has known a very long time.

Although stand alone, this story follows on from Surprises and the beginning of the novel is gut wrenchingly sad. Ms Allen, however, does not let the story become mired in grief, rather she takes us a new journey, a journey which leads Brandi inexorably towards the one person who might just be able to bring her back to life. Will she risk her heart on this second chance?

This story is romantic and endearing, written in a lively style - it's themes of loss, courage, strength of family and enduring love are woven effortlessly through it.
Loved it!

An easy read about a point in Brandy's many lives where she finds her true mate. Interesting that meeting him stops the dark that has been taking her over. At the beginning of the book there's loads of info about her previous hook ups/marriages/pairings, I still wasn't sure of the significance unless it was to show how and where the kids came from. There's loads of little details given some more needed than others. Overall a pretty good read.
