A Gay Shifter Mpreg.

There are things that we want, and things that we need. Sometimes they end up being one and the same.

PHILIP
All my life, I’ve known two truths: my best friend Jaeger is my true mate, and I’m destined to marry a princess I’ve never met for the sake of my kingdom.

Prophecy’s a bitter pill to swallow when you’ve tasted true love and are told it can never be. But I wouldn’t be worthy of my beautiful omega if I were willing to let selfishness be the ruin of my people.

Still, I don’t feel anything but selfish as I keep my childhood friend close, and yet forever out of reach. The pain of our proximity reflected in his eyes. A better man would set him free, but I’m not that noble. Just noble enough to deny us both what we crave.

But if I can’t be with the man I love, I can at least be a better prince for my people.
I need to remain focused on staving off my enemies as I’m teased with the promise of the only thing I’ve ever wanted.

Because as it turns out, prophecies are never quite what you think…

JAEGAR
If the story of my life has a theme, it must be this: so close, and yet so far.

Orphaned and raised as a brother to the wolf prince I love more than my own life, but never quite felt like one of the family. Talented enough in battle to silence the rumors that only favoritism gave me the role of his bodyguard, but not skilled enough to protect him when he needed me most.

I am willing and eager to be the partner—the mate—Prince Philip deserves. I can give him everything he wants, if only it weren’t for the one thing an ancient prophecy demands of him. The Prince must surrender to a marriage with the heir of a kingdom strong enough to protect his own.

But we are who we are, and we all have a role to play. I’ve made peace with mine. Ready to step into the shadows and allow his bride to bask in his light. But then I discover:

I am not who I thought I was.

And I have a far greater role to play than any I prepared for.

Discover the hidden truths that are revealed when these fearless men take destiny into their own hands. True Mates, is an exciting M/M, shifter, MPREG romance that makes you believe that fate may have a plan for us all.

@58% I was already wishing the book could just end and @77% I had to call it

The book started off so good, I was hooked but then the MCs are just meh 😕, their dialogue was just flat. The inconsistencies with language usage was just too much especially after the 50% mark.
I’m not even tempted to skim through the book to see how it ends

I wasted my time 😫 energy and battery life

This book wasn't bad, but I didn't like so much the MCs. Most of the time I didn't feel as if they were the real MCs of the book, but just some secondary chars with a lot of pages. The Prince was a bit useless and most of the time I wanted to read more about Miranda than the M/M couple. I wasn't a fan also of the fact that they knew since they were kids they were true mates, but still slept with other ppl. I know that they thought they couldn't be together and all that, but is not as if you are saying to me that they were old and logically they couldn't be virgins forever waiting for their chance with each other, but they were barely 20(maybe not even), and they talked about their past experiences with previous lovers as if that happened years before, and I was "WTF? years?" ....idk...in many books I don't care about this, but if you author, tell me about true mates and all that, I expect something different.
The plot was rushed in the good parts and too slow in the other moments. I'll rate this book 3.5 stars rounded to 4 bcs still no half stars, and I don't really think that the book deserves 3 stars.

Ps= btw in the book there were shifters....so they said....no well jokes apart, they are in wolf form like 2 times...

Oh My Gosh! Noah Harris wrote another Great 5 Star winner!

Prince Philip Chrysomon and Jaeger were raised together. Jaeger didn’t know who his parents were and wondered all his life why they had left him with the King and Queen of the Southern Reach.

The King and Queen had treated Jaeger as their own son and he was forever grateful. But as Philip and Jaeger grew up they began to know they were more than friends and into adulthood truly loved each other. Never could Philip marry Jaeger because he was not from royalty and also from a vision from the Court Conjurer that Philip would marry royalty.

So as adults they never overstepped the line between Philip as a Prince and Jaeger personal bodyguard to his endear beloved. He wanted to stay where Philip was and it was the only way they could stay together. When they could look at each other they had to hide their feelings for one another so they never could touch one another physical. To make sure they stayed apart and ensure they had no physical touch was ensured by the Sorcerer Orrin (Niles Orrin, Court Conjurer).

Orrin had showed up shortly after Jaeger was left with the King and Queen as their Court advisor of sort and has totally screwed with the whole royal family. Worse, he even was respected throughout the kingdom and by King Vernal, but he was suspected to have put an enchantment over their King, but had to evidence to prove it.

The time finally came that Princess Minerva Manora from the Northern Reach would soon become Queen of the Northern Reach and therefore a match was made between her and Philip. The heartache was wrenched between the two men. It was worse than either had imagined when the Princess entered the room.

That’s just a summary of the first part of the book and it only got more interesting as I read on.

There’s a sovereign state involved call the Forest of Arden along with the two kingdoms so there was a lot of action going on in this book. There’s sorcery and enchantments, betrayal in both
Northern & Southern Reaches, the escape of the Prince, Princess and Jaeger, a battle that takes place, but most of all the love between the two best friends. Deep love that they could finally show each other after all the years they had waited.

This book was phenomenal! The rich romance between Philip and Jaeger and the battle to regain their kingdom was outstanding. I highly recommend reading this book! You will not regret it. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book and was not required to leave a review.

Philip and Jaegar are true mates but a prophecy says prince Philip must marry a royal. They deny themselves, jsegar pledging himself to to a dedicated royal guard and Philip agreeing to marry a princess. But what happens when secrets are uncovered that changes everything?

Philip and Jaegar are such great characters. They love each other but are also protective of their Kingdom and people. I truly enjoyed reading their story. Sweet moments, intrigue, sexy times, a few funny lines and a good dose of action... this book entertains and satisfies.

I received an advanced reader's copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review and recommendation.

Summary:

Phillip and Jaeger were raised by Phillip’s parents as brothers. They were always found together until the day Sorcerer Orrin arrived. At first the changes were very subtle until the day the Orrin told the King and Queen about the prophecy that Phillip was to marry royal blood or the kingdom would end in ruin. That one prophecy stood in the way of their growing unspoken feelings for each other. Orrin seemed to take great pleasure in reminding Phillip his duty and Jaeger that he was totally unsuitable as a mate. Now shapeshifters know that finding ones true mate is not only special, but it is even harder to deny the pull they have towards each other. There is more going on with hidden enemies who are determined to attain their goals at any cost. Phillip and Jaeger are about to learn that freedom and love can be found if they are willing to fight for what they know is right.

This was a wonderful and intricate story about sometimes difficult journey of true love. The growing feelings between Phillip and Jeager were wonderful to experience. The struggle towards that love gained them new friends that would help change the course of their lives.

This book was surprisingly good considering that I have never even heard of the author or atleast I don't remember having heard of the author. The blurb had me really intrigued and I love shifters so I jumped in with both feet. This book was mpreg as well and even though the description stated that it was it still come as a happy surprise for me.

I loved the storyline, it was really intricate and well thought out. This story had a very well executed plot with some really strong characters. I truly enjoyed the characters, even those other than Philip and Jaegar. Minerva, Makepeace and Verity were all strong characters in their own right and they all had distinct personalities that got highlighted despite not being in the limelight as much. Also, I have become inordinately fond of Makepeace and Verity and would love to learn about their story.

Philip and Jaeger are very interesting characters and it is what they shared that truly got me interested in this book. There is a scene at the beginning of the book that is just them looking at each other but the level of interaction that goes on as they talk with their eyes is palpable. In fact, in the most bizarre occurrences, Jaeger and Philip had more chemistry while they were being forced to remain separate then when they come together, something I sorely missed. Also, what the hell happened to self-lubricating omegas they are my favourite trope in the entire genre but the last two books I have read have been really weird in the sense that they both had omegas who could get pregnant but didn't lubricate themselves. I know this is an asinine complaint but why not make the omegas self-lubricating if you are making them capable of pregnancy like why stop your imagination with just giving them the ability to conceive shouldn't you also do something to facilitate the impregnation. I for one am all for self-lubricating omegas it just makes sense for them to do that if they are going to have the ability to give birth. I am okay with omegas who don't lubricate themselves when they also can't get pregnant but if you give them one ability there seems to be no sense in forgoing the other.

With that little aside out of the way, I enjoyed the book and was genuinely happy about the triumphant end that all our characters got but this book would have definitely improved with just a little more chemistry between Jaeger and Philip when they were actually together, otherwise it still makes for a memorable read.

War, love and peace.

Philip is next in succession to be King, marriage has already been arranged for him as seen in a prophecy by the sneaky, underhanded court sorcerer Orrin , to a princess he's never met. Philip and Jaeger have grown up together from boys to men and love each other. Jaeger was an orphan taken in by the royal court as a baby . Philip must marry and put his feelings away and do his duty, his and Jaeger's wants and feelings have no place anymore even as fated mates and their secret must stay buried to protect them both from the court, they know their time beside each other is now drawing to a close and will be no more. Oh my heart !!! On seeing the princess all are shocked, she Jaeger's double but no one says anything and Jaeger feels something is off about the princess and her travelling court. Philip sets Jaeger to covertly be eyes and ears and he uncovers a massive plan of treachery by both courts and Orrin which forces him, Philip and the princess to flee the castle in the dead of night into the forest to secret allies but are unknowingly followed and attacked by mercenaries and find out that everyone was supposed to perish except for the princess and Jaeger. The princess goes back to her homeland and returns with an armed legion and the truth of who Jaeger really is, putting all of the pieces together finally gives everyone the heartbreaking extent of the lies, loss and manipulation that has been going on since Jaeger was born. Fueled by righteous anger and betrayal the forest pack and army set off back to the palace, the battle is won but it comes at a great, great cost and loss, but over time and alliances of all kingdoms peace and prosperity presides once again. This was an epic story in one book, a whole world created with an exceptional cast of characters, there was love, sorcery, battles, suspense and so much more, brilliantly written. This is Noah at his best writing big exciting stories, please keep writing like this. I absolutely loved it. I received a free advanced copy of this book and was not required to leave a review.

I truly loved this story. True Mates by Noah Harris has a great plot, adorable, well thought out main characters, awesome supporting characters, lots of emotion and action and a brilliant ending that brings us full circle from one Christmas festivities to those a year later...when everything has changed. This is a page turner and a truly enjoyable, captivating read.
The book takes the reader on a journey, both physical and emotional, with Philip and Jaeger, the future king and his personal guard, his best friend and so much more! From castle to forest and back the action spans werewolves and sorcerers, magic and secrets.
The plot is perfect, plenty of history, backstory and motivation for the characters actions, plenty of emotion, conflict and tension to keep the reader hooked and it moves at a good pace. We get hot romance, of the friends to lovers variety, plenty of shifting and some great fight scenes, a smattering of humour and parts where the emotion is almost too much, not to mention some Mpreg. I loved the lighthearted look at the chaotic events of the palace preparing for the festivities and I instantly found myself heavily invested in Jaeger and Philip and their story. I hated the baddies and adored the good guys and loved every twist and turn.
There’s so much going on with the plot and characters that it really can be read several times and you’ll see something new each time. This book has everything the reader needs to get lost in it’s pages. Note, I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this book and was not required to leave a review.

I did not really enjoy the last two books I read by this author. Noah Harris is a technically excellent writer but not all of his stories grab me in the way that True Mates did. At times, this story reminded me of an almost Arthurian tale; at other times, it was pure fairy tale. The mix worked very well.

Although the book is more about Jaeger and Philip, to me there are actually five main characters. Makepeace and Verity, and Minerva, are all as equally important to the story. Jaeger and Philip are true mates, yet their characters are such that it is not going to be plain sailing for them in the way that, perhaps, it is for Makepeace and Verity. The transition from looking longingly at each other for countless years to acknowledging they are meant to be together is excellently written. There are many other wonderful moments too. The background to Minerva and her two handmaidens is another such example.

Usually a fast-paced read, there was a lull for me in the middle of the book where I almost began to drift. Fortunately, it was a momentary thing and I was soon back into this amazing story. I would like to read more of this world, but there are no immediate contenders for a second book.

I have an interesting 'relationship' with Noah Harris's books. He has books i like, books i love, books i didn't like so much, and now this the new category, books, i don't like. I wanted to finish this book at 25%, but i had faith... sadly the story was not written for me.

The biggest problem to me was the writing, it was so thick with little dialogue and i was bored to death.
I wanted to find the love, the unique storyline and just something good in the book, but sadly i couldn't find any.
The scene, when Philipp and Jaegar finally found love, and they kissed and more... that was good. And i thought maybe the book would be good after that, but no such luck for me. Everything stopped... and i just wanted to end the book :(

Sorry, but this wasn't my book. And i missed the mpreg. This is not enough mpreg when you got pregnant at the end of the book, and this pregnancy was ridicoulus too... there wasn't any heat for the omega.

So yeah, this was a disappointing read, but the cute scene when Philipp and Jaeger were together and in love, they were the good ones only.

A truly, excellent MM wolf shifter romance that grabs the reader’s attention, & keeps it until the last page is turned. The plot is excellent and well-written with enough historical background to support the story-line. The characters are emotional motivated to do the best they possible can in some unusual situations.
It is about: an orphaned male wolf shifter (Jaegar) who is raised as a brother to the wolf prince (Philip) and the two of them are soulmates. Jaegar is prepared to sacrifice his own happiness for his soul mate, in order for the prophecy to be successful but then he discovers who he really is.
There is: royalty, alphas & omegas, werewolves, a sorcerer, adventure, action, twists & turns, intrigue, suspense, secrets, danger, enemies, magic, sorcery, enchantments, manipulations, treachery, heartache, betrayal, emotional turmoil, physical conflict, lies, verbal disagreements, discovery, implications, war, death, alliances, peace, love, happiness, some steam & a satisfying ending.
I really would recommend this MM shifter romance to people who like to read this genre. I doubt that you would be disappointed in this book

I like a book that captures your emotions and for me this book did. It is a good story when you can connect with the characters. A story about a Prince and the man that was raised with him who was taken in by the King's family. They grew up as friends who got closer over time. Yet as all royals do they have to follow their duties, and it does not look like they can ever be together. There is werewolves, magic, evil, good , and some twist and turns. All the hallmarks of a good story. I would say I wasn't sure about this story, ya it sounded interesting but went in with some doubts. I was pleasantly surprised and didn't want to put it down till I finished it. I would find myself without even thinking about it smiling at some parts. It wasn't just a story with the main characters it was the journey then went on to get where they end up. I did voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book and was not required to leave a review. Yet I will have to say I am glad I did receive a copy as it was a good read.

A thrilling suspenseful storyline!

I absolutely loved this storyline! I’m usually not a fan of this era but, I really loved the spin Noah envisioned in this story.
Minerva was a very pleasant badass! I was cheering her bravery and sassiness. I loved how she was included in the Alpha and Omega’s life as an equal. I don’t remember ever reading a strong female part in Noah’s book before and I must say keep them coming!
Philip and Jaeger are the Alpha and Omega. Philip is the royal Prince to the kingdom and Jaeger is his personal guard. They were together since they were young boys and knew how much they attracted to one another.
The storyline was one of the best written that I read from Noah. I loved the intense suspense of the evil characters, and the passionate friends in meets along his journey.
I can’t believe any negativity towards this book.
When Philip and Jaeger finally gave in to their passion it was combustible! I highly recommend this book, you will fall in love with the characters.

Philip has always been aware that his best friend is his destined mate, but unfortunately as he is the prince of his nation, what he wants in terms of his love life is not relevant or important. He has been told since he was young that it is his duty to marry a princess to form alliances with another nation, and that his heart is not his to freely give.
Jaegar has been Philips best friend and confidant since they were child and his guard when they were older. Now with the threat of Philip marrying a princess looming over their heads, decisions must be made as to whether the two of them can hand being apart, or if a relationship between the two of them is worth it.
For the two of them they realize that the heart and their happiness should always be thought of before their duty. for the two of them, they must battle to be able to fulfill this want and to be able to stay together as they truly desire.

When you think that Mr. Harris can’t top what he has written before, he just keeps proving you wrong with each tale he spins. His books get better and better and I just can’t wait to see what he comes up with next. I love this story and I have no choice to give it five stars.

There is a very strong connection between Jaeger and Philip and although they are not romantically involved, the relationship between the two blossomed to something akin to love. A prophecy dictates that Philip is destined to wed and the true nature of situations is revealed.

This story is a potpourri of sorts about shifters and sorcerers and we get the occasional fight in between. And although there is treachery, it is about the joining of two kingdoms and the acceptance of the non-traditional. It demonstrates that in the end love conquers the day with each choice the protagonists make while choosing their path.

Foster brothers Philip and Jaeger pit themselves against intriguers threatening the kingdom🏰

I really liked this pair of protagonists, 👑Prince Philip and Jaeger, and the plot was a bit of fairytale, with a pair of fast friends/foster brothers convinced they can never be more, plenty of schemers, power hungry necromancers, planned nuptials, and palace intrigue. I was hooked from the beginning on the idea that fostered royal guard Jaeger had an interesting backstory and waiting for the great reveal (which I got, in good time). Along the way to their happy conclusion, there's fighting, passionate embraces 😛, and a significant loss, but also new friends and freedom found.

Author Noah Harris writes well. I enjoyed the tone of the story and that Harris, although he included some steamy scenes, put them in the context of an interesting plot.

I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.

Best book so far from this author💜💙

I have to say I think this is the best so far written book from Noah Harris and that's saying a lot as we've had some corkers. This is about Philip who is being made to marry a princess from another kingdom to ensure the future kingdoms good fortune. Only trouble is he loves another Jaeger. With forces underfoot to upsurp and murder and magic abounding its not going to be easy to find there everlasting love. Secrets unfold but together will they triumph over evil?
I really enjoyed this, the story was well paced and the world building top notch that I fell easily into this world and got caught up in the motion of this book. Great characters and a strong loving women character that was not number one b#tch which I enjoyed. Loved it and I definitely recommend and would love to revisit this world and characters.

Prince Philip and Jaeger are best friends who grew up together, they had different paths to take as they grew older so they were unable to act on the growing passion developing between them. Jaeger is now a member of the royal family guard and Philip is expected to marry a princess to join and bring peace to two kingdoms.
There are many twists and turns in this story, a lot of deception, intrigue, and characters who are not what them first seem to be.
There is the intensely emotional journey Philip and Jaeger are on and it is heartbreaking to see the longing and love they show in briefly stolen moments.
There is a battle to win, new friends to make, enemies to destroy, steamy sexy times, devotion, a love that is finally set free, and a beautiful HEA.
I really enjoyed this book and definitely recommend it.

What an exciting read. Philip, a prince of his people and heir to the throne. How can he marry the princess chosen for him when his true love and true mate is Jaeger. Jaeger was taken under the wing of the king and queen as a child and grew up side by side with the love of his life and the man he chose to protect with his life. Their attraction to each other has to be secret and can never amount to anything, or so they thought. Bring on the strong willed Princess Minerva. This book has everything, strong males both alphas and omegas, a strong female, secrets and lies, a few tears, and a truth that will bring about a battle to bring peace to all. It was slow starting but it was information needed to be totally engrossed in the book. Loved the ending, so perfect.I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book and was not required to leave a review.

This shifter story is set around the medieval age. There are castles and sorcerers and suits of armor. The plot is pretty good, the world building is good, but there are some issues with language. The younger characters tend to use modern dialogue and older adults use flowery language suggesting an earlier time. While it did not take me out of the story, it was a little distracting when current slang popped up.

I would not classify this as a romance per se. It was more of an adventure with shades of courtly love (for historians and English lit majors) and some romantically sexy scenes. The MCs are super likeable and like I said, the plot is really good. Fantasy and wolf shifter fans will enjoy this one.

Werewolves Prince Philip and his best friend and guard Jaeger are kept apart by a prophecy.
Werewolves Prince Philip and Jaeger had grown up since Jaeger was orphaned like brothers but as the matured their feelings alters but a prophecy about the Philip having to marry a princess or the country will be at war so they have never acknowledged their attraction. Philip has been betrothed to the Crown Princess of the Northern Kingdom. When she arrives a string of event reveals that both countries have been manipulated with the aim of taking over both and going to war with a third. The three escape to try and save their peoples. A shifter romance to relax and enjoy.

The term soulmates a lot in love stories to mean that you found the one and that HEA is coming, but in a lot of ways this story gave it a truer definition. Jaegar, knowing that he cares for someone that he thinks he can never have but sacrificing to stay near him and care for him despite that. Philip sacrificing for his people when he knows his heart will never be as fulfilled as it would be if he could be with who he feels bonded to. This story is emotional and I really enjoyed the fact that connection and duty needed to find balance as they made their way toward their ending. Delayed gratification can make anticipation all the more fun of a read.

This is my 1st read and review for this author and this is such a fantastic story I enjoyed it immensely, and this is the story of Phillip and Jaeger. Phillip is a prince who has been in love with Jaeger for a long time, Jaeger is Phillip’s protector but there is Minerva who is to be Phiillip’s bride. Will Phillip go with his heart or what is expected of him for the sake of the kingdom?. I loved this story and I admired Jaeger for his loyalty no matter what he felt for Phillip he had to put the kingdom first. Philip Prince of the Southern Kingdom, his best friend since birth and guard to the royal family, Jaeger. Have bee in love with each other since they knew what love was. Though they always knew that Philip had to marry a princess and they could not be together.
There is treachery in the kingdom, they have always suspected but could not prove.
This is a story with many layers, and great characters, I really enjoyed it.
My only negative is that while the are werewolves it is almost a undeveloped part of the story as almost everything is done as humans even in the pack in the forrest.
Well worth reading.

I received an ARC from the author.

This is definitely one of my favorite books by Mr. Harris. I loved the fantasy, the sorcery, the Princess and the land between the two kingdoms...with the inhabitants who don't really fit in anywhere. I just needed to draw a map in my mind to place Makepeace and his mate's land in relation to the Prince's and the Princesses'.

The Princess rocked! Jaegar's birhright was the most exciting part of the book and I loved the conclusion. A fitting ending for the regents.

This was a good royal/shifter story. Philip was a prince who was expected to marry a princess of a neighboring area, but he only had feelings for Jaeger (his personal guard). As in many of these types of stories, the king is entranced by a sorcerer and his son doesn't know it. A battle is fought but many lives are lost. but eventually the kingdom is saved, but not without great loss. The story was well written and I enjoyed reading it. I got this book from Booksprout for an honest review

Fated loves

Noah Harris has done it again. This tender story of fated love brings a smile to my heart. As true friends share their friendships and love for each other as they deal with the fact that they will never be together as they truly want to be. One is a prince the other his royal guard. As their story unfolds they discover there is plan to kill the prince and take over his beloved kingdom. The characters are passionate and full of dreams for a better world. Nicely written and keeps you vested in the story. ⚘⚘⚘

It’s OK

The story is enjoyable if you can manage to ignore all the mistakes. Grammatically it is in poor condition and filled with anachronisms, starting with the celebration of Christmas. This is not our current world and there is no other mention of anything Christian so the holiday is truly misplaced. There are multiple instances of missing words and odd construction.

The story itself is OK, though the shifter world is less defined than usual and these shifters mostly don’t shift. Minimal character development but it does end upbeat and positive.

Philip and Jaegers story. Philip and Jaeger are true mates however, Philip is being forced to marry a woman in order to bring peace to the kingdom. Minerva is Philips bride to be however, seeing the utter heartbreak on Jaegers face was unexpected. Philip knew he’d be hurt he just didn’t know how much. Believe it or not Jaeger is an omega and Philips guard. Lovely story with a lot of action and filled with a love that is truly rare in life enjoy.
